JEWELLERY

Girls and boys may wear a wrist watch.

Girls may wear a single pair of small plain studs (less than 5 mm) or small plain hoops (smaller than a 5 cent piece) both to be only silver or gold in the bottom of the ear lobes.

For boys, earrings are NOT permitted.

HAIR

Haircuts must be neat; hair must be cut above the collar (off the ears and above the eyes). Exaggerated hair style or hair colour is not allowed.

Hair should be one natural colour with no contrasting highlights.

Girls who have hair that touches their collar must have it tied back neatly with a modest clip or hair-tie. (strands of hair hanging at the side of the face and long fringes in the eye are not acceptable)

Simple ribbons, clips and headbands in school colours of red, black, white and blue may be chosen.

If your hair cut, shape, colour or clip draws attention to yourself, it is probably not conservative enough.

GROOMING

Boys: Must be well groomed at

all times. Girls: Eye-shadow, lip gloss and

all other makeup is not permitted.

Only clear nail polish (no colour at all) is allowed.

SOCKS

Boys should ensure their socks are pulled up and reach to the knee.

Girls should wear plain white socks that contain no words or brand symbols. Unfolded sports socks are acceptable provided they are clearly

visible above the shoe and cover the ankle bone.

For PE and Sports Days, plain white socks or RGS Sports socks from Red & Black are required.

BELTS

Boys in Years 4 7 are expected to wear a belt through the keepers of their shorts and long trousers.

The belt is to be plain

black with a plain buckle. Branded or fancy buckles (eg of surf wear companies) are NOT permitted.

SHIRTS & SHORTS

Girls and boys shirts are to be regularly washed and ironed and must remain tucked in. If shirt sleeves are too long, they are not to be folded up.

Boys should ensure their shorts are worn on or above their hip and NOT be below knee length.

SHIRTS & SKIRTS

The blouse is to be worn outside the skirt. The red skirt is not to be folded over under the blouse.

Girls should ensure that their skirt length, for both day and formal uniform, is not above the knee.

HATS

Students are to wear a school hat whenever they are in school uniform and playing/walking in the sun. This includes entering and exiting the school in the daytime, sitting/playing in the sun during lunch breaks, and walking from or to the school.

The formal school hat is to be worn with the day and

formal uniforms; the white Grammar sports hat is to be worn with the PE uniform.

BAGS

The regulation School bag is to be used by all students.

If an extra bag is used to carry sports or other equipment it should be near to plain black and unbranded.

A plain black bag which is suitable for carrying swimming gear can be purchased in the Red & Black Shop.

SPORTS UNIFORMS

Are worn on class designated PE days. All shirts are tucked in.

Are worn for Years 5 7 Friday sport.

Plain black shorts, Grammar Red & Black or Sports House T shirts, sports socks, sports shoes and essential sports hat are to be worn unless the class is in the pool. Shorts are not to be rolled over at the waist. Shoes need to be predominately white.

For pool lessons, all students must wear plain black swimmers with plain black rashies. Shoes/thongs need to be worn when moving from the dressing area to the pool deck.

TIES

Boys in Years 4-7 need to wear their ties appropriately with the knot neatly and firmly at the top button of the shirt with the top button done up.

Boys ties are worn from May

until September with the day school uniform, as well as all year round with the formal uniform.
