What is DADS. ?

Driver Alertness Detection System (DADS.) is a smartphone application that works with a small infrared camera. It provides visual and audible alerts of the operator’s impending loss of alertness or distracted driving. It can detect impending loss of alertness or sleep up to 2 hours before it occurs.

How Does DADS. Work? Utilizing biometric monitoring of 524 points on the driver’s head, DADS. detects and signals a driver’s impending loss of alertness sufficiently in advance – generally 45 minutes to two hours before the onset of sleep – so to enable appropriate action be taken well before the driver becomes a hazard to himself or others.

DADS. Is Not Intrusive

Since the driver isn’t in physical contact with the device, there is no interference with the driver’s performance. Moreover, since no image is collected it does not infringe on the driver’s privacy.
