Welcome! We are glad you joined us for worship this morning! We are thrilled to be back together in the sanctuary! Because we want to help keep everyone safe and well through the pandemic, we are taking extra precautions to prevent the spread of illness in our community: We ask that everyone wear face masks throughout the worship service. The pews have been cleaned and disinfected prior to the service and will be cleaned again following the service. For everyone’s safety, please only sit in the designated pews. Hymnals and Bibles have been removed from the pews to avoid spreading germs. The hymns and scripture are printed in the worship bulletin. Feel free to sing softly with the hymns as long as your mask covers both your nose and mouth. We will not pass offering plates, but they are available at the exits to receive your offerings. You can also give directly at www.faithpcusa.org/give. At the conclusion of the service, ushers will dismiss the congregation by rows to allow for safe distancing as we exit. Please remain seated in your pews until the usher indicates it is time for your row to exit. Upon exiting the sanctuary, please proceed directly outside before pausing to speak with other congregants. Please refrain from visiting any other parts of the church campus, as only the sanctuary, nursery, and restrooms are currently open. Don’t forget to look for the email on Monday to register to attend next week’s service! Can’t make it, but don’t want to miss the experience? Join us for virtual worship online! You can watch our service on YouTube, find the weekly bulletin online, and listen to the sermon via your favorite podcast platform or from our website (www.faithpcusa.org/sermon-audios). Nursery is available for children preschool and younger. Trained nursery staff will greet your little ones with open arms! Every member of our childcare team has passed a background check, received CPR/First Aid certification and completed our children and youth protection training course. If you would like your child (preschool and under) to visit the nursery, please ask an usher for directions to the playground or breezeway.

ASSEMBLE IN GOD’S NAME

Welcome Brad Clayton

Come, let us worship the God of creation, the God of people, the God of community. Let us worship together in faith.

*Hymn 649 Amazing Grace

Call to Confession Trinity Whitley

Prayer of Confession Forgiving God, Your grace and mercy are ever present in our lives. Your forgiveness is boundless in mercy when we fail to live in Christ-like ways. Yet we are quick to carry a grudge: quick to find fault, quick to assign blame, quick to harden our hearts toward others. (silent confession)

Loving God, Set us apart to extend and model the grace You have shown us by offering grace to others. We pray in the name of the One who died so that we might fully live. Amen.

Declaration of Forgiveness

The peace of the Lord be with you always. And also with you.

Scripture Lesson Matthew 18:21-35 Brad Clayton

Peter came and said to him, “Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.

For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves. When he began the reckoning, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him; and, as he could not pay, his lord ordered him to be sold, together with his wife and children and all his possessions, and payment to be made.

So the slave fell on his knees before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ And out of pity for him, the lord of that slave released him and forgave him the debt. But that same slave, as he went out, came upon one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and seizing him by the throat, he said, ‘Pay what you owe.’ Then his fellow slave fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’ But he refused; then he went and threw him into prison until he would pay the debt. When his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their lord all that had taken place. Then his lord summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked slave! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. Should you not have had mercy on your fellow slave, as I had mercy on you?’ And in anger his lord handed him over to be tortured until he would pay his entire debt. So my heavenly Father will also do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”

The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to You, O Christ!

Prayer of Dedication (responsive) Trinity Whitley Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

*Doxology Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise Christ all people here below;

praise Holy Spirit evermore; praise Triune God whom we adore. Amen.

*Affirmation of Faith: The Apostles Creed Trinity Whitley I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;

He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer Trinity Whitley

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Wednesday Evening Vespers. Join us on Wednesdays, 5:30-6 p.m. (note time change) for short vesper services outdoors at Faith. Bring your mask, chair or blanket. We gather socially distanced in the grassy area near the fire pit (next to the bus parking space) for a time of music, scripture and prayer together. The event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather.

Hanging of the Greens. This year we will be Hanging of the Greens during the week of November 23 through 28. Keeping with social distancing protocol, we plan to schedule small groups to work on different aspects of the effort. Please call Becky Miller to schedule a time and day during the week of Thanksgiving if you can give some time. We will work to fit everyone in so that we stay safe and have a beautiful Advent Sanctuary for worship. You can reach Becky at 850/727-1505. The task list is available at faithpcusa.org/upcomingevents.

Angel Tree. This year we are handling the Angel tree electronically. Simply go to this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d49a8af2fa6ffc25-2020. Sign up, shop for and wrap your gifts and return them to the church by December 7.

In-Person Worship. Watch your email each Monday for the reservation form for the follow-ing Sunday’s worship service (it is included in This Week at Faith). The link to the reservation form is also on our website under Return to Worship. Be sure and indicate if you will use the nursery and the age of your child(ren). The nursery is open from birth through preschool chil-dren.

Church Office. Note that the church office will close at noon on November 25 and remain closed on November 26 and 27 in observance of Thanksgiving.

As we prepare for the holiday season, before we get swept up by to-do lists and rushing around, we'll spend the month of November focusing on gratitude. As a people of faith, even in the midst of hard times, we have so much to be thankful for.

It is the season for giving thanks! Thank you to those who have already donated items for the Faith Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive. We will deliver baskets to more than 50 families -- a delicious Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings. You can still help us in several ways: We are in need of the following canned goods and nonperishable items: self-rising corn-

meal, sugar, cranberry sauce, gravy packets, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, yams, corn, peas, and other veggies.

Items should be placed in one of the drop-off bins at the sanctuary entrance or in the main church office today.

In addition, this year there will be a drive-by food drive TODAY from 5-6:45 p.m. We will have youth on the front steps of the Fellowship Hall where you can drop off non-perishables for the turkey boxes.

Monetary donations are also needed to help pay for fresh greens, apples, dinner rolls, pumpkin pies, and beautifully cooked turkeys. Please make checks payable to Faith Presby-terian and write "thanksgiving baskets" on the memo line, and drop checks off in the church office.
