Welcome Gordon Greenwood families, teachers and staff to the 2017/2018 year. My name is Christine Campbell and I am the new PAC president for this year. I am looking forward to try to carry on the tradition that our past PAC has upheld for so many years. Our new executive PAC members are;
President: Christine Campbell Vice President: Rebecca Budrow Secretary: Lynette Patten Treasurer: Kim Gill DPAC: Brian Martens Hot Lunch Coordinators: Janine Chow and Paula Smith Fundraising Coordinator: Christy Martin
Every parent at GGE is a member of the PAC and I invite everyone to come to our meetings. It is at these meetings that we discuss fundraisers and events being held at GGE. The PAC meets the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm in the library. We try to keep the meetings brief and we supply free childcare. It is at these meetings that we discuss fundraisers and events being held at GGE. Our new Principal, Ms Dawson, will be making a presentation at each meeting keeping us updated with everything going on at our school with our students and staff.
The main purpose of the PAC is to raise funds that can be put right back into the school. Money fundraised by the PAC has been used to build the playground, buy books, Ipads, computers, and supplies. All of the money raised at GGE goes right back into our school. Our goal as a PAC, is to make Gordon Greenwood Elementary School, the best it can be. We have an amazing staff and terrific students at GGE. Help us support them by taking part andhelping out at our school fundraisers.
If you cannot attend our meetings, we are always looking for help at our fundraising events and hot lunch programs. Find us on our website http://ggepac.wordpress.com and sign up to get the PAC gazette for our newsletters. FORD Drive4UR School will be our first fundraiser of the year on Saturday September 23. For every test drive, we can earn $20 withthe potentialto earn $6000.
Our current PAC treasurer, Kim Gill is stepping down after this year. As an executive position, this position must be filled or we can not operate as a PAC. This is a great opportunity foranyone interested, to work with her to learn the ropes.
I would like to thank the outgoing PAC members for all of their hard work and continued guidance. Stacey Shepherd, Marla Clark, Wiebke Szalay, Ally Parker and Leah Thomson haveall dedicated years to our school.Thank you for everything.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN!
Before and after school is a very busy time at the front of
the school, in the parking lot, and along 206th Avenue
as kids arrive for the day and leave at the end of the
day. Please drive carefully along 206th and proceed
with caution in our school parking lot as well as in our
pick up/drop off lanes in front of the school.
As parents, keeping our kids safe is a top priority.
Cobs Dough Raiser Program Every time you make a purchase at Cobs Bread they will donate 5%
of your total to Gordon Greenwood.
All you have to do is mention you are with Gordon Greenwood Elementary and it’s done.
Andrew presented a cheque to the PAC for just under $500 for last school year! Thank you Andew!
Important Reminder about Nuts
Gordon Greenwood Elementary is a nut free/peanut
free school. We have many children with serious tree
nut and peanut allergies so please DO NOT send any
tree nut or peanut containing products to school in
your children’s lunches.
Let’s all work together to keep our kids safe. We
appreciate your understanding and support.
Hot Lunch Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to hand out Hot Lunch. It will take approximately 30 minutes once
a month. If you are able to help please email [email protected] with your name, the
students name and their division. We really appreciate all your help and couldn’t do this without
you! We will send out an email reminder when Hot Lunch is open for ordering.
Our current PAC treasurer, Kim Gill is stepping down after this year. As an executive position, this position must be filled or we can not operate as a PAC. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested to work with her this year to
learn the ropes.
