For a while now I have been observing people walking their dogs through mylocal park, it occurred to me the differences and similarities between the dogwalkers and the dogs, how the walker could seem similar to the dog. When Istarted talking to them and photographing them those similarities became moreevident, the way in which they posed in front of the camera was very interestingbecause immediately I could see the relationships the dog had with the walker.Photographing them as I encountered them, in the environment they chose to walk,but making them individual from that environment and getting close to them tobring out the unique relationship between each subject. However for this book, Iwanted to look at another perspective, to look at how the dog walkers fit into theworld. The idea of “International Dog Walkers” came about by looking on GoogleStreet View and noticing someone walking their dog. The original idea of observingdog walkers captured me and I knew that these were my observations but millionsof people could see them online. The images are from all over the world, differentcultures in different environments, how the dog walkers fit into the world is visible.
