7.3 SOLVING LINEAR SYSTEMS BY ELIMINATION
STEPS FOR SOLVING A LINEAR SYSTEM BY ELIMINATION:
STEP 1: Multiply the equations if necessary so one of the variables in both equations have the same coefficient.
STEP 2: Add or subtract the equations to eliminate one variable.
STEP 3: Solve the resulting equation for the other variable.
STEP 4: Substitute in either original equation to find the value of the eliminated variable.
THIS IS MUCH EASIER WITH AN EXAMPLE!
