W5Who?

Who are you showcasing? Balenciaga, Rag & Bone, Valentino, Alexander Wang, DKNY, Michael Kors and Calvin Klein will all be shown.

Who is your client? Our target market is young professional women ages 20-35.

Who is paying the bill? Arianne Mieux, store owner of Warren Boutique.

What? What are we showcasing? We are showcasing our Spring / Summer 2013 collection.

When?Date: Friday, February 22nd, 2013

Time: Doors open at 7:00 PM, fashion show starts at 8:00 PM

Where?Location: Vancouver Art Gallery, 750 Hornby Street, Vancouver, BC, V6Z 2H7

Why?What is the objective of this event? The objective is to attract media attention and bring new clientele to Warren because we are a new retailer in Gastown. Although we have been open for a short while already, this will be our grand introduction to the city.

Publicity PlanTo create successful publicity, we have outreached to different local newspapers and publications to

mention our fashion show. This has been our main source of advertisement. We also will have a billboard on Robson and Burrard Street, a high traffic area with a similar market of consumers. We have hired a professional photographer to come in for the evening and take pictures that can be sent to the media immediately. Also, SW Audio+Visual will be recording the event and webcasting it live. We plan on making all of our photographs and videos of the night very accessible so that no publication has to go out of their way to write a piece about the boutique.

We are strongly encouraging the public to visit our online website. There you will find tickets for sale and an exciting sneak preview video of what the show will be like. It’s a great opportunity to intrigue Warren’s clients and grab media’s attention. Another way we plan on having the media attend our event is by finding our

Page 5: Dolls in the City

competitors and seeing who is talking about them. By approaching them individually and stating why we would make an impact on their publishing we feel there will be a good chance to have their attention.

Press Release

Spring/Summer 2013: Dolls in the CityOn Friday, February 22nd at 8:00 PM Warren’s runway girls will be walking at the Vancouver Art Gallery

for the boutique’s first ever Spring/Summer 2013 collection show. The designers that will be shown are Ashish, Balenciaga, Custo Barcelona, Rag & Bone, Valentino, Alexander Wang, Barbara Bui, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Fashion Fringe, Proenza Schouler, Theykens Theory, Jason Wu, Michael Kors, BCBG MaxAzria, BCBG by Herve Leger, Bottega Veneta, Celine, Chloe, Miu Miu, Alejandro Ingelmo, Bally and DSquared2. The theme of our show will be “Dolls in the City”. It is inspired by powerful women and every piece of clothing from the show could be worn by a typical city woman with any personality. Every woman is beautiful. By having all of our models makeup done to look as if they are a life size doll, it shows that every woman can make her life whatever she wants it to be. We don’t have only one direction. “We are all living dolls, it is up to us to pursue our dreams and make them reality” – Arianne Mieux, business owner of Warren Boutique.

Silk, linen, cotton, leather, lycra and nylon will all be used in the collections. Many silhouettes are being used that show strength and femininity. Each piece was carefully chosen and brought into the line up for a specific reason but compliment each other well. Bright colors such as apple green, light red, and cornflower blue are added to the collection. Others are toned down to just shades of ecru and black.

Makeup will be sponsored M.A.C. Cosmetics, who will be doing all of our runway models makeup and generously supplying the gift bags. The makeup on each of our models has a large aspect to the show. It will be beautifully simple, as to not distract anyone from the clothing. All of the hair products and stylists that will be from LURE Hair Salon and throughout the evening cocktails will be served with Grey Goose Vodka. Tickets are now available for purchase online at www.warrenboutique.ca. To contact us with any further questions, please contact Miller PR Agency.

Venue Details

Vancouver Art Gallery

Our event for the evening will take place at the Vancouver Art Gallery. The building that used to be the provincial courthouse is now one of the more unforgettable settings in the city for photography and film shoots. Although it has been turned into an art gallery, it is a great place to hold weddings, receptions, cocktail parties and corporate events.

The lobby, forecourt and rotunda are all spaces in the building that we will be renting. Inside you will find a soaring dome and twin marble staircases. The gallery’s rooftop pavilion is also a great spot to check out the view overlooking Robson Square. Unfortunately, our event won’t be held there because of the cold weather in February.

Page 7: Dolls in the City

P4 WESTCOAST NEWS BREAKING NEWS WWW.VANCOUVERSUN.COM WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23

RatesThe maximum time that an event can be held in the rotunda and forecourt is four hours. If an event goes over this time limit, or any guest, vendor or equipment is not removed there is a $500 per half hour charge until midnight. Rental fees include janitorial, engineering, security, and operations services. The gallery does not provide any catering services, tables, chairs, décor or linens.

Set Scenes & Décor

Lighting & Equipment

We have selected SW Audio+Visual to do our complete set up for lighting and most of the equipment. They have multiple branch locations throughout British Columbia with a multi-million dollar inventory. Their portfolio of events includes Eco Fashion and the BC Tourism Conference and the Vancouver Hyatt. Their services include audio visual and computer equipment rental, event staging, simultaneous interpretation, audience response and multi-microphone systems, exhibit and tradeshow solutions, webcasting, computer services, presentation management, press conferences and technical coordination for meetings, conventions, corporate events and trade shows.

After collaborating with an employee about the event, the end result is going to be urban chic. We will have a white backdrop along our 30 foot wall with an entrance in the middle for our models to walk through. On the backdrop there will be a projection of different city landscapes. We will have footlights along the stage, but to ensure the models don’t have shadows on their faces we will have four lighting trees to balance out the lighting. We also will have two follow spotlights at the end of the runway. In the rest of the venue we will have pink and blue LED lights to set the mood.

Also being supplied is our 40 foot runway that will be three feet off the ground, and a surround sound PA system for 300 people. It will also be recorded and webcasted to create publicity for the event. With all of these services, we have been quoted approximately $10,000 for the night.

Pedersen’s will be supplying our party supplies for the evening. We will be renting six round 36” diameter standup tables that will be in the forecourt and rotunda to hold cocktails and two 98’ x 48’ serpentine tables that will be set up on each side of the forecourt for the bartenders all with pink table clothes covering them. We have 350 11 oz water glasses and 500 cocktail glasses, four stainless steel cocktail shakers and 10 stainless steel water carafes and all other bar equipment necessities. Also, we have 268 white folding chairs to be placed around the runway

DécorA large portion of the décor will be the colorful lighting and projections on the backdrop of the show.

The color scheme is pink, blue, black and white. There will be white orchids spread throughout the venue and the pink and blue LED lighting that will be in every room will slightly reflect on the petals. The runway itself will be metallic silver so that the lighting reflects off of it.

IntroductionOn behalf of everyone involved in Dolls in the City, we would like to welcome you to an exciting

evening of avant-garde fashion and a never seen before spring/summer 2013 collection. Warren Boutique, which is brand new to the city, wants to start their years to come in the fashion industry with a bang! Everything that will be shown on the runway will be available in store as of the upcoming season. You will be seeing timeless pieces that will be able to be worn for years, and also some of the trendiest that

Page 30: Dolls in the City

Vancouver has ever seen. The collection consists of styles for daytime tea, working in the office, cocktails at 5:00, being a bad girl, and of course for black tie events.

The event has been sponsored by M.A.C. Cosmetics. All of the runway models makeup and the gift bags on each seat have been provided graciously by them and the production of the show has been put on by Miller PR Agency. We hope that you enjoy this much anticipated night!

Scene 1

These looks are suited for casual day time and are appropriate attire for shopping or lunch on the go. They are all very easy pieces that can just be thrown on without a care. From ecru to apple green, almost every style is a go to that can mix and match easily with other pieces.

(The first scene will be dramatically built up with the music. The mood will be energetic and exciting. The entire venue will be dark except for the colorful LED lights that will be on (See bottom of page for an example). The backdrops will turn on to the first day city scene backdrop. The footlights will turn on one by one in a straight pattern followed by the follow spot lights. The first model will start walking down the runway.)

Scene 2Every style that is shown in this scene was hand chosen and tailored to meet the needs of a

professional woman in the workforce. We are so proud that women have the power that they do today and we believe that they should rock it in the best clothes! We decided to only use neutrals in this scene. This is because every woman (or doll) has a colorful personality and we want those colors to shine the brightest in the office!

(After scene one, all of the lights will be off and it will be black in the venue except for the same LED lights that will be lighting up the room. The music will change from being energetic to dark and intense for about 45 seconds while the backdrop is turned off. After the normal music track continues on and a new city scene will appear. The white lights go back on and the models start to talk again.)

Scene 3This scene is catered to the younger clientele. These looks were all chosen to show off the beautiful

women wearing them and always party ready! Each piece is high fashion, but are the perfect pieces to get on the dance floor without a worry.

P25 WESTCOAST NEWS BREAKING NEWS WWW.VANCOUVERSUN.COM WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23

(The lights will turn off and the music will change again. This next scene is the “party doll” so the music will change to the sound of someone’s heart beating fast, similar to the feeling you would get being in a loud night club and the LED light’s will shine colorful again. After 45 seconds the music will start again and the backdrop of a different cityscape will appear.)

Page 31: Dolls in the City

Scene 4

Black leather is normally a huge trend for the fall/winter collections, but this year we love it so much that we’re bringing it in all year round. This hides and skins that were chosen to make each fabulous piece are very light so make sure you don’t only look cool, you feel cool too. These are all pieces that can be worn in the spring on a rainy day, or most on a hot date in the summertime!

(Again the lights will turn off in the venue and the LED lights will reappear. The music will change again to a tune suited for “bad girls”. After 45 seconds the normal track will start again and models dressed in black leather will begin walking with another different city scene.)

Scene 5

Our final scene for the night is about classic elegance. We are showing some of the most breath taking styles by some incredible designers. These will be the must have dresses for any black tie event! The brilliant cuts and designs are suiting for a wide range of women.

(For the last time we will be having the colorful LED lights shine. The music will be exciting, but have more of a classic feeling to it. Again after 45 seconds we will be showing our last city scene before the finale. The girls will start walking again. As soon as each looks has had its time to shine on the runway, the backdrop will turn to a solid pink color and starting with the looks from scene one the girls will all walk in a line for the very last time.)

OutroWe would like to thank you for attending Dolls in the City fashion show. We are so excited to see

how fabulous every woman looks in our collection! This evening would not be possible if it wasn’t for M.A.C. Cosmetics who was responsible for the makeup and gift bags, LURE Hair Salon for their stylists and products, Grey Goose Vodka for the cocktails, and lastly the PR agency that made this dream of ours come true, MillerPR. There is something in our boutique for any event that on your calendar and we look forward to seeing everyone soon!
