DRIVING DIRECTIONS FOR THE SPONSORED BY ENNIS GARDEN CLUB PLEASE NOTE: These directions are written from Ennis Convention and Visitors Bureau, located at 002 East Ennis Ave., Ennis, Texas 75119. THESE ARE DRIVING TRAILS! IMPORTANT STATUS- APRIL 20-30, 2016 The Ennis Bluebonnet Trails have peaked and the recent storms and rains have caused the grasses to grow taller than most of the flowers. Ennis Garden Club recommends coming back next April 2017! It is only a pretty country drive at this time with a few flowers. If you do drive the trails, please follow the instructions below. BEST TRAIL: North Trail (N) Turn (L) on Ennis Ave. and travel to IH-45. Go north on IH-45 and take Exit #259- (Jefferson St. Exit), FM 813 (approx. 8 miles north). Turn (R) on FM 813 and drive east and veer (R) past Sugar Ridge Rd. and stay straight on FM 660 to CRISP. Take a sharp (L) at CRISP on Union Hill Rd, and follow Union Hill Rd. and stay straight to Andrews. Take a (L) on Slate Rock and a (L) on Stacks and take a (R) on FM 660. Take a (L) on Sugar Ridge Road to FM 813. Turn (R) on FM 813 to return (L) on FM 879 or (R) to FM 813 back to IH-45. (Photo opportunities are across from 1000 Sugar Ridge Rd on 13 acres for photos “in” and “of” the bluebonnets and on Andrews Rd.) South Trail (S): Hwy 1181 (Creechville Rd) has a couple of fields. You may travel Hwy 1181 (Creechville Rd) at exit 251A from IH-45. Parks to have a picnic, to hike, and to enjoy a nice playground. Bluebonnet Park -(E) on map- 201 S. Hwy 287: Travel west on Ennis Ave. to Ennis Pkwy, turn (L) on Ennis Pkwy and cross over the Hwy 287 Bypass and turn (L) at stop sign. Bluebonnet Park is on the right. Walk across the bridge and there are two fun photo props for photos (not many bluebonnets) and Meadow View Nature Area on your map- (bottom left corner of map near Lake Bardwell) on Laneview off of S. Hwy 34 (please enter off of S. Hwy 34 to Laneview) Area for pictures “of” and “in” the bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush but not many left. Only open 8:30 am-8:00 pm each day through April 30 th .
