Consensus sequences of sequence repeats present in solenoid proteins (+ positively charged amino acid; o, hydrophobic amino acid). Positions of a helices (red cylinders), 3-10 helices (blue cylinders) and beta strands (magenta arrows) are shown above the underlined portions of the sequences (3-10 helices are helices with a specific hydrogen-bonding pattern that differs from a helices). Consensus sequences have been taken from the literature and might have therefore been derived using different criteria for different protein motifs: protein farnesyltransferase (FTase) alpha subunit; tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR); HEAT repeat; armadillo repeat; ankyrin repeat; leucine-rich repeat variant (LRV); leucine-rich repeat/RI-like (LRR/RI), LRR/typical and LRR/internalin-like; insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor L domain (IGF-1R L); serralysin, GGxGxD repeat; hexapeptide repeat (HPR).
Proteine ripetute
