Drumbeat Sept 2017 - Lympstone

1
ENTERTAINING LYMPSTONE on Saturday, 3 rd February 2018 Are you preparing your act for the Village Concert? It’s time to choose a sketch, write a comic monologue, select a song, dust down your drumkit, uncase your violin, unearth your ukulele, tone up your jokes, tone down your language, learn a poem, practise a dance, rehearse your boy (or girl) band, find a partner (a stage partner), and let us know what you are planning, so that we can put together our programme for the most popular annual show in the Lympstone calendar. If you are thinking of taking part (and we hope you are), please contact Sheila Stone on [email protected] and tell her your plans. She will discuss with you details such as the length of your act, the opportunities for rehearsal, your place in the programme, and if necessary an accompanist. Please remember 3rd February (rehearsals on Friday 2nd) and start planning your performance. ________________________________ We’re delighted to confirm that the Dante String Quartet will be performing in Lympstone again next year: the church has been booked for their visit on SUNDAY 24TH JUNE. More anon! _____________________ Have you bought yourself one yet, or a number for your friends? They make extremely welcome Christmas gifts! (the cover painting shown here, by Jenny de la Haye, is a view from Estuary Cottage, the home of the late David Burton, parish councillor and editor of the Lympstone Herald for many years)
