Golden HOLIDAYS

WelcomeWelco

me

Dear Friends,

Welcome to our 2015 Brochure. It is a little later than usual this year, but well worth waiting for.

We’ve tried to keep our prices the same wherever possible; however some hotels have made a small increase.

Don’t forget our holiday vouchers, ideal as a Christmas, Birthday or Anniversary gift.

We produced our first tours back in 1994, over 20 years ago! Some of you will have travelled with us then and we hope that you

have enjoyed our holidays and will continue to do so.

As most of you will know Tim has been suffering with back problems for some considerable time and due to this he will be retiring

from driving at the end of the year. We will therefore be reducing the number of coaches that we operate so please make sure to

book early this year to avoid disappointment.

Clair will be taking more of the tours and on some you will see Matthew as usual.

For our younger clients, who do not require door to door pick ups, we have a selection of Weekend Breaks and ‘No Frills’ holidays

with pick up points; look out for our leaflets throughout the year. We have something for everyone this year, so get booking!

Thank you for choosing Golden Holidays, we look forward to seeing you again this year.

Pam & Tim

EXCURSIONS

All excursions are carefully planned to offer a balance of organised

and free time. The coach travel on all excursions is included in the

price; however, entrance fees, admission charges and show tickets

are not included in the price unless otherwise stated in the itinerary.

We reserve the right to alter, adjust and amend advertised itinerary

times and days depending on the weather, hotel meal times and other

influences outside of our control.

EXPERIENCED UNIFORMED DRIVERS/COURIERS

Our drivers/couriers have been selected not only for their high

standards of driving, but also for their caring, enthusiastic and friendly

manner. You will find them willing to listen to requests and special

needs, also to answer questions and queries throughout your tour. This

is the Golden Holidays policy as we value our customers and wish you

to come back time after time.

FINANCIAL SECURITY

Golden Holidays operate a ‘client trust fund account’ to comply with EU

Directive 30/314. In the unlikely event that we should cease trading you

are guaranteed repayment of all monies paid or the completion of your

holiday if it has already commenced.

LATE AVAILABILITY HOLIDAY

From time to time we are offered late availability holidays at short

notice at some very special prices. If you are able to drop everything at

short notice, then you might like to have your name added to our late

availability mailing list or your mobile number so that we can text you

with special offers. Please telephone now and ask for Pam.

GROUPS

If you are a group or party organiser please allow us to help, we have

a wealth of experience in organising all aspects of coach travel and

accommodation. Be it to organise a holiday, short break, outing or to

see a show, we are available to arrange a package tailor-made to suit

your individual requirements. Please telephone and ask for Pam or Tim.

HOTELS

All our hotels have been carefully selected with your comfort in mind.

Accommodation is based on bed, breakfast and evening meal, unless

otherwise stated, leaving plenty of time for the inclusive full and half day

excursions, enabling you to enjoy the surroundings, scenery and places of

interest. All bedrooms are en-suite with colour TV and tea/coffee making

facilities. Many of our hotels offer regular entertainment which includes

dancing, live music, bingo etc.

LUXURY COACH TRAVEL

Your safety is of paramount importance to us and our vehicles are

maintained to the highest standards. This together with our fleet being fitted

with road speed governors and conforming to the legal legislation safety

measures, ensures our commitment to your peace of mind. Coaches are

equipped with seat belts, reclining seats, tinted windows, curtains and some

with toilet and drinks machine.

DOOR-TO-DOOR PICKUP

You will be informed of your pickup time 7 days prior to departure. You will

be collected from your door by one of our ‘feeder’ mini coaches or by taxi

and taken to meet the main holiday coach at a suitable central location at

Tibshelf. This eliminates hours of travelling around various pickup points and

enabling the coach to commence its journey immediately after loading, the

reverse applies on return.

LUGGAGE

Your driver will take care of your luggage (you are not expected to carry

your own suitcase), but the company cannot accept responsibility for loss

or damage unless it can be proved that it is due to negligence on the

company’s part. We have now put a maximum limit of 15kgs (33lbs) in

weight and no larger than 26ins x 8ins x 15ins in size. If the weight or

size is exceeded there will be a £15 surcharge payable.

NO SMOKING

All coaches are designated NO SMOKING zones. Passengers are reminded

to refrain from smoking until the regular ‘comfort’ stops.

Due to Health & Safety, please adhere to our Luggage conditions below, if you require any guidance please call us and we will gladly help.

MorecambeThe 4 mile promenade gives a panoramic view across

Morecambe Bay, from Piel Island to the heart of the

Lakeland Hills. The northern mill towns provided the

first tourists to Victorian Morecambe which developed

from the merging of three villages. A short journey

away is the Lake District and Herriot’s Yorkshire.

The Auckland Hotel

The hotel’s special feature

is its cuisine, backed by home-

cooking and a delightful varied

menu. There is a selection of

lounges for you to relax in,

offering views of the Lakeland

Hills and Morecambe Bay.

The Settle to Carlisle Railway

This is one of England’s most

scenic railway journeys. One of

the last great mainline railways

to be built in this country, it was

completed for passenger travel in

1876. The landscape presented

a tremendous challenge,

requiring 72 miles of track, 20

major viaducts and 14 tunnels.

Today’s travellers can still enjoy

a dramatic and inspiring journey

through some of England’s most

magnificent landscape.

The Auckland hotel offers a very warm welcome.

transfer to a different holiday we shall do our utmost to satisfy your requirements, but

an administration charge will be payable

4) UK Holidays – CANCELLATION OF YOUR HOLIDAY – You or any member of

your party may cancel your UK holiday at any time up to six weeks prior to departure

date. Refunding of deposits is non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances

or any member of your party may cancel your Jersey or Europe holiday at any time

up to eight weeks prior to departure date. Refunding of deposits is non-refundable

except in exceptional circumstances and is solely at the discretion of Golden Holidays.

The following cancellation charges will apply at the discretion of Golden Holidays.

HOLIDAY CANCELLATION CANCELLATION CHARGE

42 to 15 days before departure date 50% of holiday cost

14 to 0 days before departure date 100% of holiday cost

6) TRAVEL TO JERSEY & EUROPE – It is a condition of your contract with Golden

Holidays that you have insurance to cover you in the event of illness or death during

your holiday.

7) COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE – Your custom is very valuable to us and if you have

a complaint during your holiday please inform your driver or courier immediately who

will do his or her utmost to resolve the problem. If the matter cannot be put right on

the spot please write to: Golden Holidays, Severn Square, Alfreton, Derbyshire

DE55 7BQ within 28 days of the completion of your holiday stating your name and

address, which holiday you were booked on and the nature of your complaint.

8) SECURITY OF YOUR HOLIDAY MONEY – Any money paid for your holiday/s

is held in a trust account which cannot be drawn by Golden Holidays until after the

completion of your holiday. This is to protect your holiday should Golden Holidays go

into liquidation or be made bankrupt by a third party. If this were to happen before or

during your holiday you would be able to receive all your money back.

9) OTHER TERMS – On your holiday you may not: (a) play a radio or cassette on the

coach; (b) bring a pet or any other animal (other than a guide dog and only by prior

arrangement); (c) smoke on the coach.

10) EXCURSIONS – Excursions are included in the price of your holiday and

refunds cannot be made if you do not wish to travel on these excursions.

Admission fees to buildings and grounds etc. are not included in the price of your

holiday. Golden Holidays reserve the right unconditionally to refuse a booking

or terminate a client’s holiday in the event of unreasonable conduct which in our

opinion is likely to cause distress, danger, damage or annoyance to other clients,

employees, property or to any third party. If you are prevented from travelling or

continuing your holiday by such a termination, Golden Holidays responsibility for

your holiday thereupon ceases, full cancellation charges will apply and Golden

Holidays will be under no obligation for any refund, compensation or loss which

you may incur.

11) RESERVATION OF YOUR HOLIDAY – After you have booked your holiday

and we have established that there is available space in the hotel and on the coach

we will reserve your place and you will receive confirmation.

12) PRICE OF YOUR HOLIDAY – The advertised price of your holiday is based

on two or more people sharing the room. However some hotels make an

additional charge for single rooms and rooms with special features, for example

balconies and sea views. You will be advised of these extra costs before booking,

otherwise our prices are guaranteed to remain the same and will only increase in

the following circumstances: (a) Government action including additional bonding

or licensing requirements; (b) Fuel duty increases; (c) Increase in VAT or its scope

and coverage.

13) IF WE CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAY – It is necessary for there to be a minimum

number of passengers before we can operate at all. In certain circumstances we

may have no alternative but to cancel your holiday. Should this occur we will

return to you all the money which you have paid to us. If we cancel your holiday

within 28 days of departure you will be entitled to another holiday of your choice

at £15 less than the advertised price.

14) SEAT ALLOCATION – Requests for particular coach seats can be made when

booking your holiday, but allocations are made strictly on a first come first served

basis.

15) DOOR-TO-DOOR PICKUPS – Because of the wide area that we cover to save

time it may be necessary to collect and return some passengers in special ‘feeder’

mini coaches or by taxi. Whilst we appreciate that everybody would like to be

returned home first, this is not always possible. However, should you wish, a taxi

could be arranged to meet the coach at a predetermined point on return for an

additional charge.

16) TRAVEL BY AIR – To comply with CAA regulations, Golden Holidays act as

retail agents for Destinations Specialists, ATOL protected 9503. Other conditions

may apply.

17) HEALTH & SAFETY – New EU Directives now stipulate that our coach drivers

must take their breaks away from their vehicles. During this period passengers will

be asked to vacate the coach and the vehicle will then be secured.

PLEASE MAKE CHEQUES PAYABLE TO GOLDEN HOLIDAYS.
