As I write this, Gary is on a plane to Canada, he will spend the next 5 days exploring Vancouver and then fishing at a resort not far from Vancouver. This is a trip Stan Cork Machinery achieved through the Kubota Rewards program. It’s a shame he doesn’t eat fish and drink wine. Shame there was only one trip! A>er he returns, he then travels to Swain’s Reef, along with Nick Beaumont, for the annual fishing trip up there. Ma) Ballard (Woolgoolga) is geBng married this month – Congratula3ons to Ma) and Amber – hopefully we will have some photos next month. Andrew Cochran is also taking leave during September. Just a reminder, if you would like your account emailed (if you are s3ll receiving it by snail mail) please let me know. More than half of our accounts are now emailed. Also, please make sure if you are paying by EFT that there is some- thing that iden3fies who is paying, be it an invoice number, name or account code. “Tractor repairs” or “Stan Cork” in the descrip3on make it very hard to allocate a payment. We said farewell to Kathy Hutchison and Allan Kedzlie during August and welcomed Kellie Real. I’m sure Kellie won- ders what she has struck when she encounters me trying to understand & work computer systems, but she has been able to work out and “fix” the issues I have. Kathy was also good at doing that, as is Shona deciphering what we need to go in the newsle)er each month. Just leBng you know in advance that our workshop will be closing over the Christmas break – that is from December 24 th through un3l January 2 nd 2019. A skeleton staff will be on call during this period. I will be a)ending the Rusty Iron Rally this weekend – I will let you know what I think next month. Un3l then......Jo

Spring is in the air….. I must admit I am looking forward to the weather warming up and maybe some spring showers.

The last weekend of August did bring some rain, which was very much appreciated – Dorrigo didn’t have a huge

amount – about 14 ml in our gauge, Woolgoolga received about 62ml – it was so good to hear the rain on the roof,

although the thunder and lightning was a li)le scary. Our neighbours out west did receive some, but not all that had

been forecast.

I would like to make our customers aware of the huge effort from Plateau Farms (the Guest Family) to the Drought

Relief cause. They organised a semi-trailer load of fruit and vegetables that they packed and delivered to many needy

communi3es. Stan Cork Machinery gave a small dona3on to help cover some of the fuel costs and I am unsure how

they did it, but our small part has been acknowledged by one of the recipients. We received a beau3ful and heart-

breaking thank you le)er from a lady living near Walge). She described her plight and the fact that one box of fruit

and vegetables brought so much joy. She said that they have had one good season in the past 7 years, they have had

to sell a lot of their machinery to help them stay afloat. As I said, it was heartbreaking reading her le)er, but certainly

made me realise just how tough things are. A big thank you to the Guest Family and to other locals that have been

contribu3ng in so many ways.

As I write this, Gary is on a plane to Canada, he will spend the next 5 days exploring Vancouver and then fishing at a

resort not far from Vancouver. This is a trip Stan Cork Machinery achieved through the Kubota Rewards program. It’s a

shame he doesn’t eat fish and drink wine. The brochure describes the gastronomic delights that he will experience – I

feel they will be wasted on him – I could have happily le> him to do the fishing and I could have helped with the ea3ng

and drinking .... Shame there was only one trip! A>er he returns, he then travels to Swain’s Reef, along with Nick

Beaumont, for the annual fishing trip up there.

Ma) Ballard (Woolgoolga) is geBng married this month – Congratula3ons to Ma) and Amber – hopefully we will have

some photos next month. Andrew Cochran is also taking leave during September.

Just a reminder, if you would like your account emailed (if you are s3ll receiving it by snail mail) please let me know.

More than half of our accounts are now emailed. Also, please make sure if you are paying by EFT that there is some-

thing that iden3fies who is paying, be it an invoice number, name or account code. “Tractor repairs” or “Stan Cork” in

the descrip3on make it very hard to allocate a payment.

We said farewell to Kathy Hutchison and Allan Kedzlie during August and welcomed Kellie Real. I’m sure Kellie won-

ders what she has struck when she encounters me trying to understand & work computer systems, but she has been

able to work out and “fix” the issues I have. Kathy was also good at doing that, as is Shona deciphering what we need

to go in the newsle)er each month.

Just leBng you know in advance that our workshop will be closing over the Christmas break – that is from December

24th

through un3l January 2nd

2019. A skeleton staff will be on call during this period.

I will be a)ending the Rusty Iron Rally this weekend – I will let you know what I think next month.
