Transcript of Dräger TSW Elephant Rescue and buoyancy vest for ... · PDF filesuch as tactical diving,...
The world’s first universal diving harness integrating the rebreatherprovides you with all four diving components needed for waterdepths up to 24 meters: basic vest, buoyancy compensator, weights release system and emergency ascent system. Thus, you are optimally prepared for all underwater deploymentssuch as tactical diving, submarine exit or SDV missions.
BASIC VEST
Ready for immediate useUsing the quick-release buckles, therebreather can be attached to the basicvest within a matter of seconds. Evenunder water, the rebreather can be quicklydonned and doffed without any problems.
Ballistic protection according to protection class 1 or 4 The interior of the basic vest features easilyaccessible zippered pockets, which can beused to store protection class 1 ballisticpanels and protection class 4 ceramic panels to provide ideal protection for yourchest and back. Made of highly tear resist-ant CORDURA® tissue, the basic vest issewn using a special yarn for ballisticvests.
High wearing comfortThe weight of the basic vest is equally dis-tributed, providing neutral buoyancy to thewearer. The belts can be easily adjusted, allowing the rebreather to be donnedquickly and comfortably. The belt bucklescan be found safely and intuitively. Thanksto the lacings at the sides, the vest can bequickly adjusted to each individual wearer.
Plenty of space for additional equipment Additional equipment, such as bags, holsters or cylinders, can be attached tothe 50 mm wide waist belt or to the Mollesystem in the chest area. Hand-cuff-tiescan be stored in the two shoulder pockets.
Robust and tested in water with temperatures as low as -4 °C The basic jacket consists of highlytearproof CORDURA® tissue and issewed robust even in cold water.
BUOYANCY COMPENSATOR
Easy inflating and deflatingDesigned for open water applications, thebuoyancy compensator is arranged undera cover of elastic webbing at the back ofthe basic vest. The buoyancy controldevice can be inflated using an inflatorhose or medium pressure port with quick-release coupling. The hose can be mount-ed at the left or at the right. To deflate thecompensator, simply pull the inflator hoseor open the mouthpiece valve.

Compact, aqua-dynamic shapeThe U-wing shape of the buoyancy com-pensator significantly reduces water resis-tance. The elastic webbing firmly pressesthe empty buoyancy control device to thebasic vest; all belts or hoses fit close to thevest.
11 L buoyancy compensation volumeThe 11 L control device provides comfortable and aerodynamic buoyancycompensation.
LEAD WEIGHTS SYSTEM
Space for additional weightsThe basic vest contains pockets for trimweights with up to 4 kg of soft lead. Thecentral rear area, adjacent to the pocketsand below the buoyancy control device, contains an ejectable weight system. Upto 10 kg of soft lead can be stored in fivevariable pockets on the base plate. Theindividual pockets are interconnected andprotected by an additional cover.
Simply eject in case of emergencyIf you need additional buoyancy in case ofemergency, simply pull the rip cord withthe soft release handle located above theleft hip. The weight system with storedlead weights will immediately be releasedfrom the basic vest.
EMERGENCY ASCENT SYSTEM
Additional buoyancy compensationvolume in case of emergencyIn case of emergency, pull the right rip cordwith the hard release handle positionedabove the hip. The two CO2 cartridges atthe back of the basic vest will open imme-diately. A separate chamber inside thebuoyancy compensator, and the lateralbuoyancy devices stored in the two lateralpockets, will be inflated – 48 L of additionalbuoyancy compensation volume at your disposal.
Stable dorsal position at the surface Due to the special elephant foot shape ofthe two lateral buoyancy devices, a largeportion of the total volume is distributed
next to the rebreather worn on the chest. The weight of the rebreather is almost fullycompensated, meaning that the wearer willautomatically be brought into a stableremove Face-Up position on the surface ofthe water
Easy to locate for rescuersThanks to the eye-catching elephant feet, you can quickly identify and rescue yourbuddies in the water.
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES
Release protection deviceWeight release and emergency ascent canbe locked using clearly visible locking devices, thus preventing systems frombeing inadvertently released.
Rescue strapA strap made of a strong belt material ispositioned in the neck area. It allows yourbuddies to secure you and help you getout of the water quickly.
Approved according to DIN ISO 9001
