Seven new members joined and will be initiated at the September 30 meeting. The 67 th National Peanut Festival Oct. 29 thru Nov. 7, 2010 The Peanut Festival is just around the corner! The Dothan Civitan Club will be there again this year selling funnel cakes. As our biggest fundraiser of the year, everyone is encouraged to help out that week. Watch for emails with signup sheets and further details. On September 21, 2010 the chartering ceremony for Seminole County Civitan Club was held at the American Legion in Donalsonville, GA. Members from all over the

2010 Wilburn Lane Scholarship AwardedThe Milburn Lane Scholarship is awarded to area high school seniors based on community service and academic achievement. Congratulations to our 2010 Milburn Lane Scholarship winners Jennifer Farish and Dustin Gilley.

Jennifer is a 2010 graduate of Northview High School. Jennifer was a chartering member of the Northview High School Junior Civitan Club and

served as club president for the 2009-2010 school year. She will attend Troy University in the fall and will be majoring in Interior Design.

Dustin is a 2010 graduate of Rehobeth High School and member of their Junior Civitan club. He also spent many nights helping the Dothan

Civitan Club at the National Peanut Festival. He will attend Wallace Community College in the fall and will be majoring in Nursing.

EARN YOUR CREED CLUB PINI AM CIVITAN.....do you know the rest? If you do, you can earn your Creed Club pin! It’s simple, recite the Civitan Creed by memory in its

entirety to three other Dothan Civitan Club members. Have each of them sign off on the attached form and then turn it in to Carla Rodgers.

That’s all it takes, and you will be presented your Creed Club pin at a

future meeting!

A trip to tour the Civitan International Research Center and Civitan Clinic in Birmingham is scheduled for December 3, 2010.person, with a limit of 20 people. Tentatively, the group will depart Dothan at 7:30 am. Once in Birmingham, we’ll have lunch and tour the facilities.
