The Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) was established in 1979, by the Society of Jesus in the campus of the 79 year old famed Loyola College.

LIBA offers a Two year Full Time Programme and a Three year Part Time PGDBA, approved by AICTE.

LIBA is committed to the training of future entrepreneurs/managers, who will be professionally competent, ethicallyconscious with a concern for the welfare of the weak andunderprivileged in society. LIBA has earned a reputation asone of the best – run Business Schools in South India

With a view to spreading awareness of ethical business and corporate governance, LIBA instituted the Loyola Centre for Business Ethics and Corporate Governance in 2004.

To spread awareness of• Conducting business with Ethics and Integrity• Corporate Governance• Corporate Social Responsibility

To provide training and other intervention in the above three areas.

To create knowledge and disseminate the same to various stakeholders (students, Corporates, Govt., NGOs) in the society.

To showcase a corporate as a role model in Corporate Citizenship.

INSTITUTE - INDUSTRY INTERACTION

Interaction with Chambers of Commerce such as FICCI,CII etc for furtherance of the Centre’s objectives Knowledge partners with FICCI for their conference

on CSR.

Some faculty members are part of their advisory councils.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS ON 8th DEC 2007

The faculty, staff and students of LIBA raised an amount of Rs 95000 as part of the Christmas celebrations and their commitment to Social Responsibility.

Rs 25000 donated to each of the following three NGOs in Chennai and one in Tiruchy Hope Foundation International Udavum Karangal Pathway

Forty less privileged children were entertained and offered gifts by faculty and students.

DECLAMATION CONTEST

Declamation Contest on Corporate Governance was held on 18th January 2008 at LIBA with support from NFCG.

29 entries received from both full time and part time PGDM students.

The following prizes were awarded. Mr Rohit D’Costa - First Place (Rs 25,000) Mr Lav Nigam - Second Place (Rs 15,000) Miss Remya Nair -Third Place (Rs 10,000)

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CORPORATE GOVERNANCE Loyola Centre for Business Ethics and Corporate

Governance with support from NFCG organized the conference on 25th January 08.

The Conference addressed the following: Theme: “The why and wherefore of Corporate

Governance” Stakeholders and Corporate Governance Corporate Governance issues in Indian context

It was attended by more than 350 students and corporate delegates from the industry.

BUSINESS ETHICS CONFERENCE – BEACON ‘08

LIBA in association with FICCI organized the conference on 14th and 15th March 08

The theme for the conference was India at 60: Inclusive Growth – The challenge of the new era.

It was attended by more then 400 student and corporate delegates from the industry.
