address Grady Cluster capacity concerns

Summary of February and May Meetings

• Discussed enrollment issues at Inman and other factors- Non-viability of original solution of adding eight classrooms - Proposed Druid Hills annexation

• APS administrators presented space recommendations, including an Inman 14 classroom addition, an Inman 6th Grade campus and a Howard Junior High as solutions.

• Druid Hills annexation proposal did not pass the legislature.

• In April 2015, the Board set new attendance boundaries (beginning in 2017-2018 school year) for Centennial Place Academy for a middle school.

• APS administrators presented the creation of Howard Middle School, Inman 9th Grade Academy and new APS athletic practice fields on former Walden Middle School campus.

Proposed Solutions

• Given community feedback and preferences, APS administrators re-examined options for solutions.

• Current proposed solutions to address space and enrollment in the Grady Cluster

8 Expand Grady campus and address recommendations from the Facility Condition Assessment

8 Create a Howard Middle School 8 Build new APS athletic practice fields on former Walden Middle

School campus8 Convert Inman campus into additional elementary capacity for
