PANEL: CREATING YOUR CAREER
MEREDITH KALAMAN (MODERATOR)Meredith Kalaman began her career as a solo artist, commissioning works by well known
artists such as John Ottmann, Noam Gagnon and Farley Johansson and creating works with Dance/Theater Director Sophie Yendole. She also performed with local companies; the Karen Jamieson Dance Company, Judith Marcuse Projects, Dancers Dancing and Movent and in works by Peggy Baker, Kate Franklin, Michael Kong, Julie Lebel and Kirsten Wiren. Her full velocity duet, Ruminate, inspired by the giraffes necking process, danced with Arash Khakpour, traveled to Toronto in 2014 and also
debuted on the stages of Dancing on the Edge and New Works in 2015. Meredith has steadily developed the vision of her work in B.C. and beyond. Since 2008 her works have
toured North America, Europe and China, as well as presenting locally at various festivals and venues in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Meredith is inspired by creating opportunities
for various artists to work together on a common goal, to make excellent work and that this goal opens viewer and artist to a new perspective that was not previously considered.
SIERRA BREWERTONSierra Brewerton is a professional Dancer, Singer, Actor originally from Vancouver, BC. She
began working in the industry at age 12, and is fortunate to continue doing so all over Canada and Internationally. Sierra has a wide variety of professional credits ranging from Music Videos to Industrial shows to Film/TV credits and Musicals. A few of her favourites include: Beauty and The Beast (Neptune Theatre + Arts Club), Turandot (Vancouver Opera), Anne Of Green Gables (Theatre Calgary), iZombie (CW), and Anyway (No King, Music Video). She believes that combining passion with hard work is
always the recipe for something amazing!
JORDAN DALYFrom startups to Fortune 500 companies, Jordan has had the honor of working on
strategy for and with some of the most incredible leaders, innovators, change agents, creative geniuses & academics in the world. She has also had a development fund focused on 3rd world countries, and created a tech company in healthcare. Throughout all of this, her work in self - inquiry, reprogramming, radical presence and finding grace through challenges and darkness was the layer guiding her constantly.Jordan teaches yoga at various studios in New York, Los Angeles and at TurF in
Vancouver. She works with women, executives & companies, as facilitator, advisor and counsel for growth.

NATALIE LEFEBVRE GNAM Natalie LeFebvre Gnam is an award-winning dance artist, educator, and the artistic
producer of multidisciplinary performance company and founding member of Left of Main, plastic orchid factory, whose projects she co-imagines with dance artist, James Gnam. She studied at L’École Supérieure de Ballet in Montréal and since 1997 has collaborated and performed in works with Le Jeune Ballet du Québec, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, dancersdancing, Coleman Lemieux & Co. and MACHiNENOiSY. Since 2009, she works closely with James and the artists of plastic
orchid to make work that examines the social, political and technological landscapes of contemporary bodies. Natalie has also worked as an administrative agent at Théâtre
la Seizième, DanceHouse and Fight With a Stick (formerly Leaky Heaven Performance). She is a board member of Productions 2Par4 and the Training Society of Vancouver. Natalie

ELOI HOMIEREloi Homier lives, works, and plays as a dance artist on the traditional unceded territories
of Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, and Squamish nations, also known as Vancouver, BC. With deep roots in Québec, Eloi strives to honour his Wendat, Algonquin, Nipissing,
and French ancestors through his art and life. He divides his time between dancing and teaching Métis jigs, experimenting as part of contemporary dance projects, and creating his own performance pieces, ranging from comedic silent-film-inspired dance, to collaborative site-specific installations, to thoughtful and
personal dance-theatre one-man-shows.
KATE FRANKLINKate Franklin received her initial dance training at Quinte Ballet School in Belleville
Ontario. She continued her education at the Ballet BC Mentor Program and as an intern at Toronto Dance Theatre. She spent the first decade of her career based in Toronto. She danced with numerous companies and choreographers, most notably ProArte Danza, Kaeja d’Dance, Company Vice Versa (Valerie Calam), Zata Omm Dance Projects (William Yong) and Matjash Mrozewski, amongst others. Kate was a mobilizing force in the Toronto dance community. She is the co-founder
of Ambitious Enterprises, a company that produced five “At the Wrecking Ball” programs of interdisciplinary dance over ten years. With Kate Holden, Franklin
founded firstthingsfirst productions in 2005. Together, the Kates commissioned and performed an impressive number of works from independent Canadian choreographers
and produced three full-length evenings of dance. Kate is a voracious student and an enthusiastic teacher of Western contemporary dance. Now living in Vancouver, Kate is Associate Director of Modus Operandi and works frequently with choreographers Justine A. Chambers, Meredith Kalaman and company Tara Cheyenne Performance. Kate is the recipient of the 2014 Dora Mavor Moore award for Outstanding Female Performance for the solo “Gotta Go Church” choreographed by Valerie Calam.

DANI FECKODani Fecko is Founder of Fascinator Management, a contemporary performance agency
based in on unceded Coast Salish Territories, Vancouver, BC. Dani was Managing Producer of Boca del Lupo, Production and Facilities Manager for Carousel Theatre and spent four years as Associate Curator at the PuSh Festival. Dani trained as a Stage Manager at Studio 58, working for the Vancouver Olympics, Vancouver Opera, Touchstone and more locally and Theatre Replacement, Neworld Theatre, and more across Canada and Europe. She tour managed across North America, Mexico
and Europe with Germany’s Rimini Protokoll. In 2009 Dani was awarded the Jessie Richardson Most Promising Newcomer Award. Dani has been on multiple theatre
boards in Vancouver. She is currently on the Western Arts Alliance board, where she is co-chair of the Professional Development, Mentoring and 35below committees. Dani is a
member of the development of committee of the International Society of the Performing Arts (ISPA) and was on the planning committee for the 2018 Association of Performing Arts Professional (APAP). She recently completed the two year APAP Leadership Fellows Program.
MARY ANN ANDERSONMary Ann S. Anderson is a Vancouver-based arts administrator, who has worked in the
local cultural community since 1989. A graduate of the University of Toronto’s Arts Administration Program, Mary Ann has been the Executive Director of a number of organizations, including arts service groups, galleries, artist cooperatives and municipal government agencies. Mary Ann has considerable experience in public fundraising, and in the development of fundraising plans; in addition, she was responsible for the delivery of the North Vancouver municipal granting program working with 50+ arts
organizations over the course of 12 years. She has forged successful relationships with funding agencies across the country in the course of her career. Mary Ann is the founder
of Little Dog Creative Consulting (2005), which has provided consulting services to over 100+ clients in the areas of arts management, organizational planning, capacity building and
public fundraising.

JESSICA WADSWORTHJessica Wadsworth has been engaged in cultural management for the last 15 years. Based
in Vancouver, she has organized and overseen events, tours and exhibitions all over the world in visual arts, theatre and dance, as well as in labour and the green industry. Jessica currently sits on committees related to health and safety in the performing arts sector and is a student of UBC’s “Reconciliation through Indigenous Education” program.

LEE KOTSALIS-THULINI am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a private practice in downtown Vancouver,
and have been privileged to work with DTRC members since 2004. The dancers I see in therapy are seeking to address a range of issues, some of which are related to life as a dancer – for example, transitioning into or out of a dance career, dealing with the stresses, joys, grief and pressures related to the profession – and some of which are related to being a person in this world. My areas of clinical expertise include working with anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, addiction, disordered
eating, and relational disconnect.
CRISTINA BUCCICristina Bucci is a dancer, choreographer, teacher and nutritionist
whose career has taken her around the world. She studied at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition where she attained the professional designation as Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.) with honors. Her background in dance has since led her to develop seminars with the specific needs of dancers in mind. Her hopes with these seminars are to educate young dancers of the importance of a healthy diet and lifestyle for a long and successful dance career. As a dance artist she has
participated in the International Dance Seminar in Brazil, Dancing on the Edge, Vancouver International Dance Festival, CypheFest International Dance Festival,
Guelph Dance Festival, Big Fish Tour (Egypt/Israel), Body Talk Project, TANGENT Tour (Tokyo), and Avant Garde Dance (UK). Cristina is currently practising as a nutritionist in
Vancouver, BC and acts as the Managing/Co-Artistic Director of OURO Collective.
CURTIS WONGA long time hospitality professional, Curtis Wong has worked in hotel operations and
Tourism Vancouver’s development before co-opening a department at Holt Renfrew, co-creating a catering brand. Now entrepreneur and consultant, he owns a boutique ‘mystery shopping company’ auditing over 20 businesses in service and sales standards while writing restaurant management training courses and leading sales and marketing at Ballet BC. In his 3rd marketing role, 2nd performing arts organization and 3rd non-profit, Curtis understands the challenges of marketing on limited budget, the need to extend public relation stories and creatively develop
partnerships to leverage new audiences.

SATPAL RAII am a CFP (Ceritified Financial Planner), have been since 2004, started at the branch
level at CIBC August, 1992, leaving April 1998 to start my own planning business. I have helped over 2,000 families, over 100 companies with financial and business planning. I am a Director and founder of Financial Key Cnsulting and Financial Key Mortgage Corpoartion. I graduated from SFU, BA, Econ June 1998. My daughter and I enjoy travelling, volunteering, and our large extended family.
