Drill #2 – 4 Dots Goalie Warm-up (10 mins for 60min): Version A (only do this one in 60 min sessions): X1 starts with puck and passes to X2 on opposite blue line. X1 follows pass towards X2 then reverse pivots to the boards and takes return pass from X2 and goes back to end X1 started from and takes shot on net. After X2 passes, X2 grabs a second puck and passes to X3 and does same pattern but goes and shoots back at same end X2 started at. *Don’t shoot if goalie isn’t looking and ready. Player may have to delay

SPLIT FORWARDS AND DEFENCE AT THIS POINT AND MOVE TO HALF ICE

Forward Drill #4 – Agility Skate / 2 Shots and Deke (12 mins) 3 cones set up in front of each goalie as shown. X1 start in the middle with puck and skates to lower right cone, tight turn to outside and then skate back around all three cones. After passing last cone take shot in stride. After shot player turns out away from goalie and goes back towards top cone. X2 (or coach) hits X1 with a pass from the wall and X1 goes to opposite lower cone for second shot in stride. After second shot, player again turns out away from goalie and goes back top cone. X2 (or coach) hits X1 with another pass and X1 goes in for shot or deke. Same drill both sides of the ice. Change the side players start from. Key Points: players need to accelerate around cones and shoot in stride (forehand and backhand).

Forward Drill #5 – 3 on 0 Break-out and Attack (12 mins)

Key Points: communication (call for puck), read off the other players, create attack triangle on the attack.
