  • ONE CHILD ONE LIGHT TOP

Efforts are being made to fulfill the ambition of providing one solar lamp to every child. During sabbatical

leave (2012) a pilot project 21000 solar lamps have been provided to as many students through

Localization of Solar Energy model in which solar lamps are assembled by local people, used by local

people and repaired by local people (www.ocol.edupark.org). Currently same project is extended for

providing light to 1 Million students (www.millionsoul.iitb.ac.in), with the objective to extend it for 100 Million

    students.

    COMPANY INCUBATION TOP

Successfully incubated a company called kWatt Solutions Private Limited in Society for Innovation and

Entrepreneurship (SINE) of IIT Bombay. The company provides integrated renewable energy solutions for

power requirement in the range of few kW to several kW (www.kwattsolutions.com ).

    MISCELLANEOUS TOP

Won second prize (USD 2000) in International photography contest organized by International Society

    of Photography, Washington DC, 2003.

Won consolation prize in National Science photography contest on Lights and Shades of Science

organized by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, 2006.

Represented IITB Staff Cricket team in 2005-06 and 2006-07.
