Dua Allahumma Hadha Shahr Ramadan اللھم ھذا شھر رمضان

Following supplication that is mentioned by Shaykh al-±£siy and Sayyid Ibn ±¡w£s:

ضانمر رهذا شه مالله all¡humma h¡dh¡ shahru rama¤¡na

O Allah: this is the month of Rama¤¡n

آنالقر يهي أنزلت فالذ alladhy anzalta f¢hi alqur’¡na

in which You revealed the Qur'¡n,

نم ناتيبلناس ول ىده،قانالفرى وداله

hudan lilnn¡si wa bayyin¡tin mina alhud¡ wal-furq¡ni

a guidance for humankind and clear proofs of true guidance and distinction (between the right and the wrong)

wa h¡dh¡ shahru وهذا شهر الصيام،al¥¥iy¡mi

This is the month of observing fasting,

wa h¡dh¡ shahru وهذا شهر القيام،alqiy¡mi

this is the month of acts of worship,

-wa h¡dh¡ shahru al شهر الإنابة، وهذاin¡bati

This the month of turning to You (in penitence),

،ةبالتو رهذا شهو wa h¡dh¡ shahru alttawbati

This is the month of repentance,

ةرغفالم رهذا شهو،ةمحالرو

wa h¡dh¡ shahru almaghfirati wal-rra¦mati

This is the month of forgiveness and mercy,

نتق مالع رهذا شهو،نةز بالجالفوالنار و

wa h¡dh¡ shahru al`itqi mina alnn¡ri wal-fawzi biljannati

This is the moth of release from Hellfire and winning Paradise,

رهذا شهلة ولي يهف القدر

wa h¡dh¡ shahrun f¢hi laylatu alqadri

This is the month in which there is the Grand Night

ألف نم رخي يي هالت .شهر

allaty hiya khayrun mina alfi shahrin

Which is better than one thousand months.

على محمد اللهم فصل دمحآل مو

all¡humma fa¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

هاميلى صني عأعو،هاميقو

wa a`inn¢ `al¡ ¥¢¡mihi wa qiy¡mihi

And help me observe fasting and do acts of worship during it,

وسلمه لي وسلمني ،يهف

wa sallimhu l¢ wa sallimny f¢hi

And keep it upright for me, and keep me safe during it,

وأعني عليه بأ فضل ،نكوع

wa a`inn¢ `alayhi bi-a f¤ali `awnika

And help me observe it with the best of Your help

كتطاعل يهفقني فوو كولسر ةطاعو

صلى الله كائيلأوو،همليع

wa waffqny f¢hi li§¡`atika wa §¡`ati ras£lika wa awliy¡’ika ¥all¡ all¡hu `alayhim

And make me succeed in doing acts of obedience to You and to Your Prophet and Your intimate servants upon whom be Your blessings,

كتادبعل يهغني ففرو،تابكك ةلاوتو كائعدو

wa farrighny f¢hi li`ib¡datika wa du`¡’ika wa til¡wati kit¡bika

And make me devote myself to acts of worship to You, to praying You, and to reciting Your Book,

wa a`¨im l¢ f¢hi وأعظم لي فيه البركة،albarakata

And increase its blessings for me

wa a¦sin l¢ f¢hi al`¡fiyata And confer upon me with وأحسن لي فيه العافية،good health during it,

wa a¥i¦¦a f¢hi badan¢ And make my body healthy وأصح فيه بدني،during it,

wa awsi` f¢hi rizq¢ And expand my sustenance وأوسع فيه رزقي،during it,

¡wakfiny f¢hi m واكفني فيه ما أهمني،ahamman¢

And save me from whatever aggrieves me during it,

w¡stajib f¢hi du`¡’y And respond to my prayers واستجب فيه دعائي،during it,

wa ballighny f¢hi raj¡’y And make me attain my hope .وبلغني فيه رجائيduring it.

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

يهني فع بأذهوالنعاس والكسل

والسأمة

wa adhhib `ann¢ f¢hi alnn`¡sa wal-kasala wal-ssa’mata

And remove from me during it drowsiness, and lethargy, and laziness,

والفترة والقسوة والغفلة والغرة،

wal-fatrata wal-qaswata wal-ghaflata wal-ghirrata

And weariness, and hardheartedness, and inattentiveness, and carelessness.

يهني فنبجلل والعقامالأسو

wa jannibny f¢hi al-`ilala wal-asq¡ma

And put aside from me during it illnesses and sicknesses

زانالأحو وممالهو wal-hum£ma wal-a¦z¡na And grievances and sorrows

wal-a`r¡¤a wal-amr¡¤a And ailments and diseases والأعراض والأمراض

،الذنوبا والخطايو a`r¡¤a wal-amr¡¤a wal-kha§¡y¡ wal-dhdhun£ba And wrongdoings and sins.

واصرف عني فيه السوء والفحشاء

wa¥rif `ann¢ f¢hi alss£‘a wal-fa¦sh¡‘a

And send away from me during it evil and indecency

wal-jahda wal-bal¡‘a And fatigue and ordeals والجهد والبلاء

.wal-tta`aba wal-`an¡‘a And tiredness and suffering والتعب والعناء

innaka sam¢`u alddu`¡‘i Verily, You are the Hearer of .إنك سميع الدعاءprayers.

على محمد اللهم صل دمحآل مو

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

نم يهذني فأعو الشيطان الرجيم

wa a`idhny f¢hi mina alshshay§¡ni alrraj¢mi

And protect me during it from Satan the cursed

هنفثو زهلمو زهمهوهنفخو

wa hamzihi wa lamzihi wa nafthihi wa nafkhihi

And from his sting and from his slander and from his devilry

هتثبيطو هتسوسووهدكيو هطشبو

wa waswasatihi wa tathb¢§ihi wa ba§shihi wa kaydihi

And from his evil inspirations and from his frustration and from his obstinacy and from his trickeries

هعخدو هلائبحو كرهموهانيأمو

wa makrihi wa ¦ab¡’ilihi wa khuda`ihi wa am¡niyyihi

And from his deceptions and from his traps and from his scams and from his false hopes,

هكشرو هتنتفو ورهغروزابهأحو

wa ghur£rihi wa fitnatihi wa sharakihi wa a¦z¡bihi

And from his vanities, and from his seductions, and from his ruses, and from his allies,

هاعأشيو هاعأتبوهكائشرو هائيلأوو

wa atb¡`ihi wa ash¢¡`ihi wa awl¢¡’ihi wa shurak¡’ihi

And from his followers and from his fans and from his supporters and from his partners,

هدكائيع ممجو. wa jam¢`i mak¡’idihi And from all his snares.

دمحلى مصل ع ماللهدمحآل مو

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

هاميصو هاميزقنا قارو warzuqn¡ qiy¡mahu wa ¥iy¡mahu

And bestow upon us with the observance of fasting and acts of worship

وبلوغ الأمل فيه وفي هاميق

wa bul£gha alamali f¢hi wa f¢ qiy¡mihi

And attainment of our hopes during it and by means of doing acts of worship in it,

يرضيك واستكمال ما عني

wastikm¡la m¡ yur¤¢ka `ann¢

And accomplishment of that which brings about Your pleasure,

صبرا واحتسابا وإيمانا ويقينا،

¥abran w¡¦tis¡ban wa ‘¢m¡nan wa yaq¢nan

By means of steadfastness and acting for Your sake and faith and certitude,

ثم تقبل ذلك مني ،ةيرالكث افبالأضع

thumma taqabbal dhalika minny bila¤`¡fi alkath¢rati

And then admit all that from me with manifold rewards,

,wal-ajri al`a¨¢mi And great gifts والأجر العظيم،

با ريينالمالع. y¡ rabba al`¡lam¢na O the Lord of the worlds.

دمحلى مصل ع ماللهدمحآل مو

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

جزقني الحارةورمالعو warzuqny al¦ajj wal-`umrata

And grant me (the opportunity to undergo) °ajj and `Umrah,

ادهتالإجو الجدو wal-jidda wal-¡jtih¡da And hard work and painstaking

-wal-quwwata wal والقوة والنشاطnnash¡§a And power and activity

wal-in¡bata wal-ttawbata And turning to You and والإنابة والتوبةrepentance

wal-ttawf¢qa wal-qurbata And success and seeking والتوفيق والقربةYour nearness

والخير المقبول والرغبة والرهبة

wal-khayra almaqb£la wal-rraghbata wal-rrahbata

And admitted good-doing and desire (for You) and fear (from You)

الخشوعو عالتضرو wal-tta¤arru`a wal-khush£`a

And submission (to You) and meekness

wal-rriqqata wal-nniyyata والرقة والنية الصادقة،al¥¥¡diqata

And tenderness and sincere intention,

،اناللس قدصو wa ¥idqa allis¡ni And truthfulness

،نكل مجالوو wal-wajala minka And dread from You

،اء لكجالرو wal-rraj¡‘a laka And hoping for You

،كليكل عالتوو wal-ttawakkula `alayka And reliance upon You

،الثقة بكو wal-ththiqata bika And having trust in You

كارمحم نع عرالوو wal-wara`a `an ma¦¡rimika

And abstention from committing that which You have deemed unlawful

,ma`a ¥¡li¦i alqawli Along with decent speaking مع صالح القول،

wa maqb£li alssa`yi And admitted efforts ومقبول السعي،

wa marf£`i al`amali And elevated deeds ومرفوع العمل،

،ةوعاب الدتجسمو wa mustaj¡bi aldda`wait And responded prayers.

تحل بيني وبين ولا كذل نء مشي

wa l¡ ta¦ul bayny wa bayna shay‘in min dhalika

And do not let anything to intervene between me and any of these matters,

bi`ara¤in wa l¡ mara¤in Such as an accidental event بعرض ولا مرضor disease

¡wa l¡ hammin wa l هم ولا غمولا ghammin Or grief or unhappiness

ولا سقم ولا غفلة ولا ،انينس

wa l¡ suqmin wa l¡ ghaflatin wa l¡ nisy¡nin

Or ailment or advertence or oblivion;

فظالتحو داهل بالتعبيكفو لك

bal biltta`¡hudi wal-tta¦affu¨i laka wa f¢ka

Rather (help me do all that) with observance and carefulness to You and for Your sake

والرعاية لحقك والوفاء كدعوو كدهبع

wal-rri`¡iyati li¦aqqika wal-waf¡‘i bi`ahdika wa wa`dika

And adherence to that which is incumbent upon me toward You and fulfillment of my covenant and promise to You

محا أري كتمحبرينماحالر.

bira¦matika y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na

(let all that be) out of Your mercy, O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

دمحلى مصل ع ماللهدمحآل مو

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

واقسم لي فيه أفضل ما كادبعل همتقس

،ينحالصال

w¡qsim l¢ f¢hi af¤ala m¡ taqsimuhu li`ib¡dika al¥¥¡li¦¢na

And decide for me during this month the best of that which You decide for Your righteous servants,

وأعطني فيه أفضل ما بينقرالم اءكيلي أوطتع

wa a`§iny f¢hi af¤ala m¡ tu`§y awly¡‘aka almuqarrb¢na

And give me during it the most favorable of that which You give to Your intimate, favorite servants;

ةرغفالمو ةمحالر نمةابالإجنن والتحو

mina alrra¦mati wal-maghfirati wal-tta¦annuni wal-ij¡bati

Such as mercy, forgiveness, kindness, responding (of prayers)

ةمائالد ةرغفالمفو والعوافاةعالمو ةيافالعو

wal-`af£i wal-maghfirati aldd¡’imati wal-`¡fiyati wal-mu`¡fati

Pardon, perpetual forgiveness, good health, continuous wellbeing,

نتق مالعز والفوالنار ونةبالج

wal-`itqi mina alnn¡ri wal-fawzi biljannati

Release from Hellfire, winning Paradise,

ةرالآخا ونير الدخيو. wa khayri aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati

And the goodness of this worldly life and the Next World.

مالله دمحلى مصل عدمحآل مو

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

كإلي يهي فائعل دعاجو واصلا،

waj`al du`¡iy f¢hi ilayka w¡¥ilan

And cause my prayers during this month to reach You,

إلي كرخيو تكمحرو فيه نازلا،

wa ra¦mataka wa khayraka ilayy f¢hi n¡zilan

And cause Your mercy and goodness during it to reach me,

wa `amaly f¢hi maqb£lan And cause my deed to be وعملي فيه مقبولا،accepted (by You)

wa sa`¢y f¢hi mashk£ran And cause my efforts during وسعيي فيه مشكورا،it to be praiseworthy

wa dhanby f¢hi maghf£ran And cause my sins during it وذنبي فيه مغفورا،to be forgiven

يهيبي فنص كونتى يح،الأكثر

¦att¡ yak£na na¥¢by f¢hi alakthara

So that my share (of Your awards) shall be the most abundant,

فرالأو يهظي فحو. wa ¦a¨¨y f¢hi alawfara And my portion to be the most copious.

دمحلى مصل ع ماللهدمحآل مو

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

waffiqny f¢hi lilaylati ووفقني فيه لليلة القدرalqadri

And guide me to observe the Grand Night adequately,

حال تحب على أفضل نم دا أحهليع كوني أن

،ا لكضاهأرو كائيلأو

`al¡ af¤ali ¦¡lin tu¦ibb an yak£na `alayh¡ a¦adun min awliy¡’ika wa ar¤¡h¡ laka

Being on the most favorable and most pleased state that You would like to notice from any of Your intimate servants,

نرا مي خيا للهعاج ثم ألف شهر،

thumm aj`alh¡ l¢ khayran min alfi shahrin

And then decide it to be better for me that one thousand months,

وارزقني فيها أفضل ما لغتهب نمدا مزقت أحر

إياها وأكرمته بها،

warzuqny f¢h¡ af¤ala m¡ razaqta a¦adan mimmn ballaghtahu iyy¡h¡ wa akramtahu bih¡

And confer upon me during this night the best conferrals that You ever confer upon anyone whom You guide to attain it and whom You honor during it,

نا ميهلني فعاجو،نمهج نم كتقائع

waj`alny f¢h¡ min `utaq¡’ika min jahannama

And include me in it with those whom You release from Hell,

wa §ulaq¡’ika mina وطلقائك من النار،alnn¡ri

And whom You manumit from Hellfire

كاء خلقدعسوانكرضوو كترغفبم

wa su`ad¡‘i khalqika bimaghfiratika wa ri¤w¡nika

And with those of Your creatures who are happy due to Your forgiveness and satisfaction (that reach them),

ينماحالر محا أري. y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

دمحلى مصل ع ماللهدمحآل مو

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وارزقنا في شهرنا هذا الجد ادهتالإجو

warzuqn¡ f¢ shahrin¡ h¡dh¡ aljidda wal-ijtih¡da

And grant us during this month with hard working and painstaking

-wal-quwwata wal والقوة والنشاطnnash¡§a And power and activeness

wa m¡ tu¦ibbu wa tar¤¡ And whatever You like and .وما تحب وترضىplease.

اللهم رب الفجر وليال عشر والشفع والوتر،

all¡humma rabba alfajri wa lay¡lin `ashrin wal-shshf`i wal-watri

O Allah; the Lord of the Dawn, the Ten Nights, the Even and the Odd;

رمضان وما ورب شهر ،آنالقر نم يهأنزلت ف

wa rabba shahri rama¤¡na wa m¡ anzalta f¢hi mina alqur’¡ni

And the Lord of the month of Rama¤¡n and the Qur'¡n that You have revealed during it,

ورب جبرائيل وميكائيل لوإسرافيل وعزرائي

wa rabba jabr¡’¢la wa m¢k¡’¢la wa isr¡f¢la wa `izr¡’¢la

And the Lord of (Archangels) Gabriel, Michael, Isr¡f¢l, and `Izr¡’¢l,

كةلائيع الممجو،بينقرالم

wa jam¢`i almal¡’ikati almuqarrab¢na

As well as all the Favorite Angels,

بريلومعإسو يماهرإب wa rabba ibr¡h¢ma wa ism¡`¢la

And the Lord of (Prophets) Abraham and Ishmael

،قوبعيو حقإسو wa is¦¡qa wa ya`q£ba And Isaac and Jacob,

wa rabba m£s¡ wa `¢s¡ And the Lord of Moses and ورب موسى وعيسىJesus,

ينيع النبيمجو،ينلسرالمو

wa jam¢`i alnnabiyy¢na wal-mursal¢na

As well as all the Prophets and the Messengers,

ورب محمد خاتم ينالنبي

wa rabba mu¦ammadin kh¡tami alnnabiyy¢na

And the Lord of Mu¦ammad, the seal of the Prophets,

همليعو هليع اتكصلو،ينعمأج

¥alaw¡tuka `alayhi wa `alayhim ajma`¢na

May Your blessings be upon him and upon them all,

همليع قكبح ألكأسوكليع قهمبحو

wa as’aluka bi¦aqqika `alayhim wa bi¦aqqihim `alayka

And I beseech You in the name of their duty toward You Your duty toward them,

وبحقك العظيم لما هآلو هليت عصلي،ينعمأج همليعو

wa bi¦aqqika al`a¨¢mi lamm¡ ¥allayta `alayhi wa ¡lihi wa `alayhim ajma`¢na

And in the name of the great duty toward You that You may bless him and his Household and all of them,

ونظرت إلي نظرة رحيمة

wa na¨arta ilayya na¨ratan ra¦¢matan

And that You may take a merciful look at me,

ترضى بها عني رضى لا هدعب ليخط عدا،سأب

tar¤¡ bih¡ `ann¢ ri¤an l¡ sakha§a `alayya ba`dahu abadan

Due to which You be pleased to me so perfectly that You never be irate with me after that,

وأعطيتني جميع سؤلي ورغبتي وأمنيتي

وإرادتي،

wa a`§aytany jam¢`a su´l¢ wa raghbaty wa a’umniyaty wa ir¡dat¢

And You may grant me all my requests, desires, hopes, and needs,

ها أكرني مفت عصروذرأحو

wa ¥arafta `ann¢ m¡ akrahu wa a¦dharu

And You may ward off me all that which I despise and try to avoid,

وأخاف على نفسي وما لا أخاف

wa akh¡fu `al¡ nafsy wa m¡ l¡ akh¡fu

And all that which I fear for myself and all that which I do not fear,

وعن أهلي ومالي .وإخواني وذريتي

wa `an ahly wa m¡l¢ wa ikhw¡ny wa dhurriyyat¢

And do the same to my family members, my property, my brethren and my offspring.

ننا مرفر كإلي مالله،بينذنوبنا فآونا تائ

all¡humma ilayka fararn¡ min dhun£bin¡ fa¡£in¡ t¡’ib¢na

O Allah: to You are we running from our sins; so (please do) shelter us as we are repentant,

،رينتغفسنا مليع تبو wa tub `alayn¡ mustaghfir¢na

And accept our repentance as we are seeking Your

،ينذوتعلنا م راغفو waghfir lan¡ muta`awwidh¢na

And forgive us as we are seeking Your protection,

،تجيرينسذنا مأعو wa a`idhn¡ mustaj¢r¢na And protect us as we are seeking Your aid,

،ينملتسسنا مأجرو wa ajirn¡ mustaslim¢na And aid us as we are surrendering to You,

،بيناهلا تخذلنا رو wa l¡ takhdhuln¡ r¡hib¢na And never disappoint us as we are fearful of You,

،بيناغنا رآمو wa ¡minn¡ r¡ghib¢na And secure us as we are desiring for You,

،ينلائنا سشفعو wa shaffi`n¡ s¡’il¢na And accept our intercession as we are begging You,

إنك سميع وأعطنا جيبم اء قريبعالد.

wa a`§in¡ innaka sam¢`u alddu`¡‘i qr¢bun muj¢bun

And grant us (what we hope) as You are verily the Hearer of prayers, the Nigh, and the Responding.

اللهم أنت ربي وأنا كدبع

all¡humma anta rabby wa an¡ `abduka

O Allah: You are my Lord and I am Your servant,

دبأل العس نم قأحوهبر

wa a¦aqqu man sa-ala al`abdu rabbahu

And it is conventional that a servant begs from his Lord,

ثلكم ادبأل العسي لمو كرما وجودا،

wa lam yas’ali al`ib¡du mithlaka karaman wa j£dan

And all Your servants have never begged anyone who is as generous and magnanimous as You are.

يا موضع شكوى ،ينلائالس

y¡ maw¤i`a shak£ alss¡’il¢na

O the center of the complaints of the beseechers;

ةاجى حنتها ميو،بيناغالر

wa y¡ muntah¡ ¦¡jati alrr¡ghib¢na

O the ultimate goal of the needs of the desirers,

،ينيثتغساث الميا غيو wa y¡ ghiy¡tha almustagh¢th¢na

O the Aide of the seekers of aid,

ةوعد جيبا ميوwa y¡ muj¢ba da`wati almu¤§arr¢na

O the Responding to the prayers of the distressed ones,

،ينضطرالم ،اربينأ الهلجا ميو wa y¡ malja’a alh¡rib¢na O the Shelter of the fugitives,

ويا صريخ ،ينتصرخسالم

wa y¡ ¥ar¢kha almusta¥rikh¢na

O the Helper of the seekers of help,

،ينفتضعسالم با ريو wa y¡ rabba almusta¤`af¢na

O the Lord of the enfeebled ones,

ويا كاشف كرب ،وبينكرالم

wa y¡ k¡shifa karbi almakr£b¢na

O the Reliever of the grievances of the aggrieved ones,

مه ا فارجيو،ينوممهالم

wa y¡ f¡rija hammi almahm£m¢na

O the Releaser of the agonies of the sad ones,

ويا كاشف الكرب العظيم،

wa y¡ k¡shifa alkarbi al`a¨¢mi

O the Reliever of the enormous calamities;

¡y¡ all¡hu y¡ ra¦mnu y رحيميا الله يا رحمن يا ra¦¢mu

O Allah; O the All-beneficent; O the All-merciful;

ينماحالر محا أري y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy:

صل على محمد وآل دمحم

¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

(please) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

واغفر لي ذنوبي وعيوبي

waghfir l¢ dhun£by wa `uy£by

And forgive my sins and my defects,

وإساءتي وظلمي وجرمي

wa is¡‘aty wa ¨ulmy wa jurmy

And my offenses and my wrongdoing and my felonies

wa isr¡f¢ `al¡ nafs¢ And my extravagance in my وإسرافي على نفسي،affairs,

كفضل نزقني ماروكتمحرو

warzuqny min fa¤lika wa ra¦matika

And (please) grant me out of Your favors and mercy,

¡fa’innhu l¡ yamlikuh يملكها غيرك،فإنه لا ghayruka

For none possess these save You,

w¡`fu `ann¢ And (please) pardon me واعف عني،

لفا سي كل مل راغفو من ذنوبي،

waghfir l¢ kull m¡ salafa min dhun£b¢ And forgive all my past sins

نم يقا بيمني فمصاعو عمري،

w¡`¥imny f¢m¡ baqiya min `umr¢

And save me from sinning in the rest of my lifetime,

واستر علي وعلى يدالو

w¡stur `alayya wa `al¡ w¡lidayya

And cover me as well as my parents,

وأهل وولدي وقرابتي حزانتي

wa walady wa qar¡baty wa ahli ¦uz¡naty

And my children and my relatives and my friends,

ومن كان مني بسبيل نينمؤالم نم

والمؤمنات في الدنيا ،ةرالآخو

wa man k¡na minny bisab¢lin mina almu´min¢na wal-mu´min¡ti f¢ aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati

And all those who relate to me from the believing men and women in this worldly life and the life to come,

كدبي كله كذل فإن fa’inna dhalika kullhu biyadika

For all that is managed by You alone

أنت ووةرغفالم عاس wa anta w¡si`u almaghfirati

And You are verily the Liberal in forgiving,

¡fal¡ tukhayybny y فلا تخيبني يا سيدي،sayyid¢

So, please my Master: do not disappoint me,

ولا ترد دعائي ولا يدي إلى نحري

wa l¡ tarudda du`¡iy wa l¡ yady il¡ na¦ry

And do not reject my prayer and do not let me down,

حتى تفعل ذلك بي وتستجيب لي جميع ما

ألتكس

¦att¡ taf`ala dhalika by wa tastaj¢ba l¢ jam¢`a m¡ sa’altuka

But please do all that to me and respond to my in all that which I have asked from You,

،كفضل نني متزيدو wa taz¢dany min fa¤lika And increase Your favoring upon me,

فإنك على كل شيء ،يرقد

fa’innaka `al¡ kulli shay‘in qad¢run

Because You verily have power over all things,

ونباغر كإلي ننحو. wa na¦nu ilayka r¡ghib£na And for You do we desire.

اللهم لك الأسماء الحسنى،

all¡humma laka alasm¡‘u al¦usn¡

O Allah: Yours are the Most Excellent Names

wal-amth¡lu al`uly¡ And the Most Elevated والأمثال العليا،Examples,

wal-kibriy¡‘u wal-¡l¡‘u And every greatness and all والكبرياء والآلاء،bounties.

كمباس ألكأس: as’aluka bismika: I thus beseech You by Your Name:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

bismi all¡hi alrra¦m¡n alrra¦¢mi

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful;

إن كنت قضيت في لةاللي ههذ

in kunta qa¤ayta f¢ hadhihi allaylati

If you have decided at this night,

تنزل الملائكة والروح فيها

tanazzala almal¡’ikati wal-rr£¦i f¢h¡

During which the angels and the Holy Spirit are allowed to descend,

دمحلى مع تصلي أن،دمحآل مو

an tu¥alliya `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

That You may bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

¢wa an taj`ala ismy fوأن تجعل اسمي في alss`ad¡‘i

And You may add my name to the (list of the) happy

,ones السعداء،

wa r£¦y ma`a وروحي مع الشهداء،alshshuhad¡‘i

And add my soul to the martyrs,

،ينليي عاني فسإحو wa i¦s¡ny f¢ `illiyy¢na And elevate my good doings exaltedly

wa is¡‘aty maghf£ratan And decide my ill deeds to be وإساءتي مغفورة،forgiven,

وأن تهب لي يقينا تباشر به قلبي،

wa an tahaba l¢ yaq¢nan tub¡shiru bihi qalb¢

And that You grant me conviction with which You fill in my heart,

،شك هشوبانا لا يإيمو wa ‘¢m¡nan l¡ yash£buhu shakkun

And grant me faith free of doubt,

¢wa ri¤an bim¡ qasamta l ورضى بما قسمت لي،And grant me satisfaction with that which You decide for me,

وآتني في الدنيا حسنة وفي الآخرة حسنة

wa ¡tiny f¢ aldduny¡ ¦asanatan wa f¢ al¡khirati ¦asanatan

And grant me good in this worldly life and good in the Next World

wa qiny `adh¡ba alnn¡ri And save me from the Fire of وقني عذاب النار،Hell.

تكن لم إني وت فقضيلةاللي ههذ

wa in lam takun qa¤ayta f¢ hadhihi allaylati

And if You have not decided at this night,

تنزل الملائكة والروح فيها

tanazzala almal¡’ikati wal-rr£¦i f¢h¡

During which the angels and the Holy Spirit are allowed to descend,

،كني إلى ذلفأخر fa-akhkhrny il¡ dhalika Then (please) postpone Your decisions about me to that night,

ككرا ذيهزقني فاروكشكرو

warzuqny f¢h¡ dhikraka wa shukraka

And confer upon me during it with reference to You and showing gratitude to You,

نسحو تكطاعو،كتادبع

wa §¡`ataka wa ¦usna `ib¡datika

And doing acts of obedience to You and worshipping You in the best manner;

وصل على محمد وآل دمحم

wa ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

And (please) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

محا أري كاتبأفضل صلو،ينماحالر

bi-af¤ali ¥alaw¡tika y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na

With Your most favorable blessings, O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

y¡ a¦adu y¡ ¥amadu O the Unique, O the صمديا أحد يا Besought of all;

دمحم با ري y¡ rabba mu¦ammadin O the Lord of Mu¦ammad

دمحمل مواغضب الي،هتترار عرلأبو

igh¤abi aliyawma limu¦ammadin wa liabr¡ri `itratihi

(please) revenge on this day for Mu¦ammad and for the pious ones from his offspring,

w¡qtul a`d¡‘ahum واقتل أعداءهم بددا،badadan

And eradicate all of their enemies,

wa a¦¥ihim `adadan And put them all under Your وأحصهم عددا،reprimand

ظهر ولا تدع على الأرض منهم أحدا،

wa l¡ tada` `al¡ ¨ahri alar¤i minhum a¦adan

And do not leave anyone of them to live on this earth,

wa l¡ taghfir lahum ولا تغفر لهم أبدا،abadan And never forgive them.

،ةبالصح نسا حي y¡ ¦asana al¥¥u¦bati O the most excellent Companion;

ينيفة النبيا خلي y¡ khal¢fata alnnabiyy¢na O the Heir of the Prophets

،ينماحالر محأنت أر anta ar¦amu alrr¡¦im¢na You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy,

albad¢‘ albad¢`u The Commencer, the البديعالبديء brilliant Maker,

كثلكم سي ليالذ شيء،

alladhy laysa kamithlika shay‘un There is none like You

wal-dd¡’imu ghayru والدائم غير الغافل،algh¡fili

And You are the Eternal Who never omits anything,

¡wal-¦ayyu alladhy l والحي الذي لا يموت،yam£tu

And You are the Ever-living Who never dies,

،ي شأنم فوأنت كل ي anta kulla yawmin f¢ sha’nin

On each day, You have a certain state;

،دمحيفة مأنت خل anta khal¢fatu mu¦ammadin

You are the Heir of Mu¦ammad,

،دحمم رناصو wa n¡¥iru mu¦mmdin And the Supporter of Mu¦ammad,

،دمحفضل ممو wa mufa¤¤ilu mu¦ammadin

And the Selector of Mu¦ammad

يصو تنصر أن ألكأسدمحيفة مخلو دمحم

as’aluka an tan¥ura wa ¥iyy mu¦ammadin wa khal¢fata mu¦ammadin

I beseech You to give victory to the successor and representative of Mu¦ammad,

نم طسبالق مالقائودمحاء ميصأو

wal-q¡’ima bilqis§i min aw¥y¡‘i mu¦ammadin

The Imam who shall appear with justice among the successors of Mu¦ammad,

،همليعو هليع اتكصلو ¥alaw¡tuka `alayhi wa `alayhim

May Your blessings be upon him and upon them,

،كنصر همليع فطاع i`§if `alayhim na¥raka (please) turn Your victory toward them,

y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta O He but Whom there is no يا لا إله إلا أنتgod

bi¦aqqi l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta I beseech You in the name of بحق لا إله إلا أنتthat there is no god but You,

صل على محمد وآل دمحم

¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

(please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

واجعلني معهم في ،ةرالآخا ونيالد

waj`alny ma`ahum f¢ aldduny¡ wal-¡khirati

And allow me to join them in this worldly life as well as the Next World

عاقبة أمري إلى واجعل كتمحرو انكغفر

waj`al `¡qibata amry il¡ ghufr¡nika wa ra¦matika

And allow all my affairs to end up with Your forgiveness and mercy,

،ينماحالر محا أري y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

كت نفسبنس ككذلوwa kadhalika nasabta nafsaka y¡sayyidy billu§fi

O my Master: You have ascribed the feature of

،ي باللطفديا سي kindness to Yourself,

يفلط لى إنكب bal¡ innaka la§¢fun And You are truly kind,

على محمد وآل فصل دمحم

fa¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

So, (please) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

wal-§uf by lim¡ tash¡‘u And treat me kindly as You .والطف بي لما تشاءlike,

دمحلى مصل ع مالله محمدوآل

all¡humma ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: (please) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

وارزقني الحج والعمرة في عامنا هذا،

warzuqny al¦ajj wal-`umrata f¢ `¡min¡ h¡dh¡

And grant me (the opportunity to undertake) °ajj and `Umrah in this year,

وتطول علي بجميع .حوائجي للآخرة والدنيا

wa ta§awwal `alayya bijam¢`i ¦aw¡’ijy lil¡khirati wal-dduny¡

And confer upon me with the favor of settling all my needs for the Next World and this worldly life

You may then repeat the following statements three times:

أتوب ي وبر الله رتغفأسهإلي

astaghfiru all¡ha rabby wa at£bu ilayhi

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him,

،جيبم ي قريببر إن inna rabby qar¢bun muj¢bun

Surely, my Lord is Nigh and Responding.

أتوبي وبر الله رتغفأسهإلي

astaghfiru all¡ha rabby wa at£bu ilayhi

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him,

،وددو يمحي ربر إن inna rabby ra¦¢mun wad£dun

Surely, my Lord is Merciful, Loving.

أتوبي وبر الله رتغفأسهإلي

astaghfiru all¡ha rabby wa at£bu ilayhi

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him,

.innahu k¡na ghaff¡ran He is surely All-forgiving .إنه كان غفارا

¢all¡humma aghfir l اللهم اغفر ليO Allah: (please do) forgive me,

،ينماحالر محأر إنك innaka ar¦amu alrr¡¦im¢na

You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

رب إني عملت سوءا نفسيوظلمت

rabbi inn¢ `amiltu s£‘an wa ¨alamtu nafsy

O my Lord: I have committed ill deeds and wronged myself,

رغفلا ي ي إنهل رفاغف الذنوب إلا أنت،

faghfir l¢ innahu l¡ yaghfiru aldhdhun£ba ill¡ anta

So (please) forgive me, because none can forgive sins save You.

ي لا إلهالذ الله رتغفأسوإلا ه

astaghfiru all¡ha alladhy l¡ il¡ha ill¡ huwa

I seek the forgiveness of Allah save Whom there is no god,

يملالح ومالقي يالحيمظالع

al¦ayyu alqayy£mu al¦al¢mu al`a¨¢mu

The Ever-living, the Self-Subsistent, the Indulgent, the All-great,

الكريم الغفار للذنب العظيم

alkar¢mu alghaff¡ru lildhdhnbi al`a¨¢mi

The Noble, the forgiver of fatal sins,

،هإلي أتوبو wa at£bu ilayhi And I repent before Him.

الله رتغفأس astaghfiru all¡ha I seek the forgiveness of Allah,

إن الله كان غفورا .رحيما

inna all¡ha k¡na ghaf£ran ra¦¢man

Allah is verily Forgiver, Merciful.

You may then keep on, saying:

أن ألكإني أس ماللهمحمد وآل تصلي على

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka an tu¥alliya `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin

O Allah: I beseech You to send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

دمحم وأن تجعل فيما تقضي

رتقدو wa an taj`ala f¢m¡ taq¤y wa tuqaddiru

And to decide within the decisions that You make,

من الأمر العظيم المحتوم في ليلة القدر

mina alamri al`a¨¢mi alma¦t£mi f¢ laylati alqadri

From the great, inevitable affair at the Grand Night,

دري لا يالقضاء الذ نم يبدل ولا

mina alqa¤¡‘i alladhy l¡ yuraddu wa l¡ yubaddalu

Within the decision that is neither rejected nor altered,

أن تكتبني من حجاج بيتك الحرام

an taktubany min ¦ujj¡ji baytika al¦ar¡mi

That You write my name with the pilgrims of Your Holy House,

،مهجور حربالم almabr£ri ¦ajjuhumu Whose °ajj is admitted,

،مهيعشكور سالم almashk£ri sa`yuhumu Whose efforts are praiseworthy,

،مهغفور ذنوبالم almaghf£ri dhun£buhumu Whose sins are forgiven,

منهكفر عالم ،مئاتهيس almukaffri `anhum sayyi’¡tuhum

And whose offenses are pardoned.

وأن تجعل فيما تقضي وتقدر أن تطيل عمري،

wa an taj`ala f¢m¡ taq¤y wa tuqaddru an tu§¢la `umr¢

And that You may decide among the decisions that You make that You grant me long lifetime,

,wa tuwassi`a rizq¢ And expand my sustenance وتوسع رزقي،

وتؤدي عني أمانتي وديني،

wa tu´addiya `ann¢ am¡naty wa dayn¢

And help me fulfill my trusts and settle my debts,

ينالمالع بر ينآم. ¡m¢na rabba al`¡lam¢na Respond to me; O the Lord of the worlds.

ني مل لعاج مالله أمري فرجا ومخرجا،

all¡humma aj`al l¢ min amriya farajan wa makhrajan

O Allah: (please do) make for me relief and an outlet,

وارزقني من حيث أحتسب ومن حيث لا

،بتسأح

warzuqny min ¦aythu a¦tasibu wa min ¦aythu l¡ a¦tasibu

And provide for me from whence I expect and from whence I do not expect,

واحرسني من حيث أحترس ومن حيث لا

،ترسأح

w¡¦rusny min ¦aythu a¦tarisu wa min ¦aythu l¡ a¦tarisu

And guard me from when I take precautions and from whence I do not take precautions,

وصل على محمد وآل .محمد وسلم كثيرا

wa ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin wa sallm kath¢ran

And send plentiful blessings and benedictions upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad.
