1970

This information on health occupations training in Massachusetts was collected in the spring and

summer of 1970 as part of a survey of training institutions in all six New England States.

The

survey was conducted by the Training Center for Comprehensive Care, Tufts University, under Contract

No. NIH 70-4151 with the National Institutes of Health, Public Health Service.

Survey information

on all training programs in the New England States will be published in the form of a directory

by the National Institutes of Health in 1971.

The directory will contain detailed information

about each training program, including admission requirements, costs, affiliations, enrollment

and capacity, and a descriptive text on each occupation.

This preliminary listing for Massachusetts can be used as a replacement to the inventories published

in 1967 and 1968 by the Training Center for Comprehensive Care:

Part One, "Massachusetts Health

Manpower Training at Less than a Baccalaureate Level"; Part Two, "Massachusetts Health Manpower

Training in Four-Year Colleges and Universities".

These inventories also have text describing each

occupation.

Fuller descriptions are in the U.S. Department of Labor "Health Careers Guidebook".
