Flash Header with Menu for Dreamweaver is a simple, effective, and efficient way to add a headerand menu to your site without JavaScript or Flash coding. Flash elements consists of two parts - smoothlychanging slides and menu bar. Above this slides you can put another image (logo of your company) andadd animated titles. Nice Flash menu bar is situated under the header and it drops over slides. Using awide range of parameters help you to configurate flash elements according your design tastes.

INSTALLATION

Download and unzip package FlashHeader.zip. Flash Header with Menu with XML Description is distributed

as a Adobe Dreamweaver 8 (or later) extension, packed as a file named FlashHeader.mxp. To install it,you just need to execute that file or use the Adobe Extension Manager. Once installed, the extension FlashHeader with Menu can be accessed - after restarting Dreamweaver - through the menu option "Insert ->Media -> Flash Header with Menu"or in the Insert Bar.

INSERTING FLASH OBJECT

Open Macromedia Dreamweaver, open document in which you want place header with menu. Flash objectcan be inserted in page through the menu option "Insert -> Media -> Flash Header with Menu"or in theInsert Bar.

After choosing Flash Header with Menu you will see a dialog window where you have to define the folderand name to save .swf file. This file will be loaded during browsing your web page and this Flash file isresponsible for Flash Header with Menu representing.

Thats all! In the design view of your web page you will see new Flash element

EDIT XML FILE

Create new XML file or edit a file from package. In this file you should write items caption and urls.

XML file structure:

Tags description:

- main tag, contains top and bottom menu - top tag, contains all top menu items with sub menu

- bottom tag, contains all bottom menu items with sub menu - tag item have attributes:

caption - item textlink - urltarget - url target

After you have made XML file, you should set to it a path in the parameters of flash element, parameterxmlSource(Click on Flash Object, then F9).

SET PARAMETERS

You can change appearance of header by establishing values of flash element parameters. All parametersof the Flash Header with Menu appearance can be configured in "Tag Inspector"(Click on Flash Object,then F9).

In parameter imagesspecify the path to your images files. And in the parameter titlesyou canwrite captions of slides that will occur when changing slides.

Set slideWidthand slideHeightaccording to the size of your images. If necessary, use parameter logoFileto display your logo over the slides. To create rounded corners set amount of curvature in the parameter cornerRadius. If

cornerRadiusis set equal to 0, the corners are straight.

In determining the value of parameter snowfallEnabled Yes | No, you can switch on and offsnowfall effect. Use the appropriate option to customize it.

SET FLASH OBJECT SIZE

The flash object appears in your document window in "Design view". You need to set the flash objectwidth and height according to the real header size (which appears in browser) by dragging the sizinghandles.
