BOLS GENEVER: Rich grains fill the distinct nose with sweet cherry and malt tones. Bols’ palate is rich and smooth with malt and juniper vying for domination, although both are just below the silky surface. The finish has tangy grass notes and is quite poignant as it leaves a sweetness behind.
LUXARDO MARASCHINO LIQUEUR: The distinctive flavor comes from the Marasca cherries, and the crushed cherry pits lend an almond-like flavor to Maraschino. Honey is also part of the ancient recipe. The distillate is allowed to mature for two years in Finnish ashwood vats (because this wood does not lend its color to the liqueur even after many years of maturing), and is then diluted and sugared.
COINTREAU is a brand of triple sec (an orange-flavored liqueur) produced in Saint-Barthélemy-d’Anjou, France. It is drunk as an apéritif and digestif, and is a component of several well-known cocktails.
APEROL: An Italian aperitif produced by the Barbieri company, based in Padua. Aperol is now produced by the Campari company. While Aperol was originally created in 1919, it did not become successful until after World War II. Its ingredients are, among others, bitter orange, gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona.
CREME DE YVETTE is a proprietary liqueur made from parma violet petals with blackberries, red raspberries, wild strawberries and cassis, honey, orange peel and vanilla.
SIRÈNE ABSINTHE VERTE has a beautiful, nuanced aroma and flavor. On first taste (after diluting with water of course), you’ll notice the classical absinthe trinity of herbs – anise seed, fennel and grand wormwood. As you continue to sip, additional flavors come forward, including floral, citrus, minty and bitter notes.
FERNET-BRANCA ITALIAN AMARO is a bitter, aromatic spirit made from over 40 herbs and spices, including myrrh, rhubarb, chamomile, cardamom, aloe, and saffron, with a base of grape distilled spirits, and colored with caramel coloring. The recipe is a secret, and was created by the young Maria Scala in 1845 in Milan as a medicine.
