WELCOME TO A NEW AND EXCITING SEASON WITH THE DR BIG BAND I can’t begin to describe how honored and happy I am to have been appointed as the new Principal Conductor for the DR Big Band. Through the band’s 55-year long history it has had legendary conductors such as Ib Glindemann, Thad Jones, Bob Brookmeyer and Jim McNeely – to name a few.To carry on their legacy is the most important task for DR’s Big Band, and I am beyond exci- ted to go on this musical journey together with the band.The season is rich with musical milestones – from brand new pieces to pure gold from the DR Big Band archives. We hope to bring you great experiences, new energy, lots of inspiration and we look forward to seeing you at our concerts!
