Dr. Marzun Jokhi, Dean, Faculty of Commerce

With more than 2 decades of teaching experience and distinguished academic record, Dr.

Marzun E Jokhi has a strong academic presence in the field of Accountancy, Taxation and

Finance. He holds a Master Degree, is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost &

Management Accountant (CMA) and holds PhD in the area of Forensic Accounting to his

credit. He works as a Director, Faculty of Commerce at GLS University. He provides his

services as a resource person/subject expert at Institute of Chartered Accountants, Institute of

Cost Accountants, Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat and several other institutions of repute.

He is a member of Board of Management of GLS University and PhD Guide at GLS

University. He is guiding numerous PhD Scholars in their research pursuits. He is a member

of the Editorial Team of GLS Voice. He is actively involved in editing, reviewing and writing

books for graduate and post graduate students. He has two best paper awards at national

conferences to his credit and has presented several papers at national and international

conferences. He has, to his credit, several articles and research publications in reputed

journals, magazines, conference proceedings and has also co-authored books. He has rich &

diversified experiences in areas of Academic Administration, Teaching & Research. He

participated in International Immersion programme at California Baptist University, USA.

Dr. Avani Shah

Dr Avani Shah with around 20 years of teaching experience is a Director of GLS Faculty of

Commerce, GLSIC. She has done her Doctorate in English literature titled “A

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF USE OF MYTH AND FOLK TRADITIONS IN SELECT

PLAYS OF GIRISH KARNAD AND CHANDRASHEKHAR KAMBARA”. She is a

Member of Board of Studies in English, Department of Gujarat University. She has delivered

lectures at Prestigious Institutes like Nirma, St. Xaviers on Communication Skills and

Personality Development and presented Research papers on Feminist Perception on various

issues and Novels and English Drama at state level. She is actively involved in

editing/writing books for graduate students.

Dr Keyur Vohra

Dr. Keyur Vohra has 22 years of academic experience in the field of English Language,

Literature and Business Communication. He has been teaching as an Assistant Professor at

Faculty of Commerce (SMPIC) since 1999. Dr. Keyur Vohra has carried out his M.Phil

research in the field of Translation Studies and

his Ph.D. research was in the field of ELT. Besides above mentioned, he has several

research papers published and presented at various national and international books,

journals and conferences to his credit. In addition to the academic activities, he is in charge

of the Extra-Curricular activities, a member of Examination Committee, a member of BOS

and BOE of the Faculty of Commerce, GLS University.

Dr. Rajul Goenka

Dr Rajul Goenka has 23 years of academic experience. Her areas of interest are Accounts,

Finance and management. She has attended various seminars at State and National levels and

presented Research papers. She is a Fine Arts enthusiast and looks after activities like

Photography, Painting, Cartooning, Collage, Rangoli etc. at the Zonal & Inter Zonal youth

festivals and other inter college competitions.

Dr. Bimal Solanki

Dr. Bimal Solanki has 25 Years of academic experience of teaching in the area of accounts

and commerce. He is with the Institute right from the inception in 1999. He has done his

Doctorate in Accountancy with a study of “profitability and liquidity analysis of

pharmaceutical companies of Gujarat state”. He is the In charge of the Post-Graduation

department ( M.COM ) from last 15 years . He had been to Czech republic University of

Pardubice for his Ph.D student exchange programme. He has attended and presented research

papers at Kuala lampur Malaysia, Colombo Srilanka , Tashkent Uzbekistan and various

Universities in India. He has authored and co-authored several books on Accountancy.

Dr. Sneha Master

CA Dr. Sneha Master has a tenure of over 21 years teaching accountancy, taxation and

management. A chartered accountant herself, she strives to inculcate the same standards of

proficiency, diligence and ethics in her students. She delivers lectures at different levels of

CIMA, UK & ACCA , UK Courses conducted by the institute. She also holds a Philosophical

Doctorate in the interdisciplinary field of “The Assessment of Human Resource Accounting

Application in Educational Institutions of Ahmedabad” and has attended many state, national

and international seminars and presented papers on the same. Theatre being her passion, she

is also actively involved with the activities of the theatre and dramatics department of the

college.

Dr. Bhavna Parwani

Dr. Bhavna Parwani has 20 years of work experience, she’s been working since 2000 in the

department of Accounts and Commerce department. She has been teaching at under graduate

and post graduate level. She has made presentations and submitted papers at various state and

national seminars and conferences. Her interest area in research is related to finance and

commerce.

Dr Kruti Shah

Dr. Kruti Paritosh Shah has 19 years of academic experience in the field of Accountancy and

Commerce. She worked as a member of Governing Body of Women Development Cell of

Gujarat University for the period 2009-2012. She has been member of the editorial team of

GLS Voice, a monthly newspaper run by Gujarat Law Society. She has State, National,

International presentations and publications to her credit. She has received her doctoral

degree in "A Study of XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) and Its Practices in

Listed Indian Companies" on 27/12/2017.This research on XBRL is a maiden attempt in

India to study its impact in Indian context. She also takes lectures for the students of

professional course CIMA, UK. She visited University of Pardubice, Europe as a research

scholar under student exchange program in the year 2017. She presented research papers at

international conferences held at Srilanka and Malaysia in the year 2017 and 2019

respectively. She is convenor of college’s newsletter “College Mirror”. She is also in charge of

Folk-Dance activities at FOC.

Dr. Bhavin Bhatt

DR BHAVIN BHATT has around 20 years of academic experience in the subjects of

Accountancy, Taxation, and Commerce. He has done his doctorate in the subject of “An

Analysis of Capital Structure of a Public Limited Company -

Nirma Limited”. Hehas around 17 research paper publications in national and

international journals to his credit. He’s also a Ph.D. guide at GLS UNIVERSITY’s School

of Doctoral Research and Innovation. He has also provided services as a resource person/

subject expert at Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)for more than 10 years. He

has co-authored many books for graduate students.He is in-charge of Sports Activities.

Dr Mala Dani

DR CA MALA DANI has around 15 years of academic experience in the subjects of

Accountancy, Taxation, and Auditing. She has done her doctorate in the subject of

“Performance Evaluation Of Services Provided By Bank Of Baroda With Special Reference

To Customer Satisfaction”. She has around 16 research paper publications in national and

international journals to her credit. She’s

also a Ph.D. guide at GLS UNIVERSITY’s School of Doctoral Research and Innovation. She

has also provided services as a resource person/ subject expert at Ahmedabad branch of

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Institute of Company Secretaries of India as

well as Direct Tax Regional Training Institute (Income-tax Department). She’s a sports in-

charge and a national level gold medalist in Karate.

Dr.Nimisha Shah

DR.NIMISHA SHAH has more than 20 years of academic experience in the field of

Science. Commerce and Arts teaching Statistics and mathematics to the sudents of various

institutes and teaching in this institute since last 15 years. She has done her research on

“Some Studies on Six Sigma and its Extensions for Quality Performance in Various

Fields.”hich is the quality measurement to improve the quality performance in various

fields.Dr.Nimisha has done her research especially in the field of education and presented

around 7 papers and 2 papers published in well-known journals. She has authored more than

5 books. She has also delivered the lectures for ‘BISEG’ – an online project undertaken by

Government of Gujarat to teach the students of Gujarat State. She has been also elected as a

member of board of studies in the subject of statistics at Gujarat University.

Dr.Hastimal Sagara

Dr.HastimalSagara has 20 years of academic experience at both undergraduate and post

graduate levels. Academic area of his teaching is Economics. Title of his Ph.D. Thesis was

“Growth and Transformation of Information Technology Sector in India: A Case of Gujarat”.

He has a major research project sponsored by ICSSR, New Delhi. His research interests

include information technology sector, rural development, labour economics and health

economic. He has authored 10 books and 20 research papers in journals or books. He has

presented 22 research papers in various national and international conferences. He was

appreciated twice by GLS University for his contribution towards research. He regularly

participates in live TV debates and All India Radio talks. He holds UGC NET JRF.

Dr. Aashal Bhatt

Dr. Aashal Mitren Bhatt, with 20 years of academic experience, is an Assistant Professor in

the Department of Accounts and Commerce at Faculty of Commerce, GLS University. She

holds a PhD in Corporate Social Disclosure Practices of Top listed Companies in India. She

has been teaching the subjects of Accountancy and Commercial law at the UG and PG level.

She has several research paper presentations at national and international conferences to her

credit. Thrice she has been the recipient of best research paper awards at various national and

international conferences. She is an active member of the editorial board of GLS Voice. She

is the placement coordinator of the Institute as well as the coordinator of Comprehensive

Banking and Insurance Program. Prior to joining GLS, she was a full-time faculty member at

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) for 2 years.

Dr. Bhumika Ansodaria

She has been working as an Assistant Professor in English at Faculty of Commerce since

2006. She has 19 years of teaching and training experience. She holds a doctorate degree in

English Literature and Film Studies from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. She also holds

M.Phil. in English with specialization in

Indian English Literature. Her areas of interest in teaching and research are Communication

Skills, ELT (English Language Teaching) and Film Adaptation. She has participated and

presented papers in National and International Seminars. At Faculty of Commerce, she is the

co-ordinator of A Certificate Course in English, Swami Vivekananda Study Circle,

Personality Development Workshop, Public Speaking Workshop, Management Lecture Series,

Inter-collegiate Literary Competitions and a member of PRISM(a college magazine) Editorial

team and ‘College Mirror’- College Magazine team. She also conducts English sessions of

IBPS Exam preparation in A Certificate Course in Banking and Insurance in the college.

Dr. Gitanjali Rampal

Dr. Gitanjali Rampal has 20 years of academic experience. She has been teaching English and

Business Communication at the UG level. Currently she is working with Department of

English, Faculty of Commerce , GLS University. She has many paper presentations and

publications to her credit. Her areas of interest are Gender Studies, Comparative Literature,

Eco-criticism and English Language Teaching. She has also been teaching post graduate

students at Department of English, Gujarat University as a visiting faculty. She is also a

theatre enthusiast, has delivered programmes on All India Radio and has been a professional

voice-over artist.

Dr. Krupa Bhatt

She has been working as faculty of commerce and has total 14 years of teaching experience.

She has presented research papers at state and national level seminars and conferences. She is

co-author of books at U.G level at FOC.She has been also teaching at M.com .She has been

teaching Marketing, Human resource management, Financial management, Strategic

management, Digital marketing. She is the in-charge of management club under which

students are prepared to participate at various inter college state and national level

competitions as well as inhouse events and talk shows. She undertakes charity activities

‘PRAYAS’ during college days every year. She is coordinator of study enhancement

programme .She has been appointed as PH.D supervisor(guide) in GLS university.

Dr Dharini Patel

DR DHARINI S PATEL has around 15 years of academic experience in the field of

Accountancy, Management and Commerce. She has done her doctorate in the subject of

“Customer Satisfaction: A Study of Selected Commercial Banks”, She has around nine

papers publication in national and international journals to

her credit. She is also a Ph.D. guide at GLS UNIVERSITY’s School of Doctoral

Research and Innovation. She has co-authored many books for graduate students. She is

also an in-charge of Fine Art Activities.

Dr Jyoti Thakkar

DR JYOTI THAKKAR has 12 years of academic experience in the area of Accountancy&

Commerce. She has completed her Ph.D.“A scheme wise Analysis of Mutual Fund in

Gujarat (A Comparative Study of Public Sector and Private Sector)

She has presented papers at International and National level and is an author of many books

at undergraduate level. She is a PhD guide at GLS University and also in – charge of CWDC,

Fine Arts & Industrial visit for students.

Dr Ankit Bhojak

Dr Ankit Bhojak has around 10 years of academic experience in the subject of STATISTICS.

He has done his doctorate in inventory control system on “A Study of Inventory Models with

Changing Demand and Deterioration Rates”. He has 7 research paper publication in well-

known and reputed national and international journals. He has co-authored many books for

under graduate students. He is in charge of Drama Activities.

Dr.Dhwani Sodha

Dr.Dhwani Sodha has 12 years of academic experience. She has been teaching English

language and literature and Communication Skills to under graduate students of commerce.

She has a strong academic backbone in the field of English Language and Literature and

completed her Ph. D. under the title "Delineation of Human Relationships in the Select

Novels of SudhaMurty and VarshaAdalja". She has participated, presented and published

numerous research papers in national and international level seminars and conferences and

has several research publications to her credit in peer- reviewed journals. Her areas of

interest in research are Comparative Literature and Communication Skills. She is actively

involved in editing/writing books for under-graduate students.

Dr Gaurang Prajapati

Dr Gaurang Prajapati has around16years of academic experience in the area of Accountancy,

Commerce, Finance, Management and Law. He has done his doctorate from GLS University

under the guidance of Dr Dharmesh Shah,

Registrar GLS University on“A COMREHENSIVE STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF

MERGER AND ACQUISITIONS ON CORPORATE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

OF SELECTED PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES IN INDIA”. He has presented and

published various academic papers at International, National and State level seminars and is

an active author of many books at graduate level. He is NSS Co- ordinator of GLS University

and in- charge of various Academic and Para academic activities.

Dr.Hiral Jani

Dr.Hiral Jani has 12 years of academic experience, having good academic and teaching forte

in English and Communication. She is an educator with intense motive of sharing her

knowledge in the academic arena.

Phd Thesis title“Indianness and Identity Crisis in Indian Diaspora Contemporary Women

Writers: A study.” Most of her research works are based on Diaspora Writings,

Communication and English Language Teaching etc. She is also in – charge of Drama

activity.

Dr. Bhavik Swadia

He is assistant professor, at faculty of Commerce, GLS University. He is well known author

of several books for the students of BBA, B.com, and M.com. He has teaching experience of

more than 20 years. He has written 50 books of National and International level. He has

published 90 papers in National and

international Journal. He is member of editorial board in various Journals. He is PH.D Guide

at GLS University. He has undertaken various research project funded by UGC & Private

Institutions.

Dr. Devyani Chatterji

Dr. Devyani Chatterji has around 15 years of academic experience. She is M.Sc. (Gold

Medallist) in Statistics and has received her doctoral degree in “Mathematical Formulation of

Inventory Systems for Deteriorating Items under Varying Demand Rates”. She has received I.

M. Nanavati Best Research Paper Award for the research paper titled “An EOQ Model with

Exponential Amelioration and Two Parametric Weibull Deterioration” organised by GLS

University on 19th

January 2020. Dr. Chatterji has strong academic presence in the field of

Statistics, Mathematics and Research Methodology. She has also provided her services as a

resource person/subject expert at National Sample Survey, Ahmedabad and BISAG – A

Satellite Communication Network Service to provide distant education which is a State Level

Agency of Government of Gujarat. She has many State, National and International

Presentations and Publications to her credit. She is actively involved in editing/writing books

for graduate students. She is the Co-ordinator of Statistics Club, Research Group and Quiz

Club. She has guided many students in preparing research projects.

Dr. Jaimin Patel

Dr. Jaimin Patel has 9 years of academic experience. He is a Ph.D. guide at GLS University.

He has presented papers at the national and international conferences and has several articles

and research publications to his credit. He is actively involved in writing books for graduate

students.

Dr. Rupa Pariyani

Dr. Rupa A Pariyani has more than a decade of academic experience. Her association with

Faculty of Commerce as an Assistant Professor in English commenced from 2014. She has

also worked as a full-time Lecturer in English at

M. R. Parikh Institute of Commerce, GLS for three years. She has done her M.Phil.and Ph.D.

in English with specialization in Indian Drama in English from Department of English,

Gujarat University. Her areas of interest in research are ELT (English Language Teaching)

Communication Skills and Indian Drama in English. She has participated and presented

papers in National and International Seminars. She has been awarded SHRI I M NANAVATI

BEST RESEARCH PAPER AWARD 2020.She is the Content Editor of College Website,

Coordinator of Soft Skills Programme, the Co-coordinator of Literary Activities, Co-

Convenor of English & Reading Club and a member of the Editorial Team of College’s

Newsletter - College Mirror at Faculty of Commerce .

Dr. Anjali Trivedi

She has been working as Assistant Professor in Economics since 2015 with Faculty of

Commerce , GLS University. She is Gold Medalist in M.A. Economics at SP University. She

joined Faculty of Commerce in 2015. She has also presented papers at State, National and

International level conferences as well as she has to her credit papers published in peer

reviewed journals. At present, she is pursuing her Ph. D. with reference to Financial inclusion

of Urban women. She has cleared GSET examination (2017). She has also done NCC with C-

Certificate. She is in charge of Economics Club.

Dr. Naishal Raval

DR. Naishal Raval, has academic experience of more than half decade for teaching

economics at graduate and post graduate level as well. He has been awarded the Doctorate

degree in Economics from Department of Economics, School of Social Science, Gujarat

University, Ahmedabad. The thesis was on “A Study of G.M.D.C. Credit and Consumer

Cooperative Society – Some Aspects” which covers the analysis of cooperatives societies in

Gujarat. He has presented research paper on various themes such as Analysis of Budget,

Digital India, Sustainable Development, Rural finance, Micro-finance, Infrastructures, with

reference to Indian Economy in various national and international conferences.

Dr. Beena Patel

Dr. Beena Gulabsingh Patel, is working as an Assistant Professor in Economics from June

2019 with Faculty of Commerce , GLS University. She was awarded the degree of PH.D. on

December 2019 by Gujarat University. The topic of her PH. D research was

‘Demographic Change and Economic Growth in India: Challenges and Opportunities’. She

has received Institutional Doctoral

Fellowship during 2016 to 2018 from Indian Council of Social Sciences Research (ICSSR),

New Delhi. She has also presented papers at State, National and International level

conferences as well as she has to her credit papers published in UGC care list and peer

reviewed journals. She has cleared GSET examination (2019).

CA Devarsh Gandhi

CA Devarsh Gandhi has 2 years of academic experience His main academic area of teaching

is Accountancy, Corporate and Commercial Laws, Management, Auditing and Assurance.

His educational Qualificationare CA, CS and M.com.

He is a Ph.D. Scholar from GLS University’s School of Doctoral Research & Innovation. He

is a Sports enthusiast and Gold Medalist in M.Com. (Sem 1-GU, 2017)

Ms. Shibani Roy

Ms. Shibani Roy has 3 years of academic experience in the area of

“Management & Marketing”. She is also an in-charge of Garba and Dance activities
