The Cost ($2,550 for Undergraduates) Includes:

• You will need a passport, but not a visa.• You do not have to speak French• I will meet with the students at least once before we leave to

What You Need to Do:
2 or 3 online lectures (10 minutes each) Online documentaries (45 -55 minutes each) One Textbook:
◦ African Americans in the City of Light by Tyler Stovall 4 or 5 papers (depending on whether you receive 2 or 3
credits)◦ Four are 3-4 pages each for students getting 2 credits.◦ Students receiving 3 credits must write an addition 8-12 page paper
that is due before the spring semester ends.
The Class Consists Of:
• Sunday February 28 – Arrival and hotel check-in, orientation, dinner• Monday March 1 – Breakfast, 3 hour Black Paris bus tour, lunch,
Versailles Palace tour, free evening• Tuesday March 2 – Breakfast, Tour of Alexandre Dumas’ and
Josephine Baker’s homes in suburban Paris, lunch, free evening• Wednesday March 3 – Breakfast, Tour of Montmarte and Goutte D’Or
neighborhoods, lunch, free evening• Thursday March 4 – Free Travel Day• Friday March 5 – Breakfast, Black art tour at the Louvre, lunch, Boat
cruise of River Seine• Saturday March 6 – Breakfast, Tour of Paris Parliament, lunch, dinner• Sunday March 7 - Departure
Tentative Itinerary in Paris
• Bruges, Belgium (9 hours)• Nice, France in the French Riviera (overnight trip)• Normandy, France (14 hours)• London, England (16 hours)• Loire Valley Castles (12 hours)• Chateau de Fontainebleau (9 hours)• The costs range from $150 (round-trip transportation by
train, guided tours, some lunches) to $300 (for the London tour and round-trip transportation).
