Financial Environment The State of Texas has experienced increased

revenue following the “great recession” but many budget pressures remain for the state to deal with.

Currently, the economic environment is stable and some economists are projecting growth in the near term.

There is an increased focus on student affordability and performance outcomes.

This upcoming biennium will be a challenge for PVAMU with a potential move to performance based funding and the loss of the hold harmless funds.
