Project Aware Fund Raising Day

What a great Event!

We would like to thank everyone involved in helping and supportingour Project AWARE fund raising day on Saturday 14th August.

Project AWARE Specialty Course

The fundraising started a couple of week previous to the actual

fundraising when six divers participated in the Project AWARE

Specialty course, during which spent several hours discussing

How Project AWARE helps to raise awareness of issues that

affect the worlds aquatic environment

What we as divers can do to help protect it for future

generations

All the different issues that each of us are concerned about

Possible future projects such as organising a beach clean up

Kids Project AWARE Session

Children are the future guardians of the planet,

so one of Project AWAREs major aims is helping

to educate people of all ages. So we held a

special Kids project AWARE session, before the

BBQ, which was a fun session for all involved,

learning all about the aquatic environment, and

some of the creatures that live in the different

habitats.

The BBQ and Auction

The BBQ and auction had a fantastic turn out ofover 50 people attending, with many members

bringing family and friends along to enjoy the fun.

It was really nice to meet everyone. I hope

everyone had a good time and got their turn on

the Wii dancing game, what a great laugh.

Once the BBQ got into full swing, everyone looked to be

enjoying themselves, with the food going down a treat, thanks

to our chefs Sue and Ley.

Then it was time for the raffle, the prize winners were

This was followed by the auction, everyone getting in the bidding swing, we were amazed by your

generosity, and hope you all enjoy your winning purchases.

After the auction finished the party really got in to full swin

continuing until the wee small hours. It was really a good jo

that we only had a pool session lined up for the following

day, as I bet we had quite a few sore heads!

All in all the fund raising day was a total success raising a

fantastic 1,149.50 towards Project AWARE.

Chaired by Alison SmallwoodMany thanks to all the people that managed to attend this months club meeting we still had a goodturn out with over 32 members attending.

Planning is now well underway for our club trips for 2011; if you have and preference for when anytrip is to take place please let us know. As you can see from the provisional schedule listed in the clubtrips dairy we are working on arranging trips to a couple of new destinations.

We now have 64 members who have paid their subscription for 2010.

Dream Divers Club Membership Fees are only 12 per person for the full year and in order to take fulladvantage of the benefits and discounts available to members; you need to have paid your

membership fees in full.

As Dive Club members, you can use the pool for only 5 per person, during our pool

sessions, using your own kit, or just 15 per person including rental of full kit.So whether you just want to refresh your skills, have a piece of new kit to try out or just havingthat burning desire to get wet.

Call the dive centre to book your place.
