St Thomas's Church & murals The interior is covered in beautiful 19th century murals, by Manx artist John Miller Nicholson. 'Probably the best church murals in the whole British Isles', says one expert.Open Sun 10.15 -12.30am. Service 11am. Also open Fri 10.30 - 11.30am for coffee.

The Gaiety Theatre (& Opera house) A magnificent gem of a Victorian theatre, designed by Frank Matcham. Theatre tours from Spring to Autumn go 'behind the scenes' to show the superb restoration, backstage area, & unique Victorian theatre machinery. Tours start 10am Sats, 2 hrs 15 mins. A number of high quality arts venues are packed into the centre of Douglas, all within a 10 to 15-minute walk. There's a gem of a Victorian Theatre, an Art Gallery, Museum, Concert Hall, Cinema, Public Gardens, & an Art Deco Arcade (with a Wurlitzer). St Thomas' church has beautiful murals. The Villa Arcade has an excellent ice cream parlour & a friendly Italian bistro.

These are all set between the promenade & wooded gardens. A public lift & bridge link the Museum and the Lower Douglas prom area. (Bridge open 8.30am-6.00pm. By the lift is a public car park). Also many bus connections.
