Drug Store Deal and Super Stacking

Coupon Wizards Intermediate Webinar

Before You Begin• Couponing will not cause a store, nor a manufacturer to go

bankrupt or unexpectedly lose money.

• Stores are paid a flat .08 handling fee in most cases plus the face value of the coupon. This is a profitable practice!

• Manufacturer’s specifically budget for coupon distribution. They “plan” on tempting you to buy their product at a reduced price.

• Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty or ashamed for using coupons.

Powerful Points

• Have Enough Coupons

• Know Your Stockpile Price

• Buy as much as you can

Page 17: Drug store deals self study

CVS

• Make sure you have an extra care card• Always carry it with you!• Limit of one per name but you can have

multiples in your household.• ECB’s actually print on your receipt, not as

separate coupons• ECB’s have a one month shelf life

Page 18: Drug store deals self study

CVS

• Scan your Extra Care Card when you walk into the store

• ECB’s are tied to your card number. They will only work with that card!

• Rainchecks will include the ECB deal as long as it is written on the raincheck!

• Sign up online at CVS.com and you will get a $4/$20 Store Coupon

Page 19: Drug store deals self study

CVS

• You can earn Quarterly ECB’s. You get 2% on every purchase (OOP). • $1 for every 2 prescriptions filled• Automatically print on your receipt the 1st time you shop after the

end of the quarter.• Green Bag Tags are .99 each and pay you $1 for every 4 times it is

scanned.• Quarterly ECB’s, Green Bag Tag ECB’s and Raincheck ECB’s actually

count as store coupons and will reduce your taxable amount!• Regular ECB’s do not reduce your taxable amount.• If you have ECB’s that are more than the total of your order, you can

choose to forfeit the overage. (not sure why you would do this)

Page 20: Drug store deals self study

CVS

• On a promotion where you must purchase $20 of certain products, it is before coupons!

• You do not need to buy them all in the same trip!

• Number of items vs. the number of coupons does not matter at CVS

• As always, to get the maximum value, “roll” your ECB’s into transactions that give you more ECB’s!

Coupon Etiquette

• Organize your coupons before you hand them to the cashier• Write in any prices for free items prior to presenting them to the cashier.

This keeps the line moving• Only use coupons for what you have• Take it easy on the stores with the competitor coupons. Overuse will ruin

it for everybody.• Remain pleasant throughout your transaction. From my experience many

cashiers are working out of necessity and this is their second job. You will get much further with sugar than you will with salt.

• Get to know your management. By building a relationship and opening the lines of communication with the management, you will be able to get things done.
