lJames "Bruiser" Flint is in his seventh season as

Drexel's head coach. Flint has established Drexelas one of the top programs in the CAA since arriv-ing on the University City campus in 2001. TheDragons have advanced to the postseason in fourof the last five years and have won at least 17games four times.

Flint led the Dragons to 23 wins last year, themost wins for a Drexel team since the 1995-96season. Drexel finished 23-9 overall and won 13road games, tying for the most in all of Division I.The Dragons won at nationally-ranked Syracuse, atVillanova and at Creighton in front of the largestcrowd ever to see a game in the state of Nebraska.In addition, Flint became the first coach in Drexelhistory ever to beat three Philadelphia Big 5 teamsin one season. He won his second NABC District

Coach of the Year Award as the Dragons narrowly missed out on an NCAA at-large berth.

A two-time CAA Coach of the Year, Flint's teams have won at least 11 confer-ence games five times. Flint has a 112-79 record at the school and an impressive69-39 (.639) mark in CAA play. He has already moved into fourth place in careerwins at Drexel. Since his arrival, the Dragons have had the CAA Defensive Playerof the Year on four occasions, have had 10 All-CAA selections and nine membersof the conference's All-Defensive team.

Flint completed his third third stint with USA Basketball in July. Flint was anassistant coach for the USA Under 19 National Team. He served under JerryWainright from De Paul as the team competed in Novi Sad, Serbia. During thesummer of 2005, Flint was an Assistant Coach for the USA Under 21 WorldChampionship Team that played in Mar del Plata, Argentina. The team posted a7-1 record. His first stint came as a court coach prior to the Global Games.

During the 2004-05 season, despite key injuries to a number of players,Drexel had a 17-12 mark and a 12-6 record in the CAA. The Dragons, playingwithout two injured starters, took MAC runner-up Buffalo to overtime on itshome court in the opening round of the NIT. It was the third straight season Flintled a Drexel team to the postseason.

In 2003-04, Flint was named the CAA Coach of the Year after leading a teampicked to finish in a tie for fourth place to a second-place finish with a 13-5league record. The Dragons won 12 of their last 15 regular-season games and fin-ished just one game behind Virginia Commonwealth. Overall, Flint's team fin-ished 18-11 and advanced to the NIT for the second straight season. The Dragonslost at Villanova in the first round.

In his second season, Flint returned the Dragons to the postseason for thefirst time in six years. Drexel won 19 games and finished 12-6 in the CAA. TheDragons won two games at the CAA Tournament and advanced to the champi-onship game. Drexel lost in the finals, but was rewarded with a bid to the NIT,only the sixth postseason appearance in the school's history.

Flint, who owns a 198-151 career record, returned home to his nativePhiladelphia when he took over as Drexel's head coach on April 5, 2001. In hisfirst year, Flint led a team that was picked to finish ninth in the CAA to an 11-7mark, tying them for third in the league. The Dragons finished with a 14-14record. For his efforts, Flint was named the CAA Men's Basketball Coach of theYear. Flint picked up his 100th career victory in Drexel's 68-65 win against UNCWilmington on Feb. 18, 2002.

Flint arrived at Drexel after a 12-year stint at UMass. He was an assistantcoach for seven seasons before becoming the school's 17th head basketballcoach. He was 86-72 at UMass (52-28 in Atlantic 10 play) and led three of histeams to postseason play and was the NABC District I Co-Coach of the Year in1998. Flint was the fastest coach in UMass history to reach 30 wins and was thewinningest first-year coach ever at UMass. He spent two seasons as an assistantcoach at Coppin State University before joining the UMass staff.

A 1987 Saint Joseph's graduate, Flint, 42, was a four-year letterwinner withthe Hawks. He was All-Atlantic as a senior and led the Hawks to the 1986 A-10championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament as a junior. The Hawks alsomade NIT appearances in 1984 and 1985. He was inducted into the Saint Joseph'sAthletic Hall of Fame in 1998 and graduated with a degree in financial manage-ment.

Drexel is now in its seventh year in the CAA. Drexel, Delaware, Hofstraand Towson joined the league after leaving the America EastConference in 2001. Georgia State and Northeastern began play in theCAA during the 2005-06 season. They joined George Mason, JamesMadison, UNC Wilmington, Old Dominion, Virginia Commonwealth andWilliam & Mary.

The 2006-07 season marked the second straight year that the CAA pro-duced a pair of NCAA teams and two NIT teams. VCU won the CAATournament, while Old Dominion earned anat-large bid. VCU knocked off Duke in thefirst round of the NCAA before falling toPittsburgh in overtime. ODU was beaten byButler in the first round. Drexel and Hofstraeach advanced to the National InvitationTournament. The Dragons season endedwith a loss to ACC runner-up North CarolinaState, while Hofstra fell to DePaul.

During the 2005-06 season, George Mason,an at-large team, defeated Michigan State,North Carolina, Wichita State and UConn onthe way to the Final Four. UNC Wilmingtonwon the CAA Tournament and earned an automatic berth to the NCAATournament, where they lost to George Washington in overtime.Hofstra and Old Dominion each went to the NIT that season.

The Dragons on TelevisionThe Dragons on TelevisionThe Drexel men’s basketball team will make a record number oftelevision appearances this season. The Dragons will have atleast 17 regular-season games televised on four different net-works. In addition, the Dragons could get another appearance, asthey will participate in ESPN’s BracketBusters for the fourthstraight year. The 2008 CAA Tournament quarterfinals, semifi-nals and championship game will be televised as well.

Dragons at Home Dragons at Home Since Bruiser Flint took over at Drexel, the Dragons haveposted a 56-19 (.746) record in the Daskalakis AthleticCenter. Over the past four seasons, the Dragons are 39-13 in the building. Overall, Flint’s teams are 57-24 in“home” games, which include occasional contests at thePalestra. This year Drexel plays two home games at thePalestra. The Dragons fell to Temple in the building onDec. 15 and host Saint Joseph’s there on New Year’sEve.

The Dragons will continue their six-game homestand onNew Year’s Eve against Saint Joseph’s University in thePalestra. It will be a doubleheader as the Drexel women’steam will face American prior to the men’s game.

Drexel will then host CAA conference opponentsUNC Wilmington and Delaware before traveling to Bostonto face Northeastern on Jan. 9. and to Towson to facethe Tigers on Jan. 12. The team will vacate the DAC asthe U.S. Olympic Trials - Table Tennis will be hosted atthe building.

Drexel graduated four players from last year’s team,including three starters. Chaz Crawford was last year’sCAA Defensive Player of the Year. He led the league inrebounding and blocks, and is second and fifth, respec-tively, in those categories all-time at Drexel. BashirMason was the only player in CAA history to be namedto the league’s All-Defensive team four times. He hadover 1,100 career points, is second all time in steals andthird in assists at DU. Dominick Mejia started at guardand scored over 1,000 points in his career at Drexel aftertransferring from N.C. State and set the school mark forthree pointers in a season with 92. Walk-on JakeRauchbach was also lost to graduation. Last season’ssenior class went to the postseason three times.

The Dragons are scheduled to play 31 games this seasonwith the Philly Classic counting as an exempt event.Drexel has 13 games at the DAC, including non-confer-ence games with Bucknell and Rider. The Dragons havealready hosted Missouri Valley-power Creighton. Drexelwill once again play in the ESPN BracketBusters series atthe DAC.

The Dragons have five games at the Palestra. Two ofthose game are home contests (vs. Saint Joseph’s andTemple), while two of the four Philly Hoop Group Classicgames were also held at the storied arena. Drexel playedagainst the host Quakers in the Palestra to start the sea-son.

Drexel has just four non-conference road games, butthree of those are against teams that went to the post-season (Penn, Toledo, Virginia). Florida Gulf Coast host-ed the Dragons in its first home game as a Division Ischool.

Coach Flint has had 20 of his former players go on toplay professional basketball, including eight since hetook over as the head coach at Drexel.

Chaz Crawford and Dominick Mejia are the latest play-ers to play professionally. Crawford is playing in Turkey,while Mejia played in the Dominican Republic. Phil Goss,Sean Brooks, Kenell Sanchez, Eric Schmieder, TimWhitworth and Robert Battle are all still active.

Drexel has also produced two NBA players. CurrentNew York Knick Malik Rose led Drexel to three NCAAtournament appearances and won two NBA titles.Michael Anderson, the school’s all-time leader in scoring,played with the San Antonio Spurs for one season.

New Look DragonsNew Look DragonsDrexel has seven players who will be on the bench andready to contribute this season. Three freshmen havemade their collegiate debut. Jamie Harris, Gerald Coldsand Adrian Hynes-Guery are three guards brought in bythe coaching staff. Harris and Colds are from New YorkCity, while Hynes-Guery is a Montreal native.

Drexel will also have Yannick Formbor and EvanNeisler in the line-up. Formbor redshirted last season,while Neisler had to sit out last year as a transfer. Hecame to the Dragons from Boston College and has threeyears of eligibility remaining.

Chris Mohl, a junior, and Stuart Cameron, a sopho-more are two new walk-on players to this year’s team.

He made amemorable collegiate debut with 18 points, including six three-pointers, in the win at Penn. Colds started the Dragons’ lasttwo games against Temple and Bucknell. The Big Man in the MiddleThe Big Man in the MiddleFrank Elegar was named as a Preseason First Team All-CAAselection. The senior had double-doubles in his first two gamesand has three this season. He had a 24-point, 14-reboundcareer-high performance vs. Navy and was 12-for-15 from theline. Elegar had a big performance at No. 23 Virginia. TheBronx native scored a game-high 23 points despite being dou-ble teamed virtually every time down court. He was 8-for-14against the Cavaliers.

Elegar was named the MVP in the Liberty Bracket of the PhillyHoop Group Classic. He scored 21 points in 21 minutes as theDragons defeated Loyola (Md.) in the championship game.Elegar is sixth in the CAA in field-goal percentage at .591. He isalso seventh in the CAA in rebounding (6.9), 14th in scoring(13.7) and sixth in blocks per game.

Changing of the GuardChanging of the GuardWith the graduation of Bashir Mason and Dominick Mejia,Tramayne Hawthorne is emerging as the leader in the back-court. The junior has the chance to be one of the top perimeterdefenders and one of the top long-range threats in the CAA.Hawthorne exploded for a career-best 22 points, includingeight in a row to start an 18-0 run in the win at FGCU. He issecond on the team in scoring at 11 points per game. He leadsthe Dragons in assists (40), minutes played (32.6) and stealswith 18. Hawthorne has 23 three-pointers on the season and isnow tied for 19th on Drexel’s career three-point list. He hasscored at least 10 points in seven games this season.

Dragon “D”Dragon “D”Despite losing two of the best defenders the school has had inrecent memory, the Drexel defense has picked up where it leftoff last season. During the 2006-07 season, the Dragons ledthe CAA in field-goal percentage defense at .402 and were sec-ond in scoring defense at 60.6. Chaz Crawford was the CAA’sDefensive Player of the Year and Bashir Mason was named tothe CAA All-Defensive Team for a record fourth time.

Through the team’s first 11 games this year, Coach Flint’steam is holding opponents to just .387 shooting from thefloor. That is the second lowest total in the Colonial AthleticAssociation. Drexel has also limited its opponents to just 62points per game, which is also second in the CAA.

Impact FreshmenImpact FreshmenThe Dragons' freshmen are making an immediate impact thusfar. Jamie Harris, from Wings Academy in New York, has start-ed every game at the point for Coach Flint. Harris has 28assists, 10 steals and averages 3.7 points per contest. GeraldColds, a St. Raymond’s product, has provided offense off thebench. Colds, who was named the CAA Rookie of the Week ear-lier in the year, is shooting 46 percent from long range and isfourth in the CAA in three-point percentage. He is also thirdon the team in scoring at 10 points per game. Adrian Hynes-Guery, Drexel’s other rookie, came off the bench in eightgames this season before being injured. He is out indefinitelywith a wrist injury.

Freshman Gerald Colds nailed two three-pointers in overtimein his collegiate debut as the Dragons defeated Penn in thePalestra, 67-59. It was the fourth straight win for the Dragonsover a Philadelphia Big 5 team, the first time in school historythat has happened.

Colds opened the overtime period with a trey to giveDrexel the lead. After Penn tied the contest at 57 with 2:23 toplay, Colds, on the next possession, hit his sixth three-pointerof the game to put Drexel ahead, 60-57. Frank Elegar came upwith a steal on Penn's next trip down court and when EvanNeisler hit a jump shot from the elbow with 1:20 left, theDragons were up by five and never looked back.

Drexel never trailed in the game, but had its 17-point leadcut to three with five seconds to play. Penn's Michael Kach wasfouled with five seconds left. He made the first free throw andmissed the second and the Quakers tied it on a Jack Egglestonput back with one second remaining to force the extra period.

The Dragons took a 37-24 lead to intermission, due inlarge part to Tramayne Hawthorne. The junior had 16 of hiscareer-high 18 points in the first half and knocked down fourthree pointers as Penn packed in a zone to try and take Elegarout of the game. Elegar was limited to just seven field goalattempts, but the senior still managed a double-double with 14points and 11 rebounds. He also blocked four shots and hadthree steals.

Colds finished with 18 points and was 6-for-9 from behindthe three-point stripe. The Dragons defense held the Quakersto just 31 percent shooting and forced 17 turnovers. Drexelshot 43 percent from the floor, but shot well from long range.Colds and Hawthorne combined for all 10 of the Dragonsthree-pointers in the game. Penn's Brian Grandieri led all play-ers with 23 points and added 10 rebounds.

Game 2 - Drexel 86, Navy 70 Game 2 - Drexel 86, Navy 70

Frank Elegar scored 24 points and had a career-high 14rebounds and four blocks as Drexel defeated Navy, 86-70, inthe first round of the Philly Hoop Group Classic.

For the second straight game, the Dragons got off to aquick start to take control of the contest. The Dragons went ona 12-2 run midway through the first half to take an 18-pointlead with just under seven minutes remaining. That leadextended to 20 points at the half when Tramayne Hawthornehit a jumper with 22 seconds left in the half to send theDragons to the locker room with a 49-29 led.

The pesky Midshipmen played well in the second half andchipped away at the Drexel lead. Kaleo Kina scored on a layupwith 3:36 to play to get the Midshipmen within eight points,but the Dragons answered with a 5-0 run to seal the victory.

Elegar was 6-for-9 from the floor and sank 12 of his 15free throw attempts. It was his second straight double-doubleand the ninth of his career. Hawthorne added 19 points andhad four steals. Gerald Colds was also in double figures with10 points. Evan Neisler came off the bench to score eightpoints and pick up eight rebounds. Chris Harris led fourMidshipmen in double figures with 16 points. Drexel shot justunder 51 percent from the floor, while Navy shot just 37 per-cent. Navy did make nine three pointers, including six in thesecond half, as they tried to chip away at the Drexel lead, thatgot to as high as 23 points.

Game 3 - Drexel 77, Florida Gulf Coast 58 Game 3 - Drexel 77, Florida Gulf Coast 58

Tramayne Hawthorne sparked an 18-0 run midway through thesecond half as Drexel improved to 3-0 with a 77-58 win atFlorida Gulf Coast. The Dragons shot a sizzling 68 percentfrom the field in the second half as the Dragons pulled awayfrom the Eagles (1-1), who were playing their first home gameas a Division I school.

Florida Gulf Coast took the lead with 17:07 to play whenTerike Barrowes scored on a lay-up to make it 44-43. It was thefirst time all season Drexel trailed in a game. The Eagles leaddidn't last for long. With the game tied at 47-47, Hawthornestarted the 18-0 run by scoring eight straight points. Heknocked down a pair of threes and then came up with a stealand scored on a breakaway lay-up. Florida Gulf Coast wasnever able to answer the run. Hawthorne finished the gamewith a career-high 22 points and six assists.

Drexel jumped out to a double figures lead midwaythrough the first half, but the Eagles got the Dragons in foultrouble and cut the lead to four points with just four secondsleft in the first half. However, Drexel stopped the Eagles'momentum when freshman Gerald Colds nailed a three-pointerat the buzzer, just a few steps passed half court to make it a41-34 Drexel lead at the break.

Colds had another strong game off the bench offensively.He scored 12 points and had four three-pointers. ScottRodgers added 11 points and seven rebounds and had threetreys.

The Drexel bench scored 27 points in its best performanceof the season. Evan Neisler scored seven points and had sixrebounds, while Kenny Tribbett, who played a key role withFrank Elegar in foul trouble, had six points and five rebounds.

Game 4 - No. 23 Virginia 72, Drexel 58 Game 4 - No. 23 Virginia 72, Drexel 58

Virginia went on a 14-3 run early in the second half to breakopen a close game and defeat Drexel, 72-58, in the secondgame of the Philly Hoop Group Classic. The Dragons held theCavaliers to just 38 percent shooting from the floor in front ofa crowd of 10,975 but the No. 23 Cavaliers (4-0) drained halfof their long range attempts and missed just four free throwsin the contest.

Drexel trailed by only two points at 32-30 with 17 minutesleft after Frank Elegar scored on a lay-up. Elegar, who scored agame-high 23 points, scored the team's first eight points in thefinal 20 minutes. Virginia slowly pulled away by scoring 13points off turnovers and converting 15 of 18 free throws in thesecond half.

The Dragons played well defensively early on and held theCavaliers without a point for more than six minutes to startthe game. However, Drexel managed just two field goals duringthat stretch. The game went back and forth until Virginia tookthe lead for good with 3:25 to play when Sean Singletary sanka three-pointer. After a Drexel turnover, Calvin Baker scored ona short jumper to put the Cavs up by four. Elegar answered,but Virginia went on a mini-run to end the half ahead by ascore of 31-25.

Singletary led Virginia with 24 points. He was held incheck early by the Drexel defense, especially TramayneHawthorne but was able to make all three of his long-rangeattempts and shoot 7-for-8 from the line. Singletary was 7-for-19 from the floor and was forced into eight turnovers. MamadiDiane, Adrian Joseph and Calvin Baker each added 11 points.Virginia outrebounded the Dragons by a 44-27 margin andgrabbed 17 offensive boards.

Hawthorne added 10 points, while Randy Oveneke addedseven points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Drexel defense held Robert Morris to less than 30 percentshooting from the floor as the Dragons defeated the Colonials,56-40, in the Philly Hoop Group Classic. With the victory, theDragons advanced to the championship game of the LibertyBracket against Loyola (Md.) on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

The Dragons (4-1) raced out to an early nine-point lead.They extended the margin with a 12-0 run, capped by fivestraight points from Tramayne Hawthorne that gave Drexel a27-10 lead. The Colonials (2-2) were not able to cut the lead toless than 10 points the rest of the way, despite Drexel's strug-gles on offense. Drexel turned the ball over a season-high 26times and made just nine of its 23 free throw attempts. Thedefense was the story once again for Drexel, who has yet toallow a team to shoot better than 40 percent from the fieldthis season. Robert Morris, who entered the game averagingmore than 90 points per game, shot just 1-for-16 from behindthe arc and made only 37 percent of its free throws (7-19).

Despite the struggles from the charity stripe, Drexel didmanage to make seven of 14 three-point attempts. FreshmanGerald Colds led the Dragons with 14 points and was 3-for-4from three-point territory. Hawthorne also hit three treys andadded 11 points and five assists. Frank Elegar was limited dueto foul trouble, but did manage 10 rebounds and a career-bestsix blocked shots. Randy Oveneke has a season-high nineboards.

No Colonial was able to reach double digits in scoring. A.J.Jackson and Mezie Nwigwe each scored seven points to leadRobert Morris.

Game 6 - Drexel 54, Loyola (Md.) 52Game 6 - Drexel 54, Loyola (Md.) 52

Frank Elegar scored 21 points and Evan Neisler had two keyplays in the final minutes as Drexel defeated Loyola (Md.), 54-52, in the championship game of the Liberty Bracket in thePhilly Hoop Group Classic. The Dragons went on an 18-0 runearly in the second half to take control of the game and heldoff a late Loyola run to edge the Greyhounds.

Loyola trailed by as many as 11 points, but chipped awayat the lead down the stretch. When Gerald Brown sank a longtrey with the shot clock expiring, Loyola trailed by just threewith 2:36 remaining. After a Drexel turnover, Brown had a lay-up swatted away by Neisler at the 1:34 mark. Neisler alsograbbed the defensive board. Drexel’s Jamie Harris had a shortjumper bounce off the rim on the next offensive possession,and again Neisler came up big. He grabbed the offensive boardand jammed it home on a put back with less than a minute toplay to make it a five-point lead.

The Greyhounds cut it to two with 28 seconds left whenBrett Harvey converted all three free throws after an ill-advisedfoul by Harris on a long-range attempt. With Loyola pressing,Neisler fed Elegar for a breakaway dunk to make it a 51-47game. Brown drained another three with 16 seconds left, butElegar hit a pair of freebies and Scott Rodgers made one of twofree throws in the final 13 seconds to seal the victory.

Loyola scored on it first possession of the second half totake a seven-point lead, but the Dragons countered with the18-0 run and held Loyola without a point for a span of 7:28 totake a 38-27 lead. Elegar had nine of his 21 points and GeraldColds knocked down a pair of three pointers during the run.

The Drexel defense continued its stellar play as it heldLoyola to just 30 percent shooting from the floor. The Dragonshave not allowed an opponent to shoot better than 40 percentthis season and it was the fourth game the Dragons allowedless than 60 points. Elegar finished the game 8-for-14 from thefloor and was the MVP, despite playing just 21 minutes due tofoul trouble. He was also 5-for-6 from the line. Colds addednine points, all coming via the three-point shot.

Game 7 - George Mason 85, Drexel 38Game 7 - George Mason 85, Drexel 38

George Mason opened the game with a 29-9 run and handedDrexel an 83-38 loss in both teams Colonial AthleticAssociation opener. The loss dropped Drexel's record to 5-2overall and snapped a two-game winning streak.

The Patriots (6-1) shot 51 percent from the floor and had10 three-pointers. Dre Smith had a big game for Mason with 16points. He made four three-pointers and had four assists. Itwas the first time all season a Drexel opponent shot betterthan 40 percent from the field.

Tramayne Hawthorne led the Dragons with 11 points.Gerald Colds added 10 points off the bench, all in the secondhalf. The Dragons committed 16 turnovers and shot just 30percent from the field. In the first half, the Dragons wereoutscored 40-15, and made only seven of their 26 attempts.They were also outrebounded 42-28. Yannick Formbor ledDrexel with a career-high six rebounds.

Game 8 - Creighton 72, Drexel 48Game 8 - Creighton 72, Drexel 48

Creighton avenged its loss to the Dragons in last year'sBracketBusters matchup in Omaha, Neb. with a 72-48 victoryover Drexel in the return game at the Daskalakis AthleticCenter. With the loss the Dragons fell to 5-3, while the Bluejaysremained unbeaten at 5-0.

Creighton was in control for most of the game, but theDragons made a mini-run to cut the lead to 48-36 with 7:19remaining. Frank Elegar, who was limited due to foul trouble,scored five straight points in the run, but Elegar was thencalled for a foul on Creighton's next possession, which fouledhim out of the game. Right after the foul was called, Drexel'sRandy Oveneke was given a technical foul, and Drexel coachBruiser Flint was also assessed a technical. Creighton made allsix free throws, which sealed the Dragons' fate.

The Dragons struggled handling the ball for the secondstraight game. They committed a season-high 29 turnovers inthe game, including 18 in the first half. The Bluejays tookadvantage of those turnovers and went on an 8-0 run over thefinal 3:47 of the first half to take a 31-18 lead at intermission.

Tramayne Hawthorne led the Dragons with 12 points. Hewas the only Dragon in double figures. Elegar added ninepoints, while Gerald Colds and Kenny Tribbett came off thebench to score seven and six points, respectively. Creightonwas led by Cavel Witter who was 10-for-10 from the line andfinished with 20 points. The Bluejays shot 87 percent from theline (20-23) in the game, and made their final 14 attempts.

Drexel fell behind early and could not recover as Toledodefeated the Dragons, 57-44. The loss dropped the Dragons’record to 5-4 on the season.

The Rockets (2-7), playing in their first home game sinceNov. 13, held the Dragons without a field goal for more thanseven minutes as they went on a 19-2 run to take a 26-8 leadearly in the contest. Turnovers were once again a key to thegame, as the Dragons committed 15 in the first half. Theteams went to intermission with the Rockets ahead, 36-19.

Drexel played more inspired in the second half and cut thelead to 12 points on a few occasions, but the Dragons strug-gled to make shots most of the night. Entering the game,Drexel was shooting just under 39 percent from long range,but managed to make just one three-point attempts in 15attempts against the Rockets.

Frank Elegar who picked up two fouls in the first two min-utes, managed 12 points and eight rebounds. He was 6-for-7from the floor in just 23 minutes. Elegar was the only Dragonin double figures. Randy Oveneke, Tramayne Hawthorne andGerald Colds each added six points. Hawthorne was 0-for-7from behind the arc, marking the first time all year he did notmake a three-pointer. Oveneke added five rebounds and hadfour steals.

Tyrone Kent led four Rockets in double figures with 14points. Jerrah Young had a double-double with 12 points and10 rebounds. Toledo had 22 turnovers, as did the Dragons, butshot 46 percent in the game and made six treys. JonathanAmos had six of the Rockets' 12 steals.

Game 10 - Temple 64, Drexel 51Game 10 - Temple 64, Drexel 51

Temple ended the game on an 11-2 run and defeated Drexel,64-51, at the Palestra. Frank Elegar scored 16 of his 18 pointsin the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Dragons wereheld to one field goal in the final six minutes of play. Bothteams are now 5-5 on the season.

Drexel led by one with 16:49 to play but the Owls went ona 14-4 run to take the lead for good. Dionte Christmas hadseven of his team-high 17 points during that stretch. Drexelanswered as Elegar scored the next 10 Drexel points to cut thelead to four. Her ended up scoring Drexel's final 12 points ofthe game and all but four of their second-half points.

The first half also featured big stretches without points forboth teams. Temple jumped out to a 27-17 lead, but theDragon defense tightened in the closing minutes of the half.Temple was held without a point for a stretch of more thanseven and a half minutes as Drexel took the lead. Temple final-ly got back on the board when Chris Clark hit a three-pointerwith just 29 seconds to play. That bucket cut the Drexel leadto 31-30 and the two teams went to the break separated byjust one point.

The Dragons played well on the glass and outreboundedthe Owls, 40-29. Elegar had 12 rebounds, giving him his thirddouble-double of the season. Evan Neisler had a career-high 11rebounds, including 10 in the first half. Drexel struggled fromthe floor in the second half and was just 8-of-27 (.296) in thesecond half.

Mark Tyndale scored 14 points, handed out seven assists,grabbed eight rebounds and picked up four steals for theOwls. Ryan Brooks and Sergio Olmos each added 10 points.Brooks had eight of his points down the stretch including apair of three-pointers.

Gerald Colds was the only other Dragons in double fig-ures.. He scored all 11 of his points in the first half and alsohad four assists.

Scott Rodgers scored a season-high 18 points and Frank Elegarhad 16 points in the second half, including the 1,000th of hiscareer as Drexel defeated Bucknell, 65-53.

The Dragons raced out to an big early lead and led 34-15at the half. The Dragons' defense allowed just six field goals inthe first half and the Bison (4-6) shot just 21 percent from thefloor. Drexel (6-5) knocked down five three-pointers in the half,including three by Rodgers, who had 13 of his 18 points in thefirst 20 minutes.

Elegar, who also had his 500th career rebound in the game,was held without a shot in the first half and was saddled withtwo early fouls. He bounced back in the second half by makingall four of his shots from the field and going 8-for-8 from thefree-throw line.

Kenny Tribbett came off the bench to score 10 points andgrab five rebounds. Freshman Jamie Harris handed out acareer-high six assists without a turnover as Drexel committeda season-low 13 miscues.

John Griffin led Bucknell with 11 points, but was just 3-for-11 from the floor and 1-for-7 from long range. G.W. Boonadded 10 points.
