The Lost Soldiers of Fromelles…
A deeply moving military tribute, and a crucial ‘not-to-be-issued-for-circulation’
type, the second issue
in the Australia Remembers 20c Series honours the Aussies lost in battle at Fromelles in France in WWI – described by the Australian War Memorial as ‘the worst 24 hours in Australia’s entire history’.
On the 19th and 20th of
July, 1916, the AIF 5th
Division suffered 5,533
casualties at Fromelles
– about the same number of Australian
casualities in the Boer, Korean and Vietnam wars
combined. Many diggers remained
unaccounted for, and the belief that an unmarked mass grave
existed in the region was proved correct in 2008. The 250 Allied soldiers found in the grave have been laid to rest with full military
honours in a new War Cemetary situated close
to where they were found.
Bearing a design based on the Cobbers
Statue that stands in Fromelles, this unique 20c is more than just an important military
commemorative – it is a must-have for anyone
seeking to keep their collection complete. Not to be issued for circulation, this official
RAM presentation is the
only place that you will
find the 2010 20c Lost
Soldiers of Fromelles Unc.
Sure to have a low mintage, and certain to
be tough to find in the
future, grab the chance
to secure this unique Australian legal tender
type at Official Issue Price.
Each Unc 20c coin is set in an informative, official RAM presentation pack

The Royal Aus tralian Mint’s 2010 Silver Proof Set
the release of another eagerly anticipated series of Australian legal tender silver coins – the 2010 Silver Proof Set!
Australia’s premier annual silver issue…First seen in 2003, the RAM’s Silver Proof Set has become firmly entrenched as Australia’s premier annual silver issue. Defined by breathtaking quality, impeccable presentation and limited availability, the concept of striking Australia’s circulating currency in .999 fine silver has proved a smash hit, with each Silver Proof Set hotly pursued by collectors worldwide. As luxurious, as important and as exclusive as its predecessors, the new 2010 Silver Proof Set is sure to prove just as popular.
Tiny worldwide mintage just 6,000! In 1910, nearly a decade after Federation, Australia’s first coins were finally issued – struck at the Royal Mint in London from silver. Exactly 100 years later, the Royal Australian Mint has commemorated the
centenary of this landmark with
Just 500 sets struck!Arguably the most important collector issue in 2010, and indisputably one of the most exclusive, the 2010 Gold Proof Set has naturally sparked huge interest. With demand driven by the
quality, originality, limited availability and potential, this
prestigious tribute to Australia’s currency centenary will soon disappear from the market.Comprising 113.56g of .9999 gold, the set
features six coins from 5c to $2. An inspired combination of tradition and innovation, each coin not only features the original design for its denomination – it also features a unique Elizabeth II portrait! On the short-list to replace the Maklouf portrait on all Commonwealth coins in 1999, and used only on the 2000 Royal Visit 50c, this Australian-designed obverse has been revived especially for the 2010 Gold Proof Set.

Just 500 sets struck!A laudable RAM initiative, requiring permission from Buckingham Palace, the revival of this obverse has intensified demand for what was always destined to be one of the hottest issues of 2010. Exemplifying the powerful interest in the series, the 2001, 2005, 2006 and 2007 sets are seldom seen, with fervent competition for the few available examples ensuring soaring market values across-the-board.
A clear reflection of the success of the entire series, initial demand has wiped out all but a few sets from our original allocation. With so many people desperate to become the proud owner of one of the world’s premier gold coin collections, fairness dictates that a limit of one set per household must apply.

Flawless Proof quality…A lavish presentation, the 2010 Silver Proof Set contains an example of each of Australia’s six circulating types from the 5c to the $2. As with every set in the series, each coin is defined by exquisite Proof quality. Distinguished by the traditional motif for its denomination, every coin has been struck with specially prepared dies from pure .999 silver, and is
underpinned by sharply detailed, highly frosted designs, set upon the most pristine of mirror fields.
A sumptuous, exclusive presentation…A fitting environment for such a splendid celebration of Australia’s currency centenary, the black surrounds of
the superb, official RAM timber case provide a brilliant contrast with the glittering surfaces of the six silver coins. Complete with an individually numbered plaque, each set is also accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity confirming the extremely limited availability
of this sumptuous presentation. Just 6,000 sets are to be struck!
Act at Official Issue Price! With so few issued worldwide, this initial opportunity to secure the 2010 Proof Set is an important one – particularly in light of the success of this exclusive,
prestigious collector program. With every Silver Proof Set
increasingly scarce, and climbing in value as a result, the popularity of the series
provides strong incentive to secure

A majestic celebration of the centenary of Australia’s first national currency, this spectacular Perth Mint precious metal Proof is one of the most vivid, most eye-catching issues of recent times – and an essential acquisition
for full-colour coin collectors. A glorious example of the Mint’s state-of-the-art minting techniques, this official Australian legal tender coin is dominated by a stunning full-colour image of Edward VII, based on the 1902 Coronation portrait by Sir Samuel Luke Fildes. The perfect backdrop to a truly grandiose portrayal of the King, the 40.6mm flan also features images of the
silver coins issued in 1910 – Australia’s first national coins, and the only coins to carry Edward’s noble portrait on the obverse. The Liberator…Prime Minister (1946-55) and President (1945-69) of North Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969) devoted his life to liberating his country. The head of the Viet Minh from 1941, and a key figure in the battle against the Japanese, French and Americans over many decades, ‘Uncle Ho’ is acclaimed with virtual God-like status in Vietnam.
A tangible expression of that reverence is found in the currency of modern Vietnam, with Ho appearing on each denomination of the country’s polymer banknote issue – including the highest denomination, the 500,000 Dong. Also depicting Ho’s birthplace, in Kim Lien
Village, this strictly Uncirculated legal tender note forms a fine memorial to one of the most significant characters in 20th century history.

MAMMOTH demand assured!
Headlined by a genuine
piece of fossilised mammoth
tooth in the reverse, this
astonishing new coin
sparked a stampede
amongst collectors when
recently released. Driven
by the great originality, the
impeccable quality, the
strictly limited availability
and the strength of the
theme, the fierce demand
saw the entire mintage
of 2,500 coins sold out
overseas in a matter of
weeks!
One of the most well-
known prehistoric animals,
the mammoth originated
some four million years ago,
and died out mysteriously
approximately 5,000 years
ago. A creature of massive
proportions, with the largest
species standing around
5 metres (16 feet) tall, the
mammoth has long been
a source of fascination to
humankind, with the discovery
of mammoth bones and
mammoths preserved in ice
keeping the flame of interest
burning bright. With a real
piece of fossilised mammoth
found upon the 38.61mm flan
of this coin, you could not find
a more authentic tribute to this
gigantic prehistoric ancestor
of the modern elephant.
Knowing that interest would
be extremely strong in
Australia, we went to great
lengths to obtain an allocation
of the Ivory Coast 2010 1,000
Francs Mammoth Tooth
Silver Proof. Thankfully, our
efforts were successful, and
we have 50 examples of this
utterly unique presentation
in stock. With mammoth
demand assured, and a
sell-out a certainty, we must
impose a limit of one coin per
household.
