HISTORY• I’ve been with the program for 5 years• I’m a GP in Sherwood Park, east of
Edmonton• I see about 35 patients a day• I don’t see a lot of “flu” symptoms
immediately (at the beginning)• I have had some positive results!!!!!

• As a clinician, you would prefer to get patients seen and swabbed at the beginning of their illness … with in 24-48 hours of the onset of illness

• It’s difficult to know when “too long” after the initial illness the swab is still worth it.
FRUSTRATIONS
• It’s difficult to remember which electronic diagnostic code to use so it gets recorded properly. (487 for influenza, but 466 or 482 or 460 or ???)
