Having active creative arts workshops, programs, and production targeting undergraduate students, at;risk youth, and professional actors. 3. DTCo. merchandise, prizes, giveaways, and scholarships. 6. “Empowerment through theatre arts,” by creating and producing original theatre productions and devise works that will promote social awareness, touching on global issues, “taboo” topics and performances that are intellectually stimulating and pleasing to the audience. On&August&15,&2007&Diversity&Theatre&was&founded&on&the&campus&of&Virginia&Commonwealth&University&by&undergraduates&Donnie&L.&Joyner&and&Dakota&L.&Cotton;Smith.&&Their&vision,&ambition,&and&endurance&sought&to&challenge&adversity&and&oppression&within&their&social&and&cultural&environment.&&The&first&production&produced&a&crowd&of&500&plus.&

The&success&of&Diversity&Theatre&at&V.C.U.&propelled&the&founders&to&transition&this&student&organization&into&a&501&C;3&Non;Profit&organization.&&Incorporated&on&April&13,&2011,&Diversity&Theatre&now&aims&to&conceive&a&new&and&diverse&perspective&of&cultures&through&multiple&artistic&mediums.&
