} A Bachelors degree from a recognised university with good grades (should be equivalent to a UK Bachelors (Hons) degree)} Should be at least 21 years old} Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in all other components or equivalent recognised English language qualification.

The MSc programme in International Tourism Management is designed to enable students to develop concepts and theories relating to international tourism management, stimulate critical thinking and the use of multi-disciplinary perspectives to transform management problems into opportunities. The design of this course is such that research forms a key part of the programme in order to encourage students to develop an evidence-based approach to reflective practice.

The tourism industry accounts for 10 percent of employment worldwide. The management skills are very similar to those offered by other industries such as Hospitality, but there are aspects of tourism management unique to its purpose. Developing a distinctive tourism product helps differentiate it from the global competition; exclusive products can command higher prices in the market place. For this reason, this course promotes creativity and innovation in tourism management techniques.

Furthermore, while customer focus and quality of service are critical aspects of the industry, the increasing use of information and communication technology has seen an increased proportion of tourism products bought over the internet. To succeed in global business, tourism organisations and their managers must adapt their operational approach accordingly. Therefore, this course also attempts to address current needs in a changing marketplace.

The MSc International Hospitality Management course is designed to enable students to develop concepts and theories relating to the strategic development of business in this growing field while linking creative thinking with the use of new media and technology. The course is designed in order to encourage the development and evidence-based approach to reflective practice through detailed research and reporting. The hospitality industry, encompassing everything from hotel chains to independently run cafes and food outlets, plays an important role in the global economy.

With so much choice available for both business and recreational activities, successful hospitality providers need to offer a distinctive product. It follows that good hospitality managers have, as well as business acumen, a sense of creativity and innovation as distinctive products can command higher prices in the marketplace. While customer focus and quality of service are critical aspects of the industry, the increasing use of information and communication technology places increasing pressure on managers to be constantly aware of technological changes and adapt their market approach accordingly.

All students participating in these interactive workshops will have the chance to acquire leadership skills, make investment decisions, hone their time management, negotiating techniques and develop greater business acumen.

In short, the management training workshop is not to be missed and is an event that is guaranteed to leave an indelible mark in the minds of the students. Student feedback from these events is consistently and overwhelmingly positive.

Student Academic Requirements

Attendance

The School undertakes constant monitoring of student attendance at lectures on a daily basis. Weekly percentage attendance figures are available for each student to inspect online. The School requires attendance of at least 80% of classes. The Student Visa, issued by the Home Office of the British Government, is granted on the proviso that you are attending a full-time course at LSC. Therefore, non-attendance of lectures means not complying with the conditions under which the visa was issued.

In the event of non-compliance of attendance regulations, the School will inform the sponsors and parents of the erring student. Furthermore, the UKBA and the visa-issuing High Commission will be informed of the attendance record. Also, there is a direct correlation between examination pass rates and attendance at lectures.
