nor disciplines him. How horrid would it be not to be provided for or instructed by God? ______

1 John 1:7 (KJV) 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with 

another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

         The following is a non-exhaustive list of things that can hinder physical healing.   However, 

there is more to Christian living than mere physical healing.  The following list can be roadblocks 

to other blessings as well as healing and a good checklist for our own spiritual wellbeing.

Exodus 15:26c (KJV)….  For I am the LORD that heals you. 

GOD IS THE HEALER.

Christians are held to a higher standard than nonbelievers.  We are told in Deut. 28, that if we obey the Words of God none of the diseases of Egypt would come upon us.  That is preventative medicine!  

God does heal.  There often is however, hidden blocks that withholds God’s Hand of Blessing in our lives.

Generational iniquity unknown to us that go back many generations and can affect our today. Knowing the roots does not guarantee that God will move on our behalf, but very often it does. It is estimated that 80% of  all disease has a spiritual root.   The wages of sin is still death—to something.   There are consequences to sin.  Unless we are aware of possible blocks to healing, we will not be equipped to deal with the blocks.  However, unless we master the first block to healing we will not see any permanent healing.

     

1. UNFORGIVENESS

The context for receiving forgiveness is forgiving others.

Mark 11:22-26 (NASB) And Jesus answered* saying to them, "Have faith in God. 23 "Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.  24 

"Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them,  and   they  will  be  granted  you.  25  "Whenever  you   stand  praying,   forgive,  if   you  have anything   against   anyone,   so   that   your   Father  who   is   in  heaven  will   also   forgive   you   your transgressions.     26     ["But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive    your transgressions."] 

Matthew 6:14-15 (NASB) for  if you forgive men for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 "But if you do not forgive men, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. 

if this first block is not dealt with, there can be no further progress in any dimension. God’s forgiveness of you is in direct relationship to how you forgive your brother.   Forgiveness from the Father is not a one-way street—our forgiveness from God the Father begins vertically to the degree that we make it work horizontally. in the area of forgiveness; it  is an attitude of the heart, not a ritual of performance.

2. IGNORANCE OR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE

People who are ignorant do not know they are ignorant. You cannot have wisdom unless you first have knowledge.  Knowledge apart from wisdom is foolishness.  Knowledge ties the past to the present and wisdom ties the present to the future.

Isaiah 5:13 (NASB) Therefore  My  people  go   into  exile   [CAPTIVITY]   for   their   lack  of knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude is parched with thirst. 

Hosea 4:6 (NASB) my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.     Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being my priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.        Forget (our children) shaw-kay'-akh; a primitive root; to mislay, i.e. to be oblivious of, from want of memory or attention.

They simply do not know—but should!  Reject what you DO know?    How foolish can that be!

Hebrews 4:11-14 (NASB) 11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall through    following    the same example of disobedience   .  12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. 14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 

3. NO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD ACCORDING TO KNOWLEDGE

If you don’t think God heals today (for you) He doesn’t.   If you don’t think God delivers today (for you) He won’t.  If you think healing and deliverance passed away with the apostles - for you it did.   The Word declares that it is “according to our faith” be it unto you.   Matthew 9:29-30 (KJV)

Isaiah 29:13 (NASB) Then  the Lord said,   "Because  this  people  draw near  with   their words and honor me with their lip service, but they remove their hearts far from Me, and their reverence for me consists of tradition learned by rote,  

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) but without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 

James 4:1-3 (NASB) what is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members?  2  You lust and do not have;  so  you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain; so, you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Sometimes people want something from God but they are not  in covenant.   Some came to Jesus, not because they wanted to be in covenant, not because they wanted to repent and be baptized, but they came to Jesus because they were sick.     Sometimes we come for the same reason.

It is also to be noted that after Jesus healed and delivered them they followed Him. 

 

4.   PERSONAL AND FAMILY SINS

Not only is genetically inherited diseases passed through generations, but also such things as non-genetic factors as disposition, personality quirks, and idiosyncrasies are also passed down through family trees.  Sins passed along through family lines are called iniquities. (Exodus 20:5).

In  Nehemiah 9:1-2  we read about   the   Israelites  confessing   their   sins  and  the sins  of   their fathers.  Why?  So, that they could be freed from the curse of sin generationally.

Nehemiah 9:1-2 (NASB) now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the sons of Israel assembled  with   fasting,   in   sackcloth  and  with  dirt  upon  them.  2  The  descendants  of   Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers. 

Not only do we have to consider personal sins separating us from God; we also have to consider inherited family tree sins. 

Isaiah 59:1-2 (NASB) 1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear. 2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. 

Exodus 20:5 (NASB) (Also: Deut. 5:9) 5 "You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate me, 

How can we know what our ancestors 120 to 160 years ago, did or did not do?  (1 generation = 40 yrs.)     The answer is: “what is manifesting?”     Manifesting means that the  invisible  is now becoming visible.

Why do medical doctors ask for “FAMILY HISTORY OF...”?

5. NOT HAVING FAITH IN GOD 

Jesus told His disciples (us) to have faith in God.   (Mark 11:22)

Jesus told us to have faith and not doubt.  (Matthew 21:21)

The   children   of   Israel   did   not   enter   into   their   promise   because   they   did   not   have   faith. (Hebrews 4:2, 6)

Jesus could not do any great miracles in Nazareth because of their unbelief.  (Mark 6:5-6)

Jesus removed the unbelievers before he raised the little girl.  (Mark 5:36-42)

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) but without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) 1  now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 

How does faith come?   Romans 10:17 (KJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  

  6. THE NEED TO SEE A MIRACLE

Crafty old Herod hoped to have seen Jesus do a miracle.  (Luke 23:8) Jesus did not comply.  At the cross, the mockers wanted Jesus to come down from the cross.  (Matt. 27:42) Jesus did no miracles for the mockers or the curiosity seekers.   He did not pray indiscriminately for all the sick. Why aren’t all healed?  There are definite conditions to healing.  1st we are to look to The Healer! 

 

 7. LOOKING FOR SIGNS AND WONDERS

Believers should not follow signs and wonders but signs and wonders should follow believers.

There is a great difference between chasing a thing and having that thing following you.

John 4:45-48 (NASB) So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him,  having seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they themselves also went to the

feast.  46  Therefore He came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a royal official whose son was sick at Capernaum.  47  When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and was imploring Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death. 48  So Jesus said to him, "Unless you    people    see signs    and wonders, you    simply    will not believe."    

People watched what Jesus did at the feast, he turned water into wine!  Wow, that could draw a crowd!   People will follow miracle workers.  People have a hunger for the supernatural.  People will follow anything associated with sensationalism.  (I once taught a 6th grade Sunday School class, the kids shared how a group of them would ask a lit candle questions, if it flared up the answer was one thing, if it remained the same it meant the opposite.  They were so excited—because it worked!)

The issue is perspective.   We must seek God and His Word, not the signs and wonders as the foundation of our faith.

People chase signs and wonders rather than seeking the Word of God.   Jesus called them an “evil and adulterous generation” seeking after a sign; [and there shall be no sign given to it] but the sign of the prophet Jonas.    (Matthew 12:38-39)

Matthew 12:38-39 (NASB) Then   some   of   the   scribes   and   Pharisees   said   to   Him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you." 39  But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet; 

The question becomes, what am I looking for?

Matthew 6:33 (NASB) “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 

8. EXPECTING GOD TO HEAL ON ONE’S OWN TERMS

We tell God exactly what He is going to do, when He is going to do it, and how He is going to do it.  Then we expect Him to do it, just this way (the terms that I set forth).

Naaman (2 Kings 5:8-14)  had expectations  just how God’s  prophet was to heal  his disease. When the man of God simply sent a messenger (listen man I’m important—I demand the ‘big guns’).   Nor did he like the instructions.  Naaman got angry and walked away.

2 Kings 5:8-14 (NASB) It happened when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes,  that he sent  word  to the king,  saying,  "Why have you torn your clothes? Now let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel."  9  So Naaman came with his horses and his chariots and stood at the doorway of the house of Elisha. 10  Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you and you will be clean." 11 But Naaman was furious and went away and said, "Behold, I thought, 'He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.' 12 "Are not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?" So, he turned and went away in a rage. 13 Then his servants came near and spoke to him and said, "My father, had the prophet told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, 'Wash, and be clean'?" 14 So he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child and he was clean. 

Pride was the root of Naaman’s spiritual sin. 

Pride wants only the Pastor to pray for them - OR the key conference speaker.  

Sometimes we think God loves other people more than me.  “I’ve been a saint 48 years and I’m still waiting for my healing!” Sometimes we expect God to do it because I’m me.

An  interesting aside.    Naaman came from a culture that was steeped  into spiritualism.    He expected Elisha to “abracadabra”.   Had Elisha  not have Naaman do things the  God of Israel’s way, he would have credited some mystical deity.  It wasn’t until Naaman did it God’s way that he received his healing.

Just a thought. Maybe God’s way may be through the way of repentance.

Maybe I need to take responsibility for my sin or the sins of my generations.

9. LOOKING TO MAN RATHER THAN TO GOD

Jeremiah 17:5 (KJV) thus says the LORD; cursed  be  the man that trusts  in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD. 

Physicians have their place, but in the area of spiritually rooted disease, dis-ease, they will not

be able to bring forth the healing.  The best they can offer is to cover the symptoms looking to man   for   the  healing  before   seeking  God  and  without   giving   consideration   to   the   spiritual dynamics behind the curse of disease is a block to healing.

The Blessed man is the one that trusts in the LORD.

Jeremiah 17:7 (KJV) blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 

Jeremiah 17:9-10 (KJV) the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. 

a  [I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins [(keliy)   (only  in the plural);  a  kidney  (as  an essential organ); figurative the mind (as the interior self)] , even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings] This is the answer to the question of  Jer. 17:9.   God   alone   knows   the   heart   because:     1.   He   searches   it.     2.   He   tries   the   reins (kidneys/MIND) for the purpose of distributing rewards according to the ways and doings of each man.

Asa sought out the physicians instead of God (when God had previously proven himself), and this led to his death.   (2 Chronicles 16:12-13)

2 Chronicles 16:12-13 (NASB) in the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa became diseased in his feet. His disease was severe, yet even in his disease he did not seek the Lord, but the physicians. 13 So Asa slept with his fathers, having died in the forty-first year of his reign. 

Jeremiah 17:5 (KJV) 5  thus says the LORD; cursed  be  the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD. 

This is a hard word; BUT, if the church would be busy being the Church, the Church’s mission at this level (divine health/healing/deliverance) would not fail in its mission to represent God.  The people have nowhere else to turn (but to physicians).  The western church today just does not understand disease and the cause for it, which is spiritually rooted in 80 percent of all cases. 

10. NOT BEING HONEST AND TRANSPARENT   

Fear and Pride are the two biggest reasons for not being honest and transparent.  (Fear of man, failure, abandonment, of not being loved, etc.) Pride is dangerous because it makes you appear

holy when you are not.  Superior when you are not.  More worthy of respect when you are not. Pride is a fraudulent existence, you are living a lie. We are to confess our faults one to another.

   James 5:16 (NASB)16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. 

      Proverbs 28:13 (KJV) He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy. 

God hates pride, hypocrisy, and fraud.   But we are so afraid of each other (even within the church) because we have been so murdered by each other’s tongues that we cannot trust each other.

The Word teaches us:    1 Peter 4:8 (NASB)                                                                                                                            

                         Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. 

1 John 4:18 (KJV)There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. 

11. FLAGRANT SIN OR HABITUAL SIN

There is a difference between temptation, falling into sin, then repenting and getting out of sin and living habitually in sin.  Temptation is not sin.

Romans 6:1-2 (NASB) 1 what shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? 2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? 

Romans 6:23 (NASB) for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 

Galatians 5:19-21 (NASB) Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,  20  idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions,   factions,  21  envying,   drunkenness,   carousing,   and   things   like   these,   of  which   I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who (habitually)  practice  such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

It is important to realize that grace and mercy do not absolve us from responsibility for holiness.

12. ROBBING GOD IN TITHES AND OFFERINGS   

Malachi 3:8-11 (NASB)"Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing me! But you say, 'How have we robbed you?' In tithes and offerings. 9 "You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you! 10 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the Lord of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. 11 "Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes," says the Lord of hosts. 

Everything we have belongs to God.  He just loans it to us.  So, robbing God is not just in tithes and offerings, but in the first fruits of our substance, including our time.

13.   SOME ARE JUST NOT SAVED

Not to be saved is to perish because they received not the truth so they might be saved.

2 Thessalonians 2:10 (NASB) and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.    [Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved] This states the reason God will permit such strong delusion at this time (2Th. 2:10-12). If  men determine to go to hell,  there is nothing further that God can do to rescue them (Mt. 25:41; Rom. 1:21-32).

God will give them over to further delusion and greater separation from God and cannot be healed and delivered because they are not in covenant and they are not saved.   Others have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge. They worship whom they do not know.

14. THE SIN OF OUR PARENTS

David and Bathsheba’s child died because of the sin of adultery and murder.  (2 Samuel 12:13-14)

1 Kings 14:1-13, describes an incident in the life of King Jeroboam.  God took his son in order that wicked King Jeroboam would not corrupt him.  

15. SOMETIMES THE SIN IS UNTO DEATH

1 John 5:16-17 (NASB) If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading  to death ; I do not say that he should make request for this. 17 All unrighteous is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death. 

2 Chronicles 21:15 (KJV) And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day. 

Death— a "state of soul in which faith, love, and hope, in short, the new life, is extinguished.

When it is deliberate rejection of grace, and the man puts from him life thereby, how can others procure for him life?" Contrast Jas 5:14-18. Compare Mt 12:31, 32 as to the willful rejection of Christ, and resistance to the Holy Ghost's plain testimony to Him as the divine Messiah. Jesus, on the cross, pleaded only for those who KNEW NOT what they were doing  in crucifying Him, not for those willfully resisting grace and knowledge. If we pray for the impenitent, it must be with humble reference of the matter to God's will, not with the intercessory request which we should offer for a brother when erring.

Unless the sin is dealt with, the disease (which is the fruit of the sin) will be a disease unto death.

Diseases coming out of Bitterness and Unforgiveness are diseases unto death.

2 Timothy 2:24-26 (NASB) The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26  and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. 

Galatians 6:1 (NASB) Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.

Sanctification for healing needs to be taught today in the church.

Ahaziah sent to inquire of Baalzebub when he fell sick.   He dabbled in sorcery and under the Law of Moses it brought a penalty of death.  (2 Kings 1:2-8) 

King Saul died prematurely because of his sins.  (1 Chron. 10:13-14)

Sometimes insanity is due to dabbling in the occult.

Solomon died prematurely at age 60 because of disobedience to God and following the gods of his pagan wives.  God appeared to him two times regarding this issue and he would not listen.

16. OUR ALLOTTED TIME IN LIFE IS FULFILLED

Psalms 90:10 (NASB) as for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, or if due to strength, eighty years, yet their pride is  but  labor and sorrow; for soon it is gone and we fly away. 

Psalms 90:12 (KJV) so teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. 

Proverbs 10:27 (KJV)  the fear of the LORD prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. 

 

17. LOOKING TO SYMPTOMS AND NOT TO THE HEALER

Symptoms are the fruit—not the root.

Get your eyes off the pain, off the disease, and on to the Lord and His Word (and keep it there).

Proverbs 18:14 (NASB) the spirit of a man can endure his sickness, but as for a broken spirit who can bear it? 

The Bible says that the spirit of the man shall  sustain him in his  infirmity.    You may have a disease and you may have pain at this point, but your human spirit is immune to it.

Romans 8:11 (NASB) But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit

who dwells in you.  

18. LETTING FEAR ENTER YOUR HEARTS

Fear will quench your faith, and faith will vanquish your fears.

 Faith projects good into your future.  Fear projects evil into your future.

Job 3:24-26 (KJV) for my sighing comes before I eat, and my roarings (cries) are poured out like the waters. 25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come upon me.  26  I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came. 

Proverbs 10:24 (NASB) what the wicked fears will come upon him, But the desire of the righteous will be granted. 

  Isaiah 38:17 (KJV) Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. 

19. FAILURE TO GET AWAY IN PRAYER AND FASTING

You do not pray and fast to receive from God—you pray and fast to meet God.

Isaiah 58:1-14 (NASB) "Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, and declare to my people their transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins.  2  "Yet they seek me day by day and delight to know my ways, as a nation that has done righteousness and has not forsaken the ordinance of their God. They ask me  for  just decisions, they delight  in the nearness of God. 3 'Why have we fasted and you do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and you do not notice?' Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, and drive hard all your workers. 4 "Behold, you fast for contention and strife and to strike with a wicked fist. You do not fast like you do today to make your voice heard on high. 5 "Is it a fast like this which I choose, a day for a man to humble himself? Is it for bowing one's head like a reed and for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed? Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the Lord? 6 "Is this not the fast which I choose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke? 7  "Is it not to divide your bread

with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house; when you see the naked, to cover him; and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?  8  "Then your light will break out like the dawn, and your recovery will speedily spring forth; and your righteousness will go before you; the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. 9 "Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.' If you remove the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness, 10 And if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will become like midday. 11 

"And the Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. 12 "Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will raise up the age-old foundations; and you will be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of the streets in  which to dwell.  13  "If  because  of   the  Sabbath,  you  turn your   foot  From doing  your  own pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, the holy  day of the Lord honorable, And honor it,  desisting from your  own  ways, From seeking your  own  pleasure And speaking your own word, 14 Then you will take delight in the Lord, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with  the heritage of Jacob your father, For the mouth of the Lord has spoken." 

In your service to God, God will meet you and heal you of your diseases.  As you give to others, God will give back to you.  This is the “fast” He has called you to.  Service unto others breaks the yoke.

20. IMPROPER CARE OF THE BODY      

We have a part in the overall health of our body.  Our sanctification is in direct proportion to our fellowship with God.  Fellowship is nothing less than God’s greatest gift—Himself.  This gift is not primarily forgiveness, victory over sin, peace of soul, nor even hope of heaven.  It is fellowship with Him, which includes all of these and without which none of these can exist. The fruit of this fellowship is holiness.

God created us to need proper food, water, exercise, and rest.  If you are not taking reasonable care of yourself, you will pay a high price.  This is the consequence of negligence.   AND, this is  rebellion.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (NASB) Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.

It is possible to become “sick unto death” even in serving the Lord.  (Phil. 2:25-30)    REST!

If we do not take care of ourselves we will end up in sin, and sin becomes a block to our own healing.

21. NOT DISCERNING THE LORD’S BODY

1 Corinthians 11:27-30 (NASB) 27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.  30  For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and  a number sleep.               This means they die prematurely.

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NASB) surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we  ourselves  esteemed  Him  stricken,   Smitten  of  God,  and  afflicted.  5  But  He  was  pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.  

Matthew 8:17 (NASB) this was  to   fulfill  what  was  spoken  through  Isaiah  the prophet:  "He Himself took our infirmities and carried away our diseases." 

1 Peter 2:24 (NASB) and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 

Matthew 21:21-22 (NASB) And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen.  22  "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." 

Mark 9:23 (NASB) And Jesus said to him, “‘If You can?' All things are possible to him who believes." 

Mark 11:22-24 (NASB) And Jesus answered* saying to them, "Have faith in God. 23 "Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.  24 

"Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received

them, and they will be granted you. 

*1 Corinthians 11:26-31 (NASB) for as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes. 27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.   28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29

Communion  is  a  commandment.    We are celebrating the remembrance of Christ—His shed blood and His  broken body.    When we partake  unworthily  of  what   forgiveness  by  God represents, and do not repent for our wrong doing, then we are guilty of fraud, and you have cursed yourself with a curse because you have made what Jesus did at the cross of no effect for you.

It is not the sacrament that saves you—it is the obedience.

We  need   to   judge   ourselves  with   regard   to   sin.    We   bring   forth   the   repentance   so   the forgiveness, deliverance, and healing can be appropriated and bring forth its benefits.  Judging ourselves involves confessing specifically what is being repented of.  

Another aspect of communion.

We (the true church) are the body of Christ.

This aspect  has to do with “eating each other alive”.      The body of believers attacking one another in relationships (you could call it a spiritual ‘autoimmune disease’ - the body attacking the body.

We must learn to discern one another as part of our own body.

1 Corinthians 12:27 (NASB) Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it. 

Galatians 6:2 (NASB) Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. 

 

1 John 3:14 (NASB) we know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. 

Communion is saying to ourselves that we should do for our brother/sister as Christ did for us.

We should be willing to “lay down our life” in service to our brothers and sisters.

1 Corinthians 10:16-17 (KJV)  The   cup   of   blessing   which   we   bless,   is   it   not   the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 17  For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. 

1 John 1:7 (KJV) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. 

Aspect three.     To those who do not believe that healing is for today.

The shed blood of Jesus was for the remission of sin.

The broken bread represents the stripes that were laid on Jesus (His broken body).  

1 Peter 2:24 (NASB) and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 

rapha'  “healed” - to mend; cure; heal; repair; make whole (Isa. 53:5; 10). It has no reference to spiritual healing whatsoever. 

The Hebrew: rapha' (HSN-<H7495>) is translated "cure" (Jer. 33:6); "make whole" (Job 5:18); "heal" (Isa. 19:22;  57:18-19;  Num. 12:13;  Dt. 32:39;  2Ki. 20:5,8;  Ps. 6:2;  Jer. 17:14;  30:17; Hos.   6:1;  Zech.   1:16);   "healed"   (6:10;  53:4;  Gen.   20:17;  Ex.   21:19;  8,37;  14:3,49;  Dt. 28:27,35;  1Sam. 6:3;  2Ki. 8:29;  9:15;  2Chr. 22:6;  30:20;  Ps. 30:2;  107:20;  Jer. 17:14;  Ezek. 34:4;  Hos. 7:1;  11:3); "heals" (Isa. 30:26;  Ex. 15:26;  Ps. 103:3;  147:3); "thoroughly healed" (Ex. 21:19); and "physician" (Gen. 50:2; 2Chr. 16:12; Job 13:4; Jer. 8:22).

When we do not believe, healing is for today and teach that it is not, and then take the bread of communion, which represents the freedom from the curse, but deny freedom is for today, we have brought a curse into our lives.  We are cursed with a curse (which is disease).   We curse ourselves in ignorance.   This happens because we negate one-half of what Christ did at the cross.

22. TOUCHING GOD’S ANOINTED LEADERS.

1 Chronicles 16:22 (KJV) (also: Ps. 105:15)        22 Saying, touch not my anointed, and do

my prophets no harm. 

God’s   anointed  are   those   set-in  places   for   leadership   in  a  ministry   and   this   includes   their families.

Daniel 5:21 (KJV)  ...that the Most-High God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appoints over it whomsoever he will.  

Miriam was struck with leprosy when she murmured against the wife of Moses (Numbers 12)

Korah and the 250 elders of Israel were swallowed up by the earth.  (Numbers 16)

When Moses went up the mountain 40 days, the people rebelled and appointed Aaron to make for them a golden calf.  There is no record of Aaron ever repenting for having done so.  Yet, he was not even afflicted with  leprosy as Miriam had.       Is  God unfair?    Is  God a respecter of persons?  What kept Aaron from not being annihilated?   

Numbers 20:22-29 (NASB) Now when they set out from Kadesh, the sons of Israel, the whole congregation, came to Mount Hor. 23 Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron at Mount Hor by the border of the land of Edom, saying, 24 "Aaron will be gathered to his people; for he shall not enter the land which I have given to the sons of Israel, because you rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah. 25 "Take Aaron and his son Eleazar and bring them up to Mount Hor; 26 and strip Aaron of his garments and put them on his son Eleazar. So, Aaron will be gathered to his people, and will die there."  27  So Moses did just as the Lord had commanded, and they went up to Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. 28 After Moses had stripped Aaron of his garments and put them on his son Eleazar, Aaron died there on the mountain top. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain. 29 When all the congregation saw that Aaron had died, all the house of Israel wept for Aaron thirty days. 

When Aaron was stripped of his “garments” (representing his anointing) he died.  The anointing keeps the person until the anointing  is  removed.  God will   judge the  stewardship  of  our anointing.

23. IMMODERATE EATING

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NASB) Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body.

Our body belongs to the Lord and we have a responsibility to give them proper rest, exercise, and good nutrition.

Foolish presumptuous faith negates the wisdom of God in good eating and will not promote health of the body.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (NASB) Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. 

24. PURE UNBELIEF

Mark 6:4-6 (KJV) But Jesus said unto them, a prophet is not without honor, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. 5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folks, and healed  them.  6  And  he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went around about the villages, teaching. 

Hebrews 4:1-11 (KJV) 1 let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but  the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, as I have sworn in my  wrath,  if they shall enter   into  my   rest:   although   the  works   were   finished   from   the foundation of the world. 4 For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5 And in this place again, if they shall enter into my rest.  6  Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached  entered not  in because of unbelief:  7  Again, he  limits a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.  

 

25. FAILING TO KEEP YOUR LIFE FILLED UP WITH GOD    

John 5:14 (KJV) Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

Matthew 12:43-45 (KJV) when the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none.  44  Then he says I  will  return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he finds it empty, swept, and garnished. 45  Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. 

 When God delivers you, you have an obligation to stay filled up.  The same knowledge that set you free will keep you free.

 If someone “loses their healing” it is likely that they have fallen back into the same sin that fostered the sickness or disease in the first place.  The enemy is lazy.  He needs you in order to be fulfilled.   So, the enemy will fill you.  When the enemy is in you he is at peace.  Outside of you he is in torment.   When the enemy is in you, you are in torment, he is at peace.  You have the tools that will keep you free.     “Go, and sin no more!”

26. NOT RESISTING THE ENEMY  

Hezekiah (Isaiah 38:1-5) had a sickness unto death.  He was told he was going to die.  He called upon the Name of The Lord and was granted fifteen more years of life.

He did not go into a pity-party, he called on the name of The Lord. We have not, because we ask not.      Our first  response always is to ASK.    The enemy is always trying to devour mankind through temptation.  But you CAN defeat him.

1 Peter 5:8-9 (NASB) Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around  like  a   roaring  lion,   seeking  someone  to devour.  9  But   resist  him,  firm  in  your  faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. 

James 4:7-8 (NASB) Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

27. JUST GIVING UP

If you look at symptoms, if you look at the prognosis, if you look at the word ‘incurable’ and you agree and accept this as the truth, rather than pursuing healing in the face of what everything in the physical realm would indicate, you are just giving up.   You are buying the lie over God’s revealed Truth that nothing is impossible with God.

The Lord is  more magnified in a healing than in a premature death.   God does not need a disease to bring you to heaven.  Sickness and disease are curses and they do not have to be a way of life.

 28. MURMURING AND COMPLAINING

Miriam’s leprosy came as a result of her murmuring against Moses’ wife.  (Nu. 12:1-15)

The children of Israel did not enter the promised land because of their murmuring.

We are warned not to murmur.

1 Corinthians 10:10-11 (NASB) Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer. 11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. 

Philippians 2:14-15 (NASB) Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15  so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, 

29. LOOKING FOR REPEATED HEALINGS INSTEAD OF DIVINE HEALTH

God’s perfect will is not to heal you, God’s perfect will is for you not to get sick in the first place.

Exodus 15:26 (NASB)  And He said, "If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the Lord,

am your healer." 

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (NASB) Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

The same principles used to heal you, when applied, will keep you from getting sick!

30. TRYING TO BYPASS THE PENALTY OF THE CURSE

When we do not come before God to deal with the sin in the situation; when we do not deal with the root cause; then the modalities of healing we come up with to try to get well are an attempt to bypass the penalty of the curse.   We try to get well without doing it God’s way (in obedience to Him).   For example, if we maintain Fear and Anxiety with the fruit of high blood pressure and  instead rely on medication to regulate our blood pressure,  it   is  attempting to bypass   the  penalty  of   the  curse.  Cancer   resulting   from Bitterness,  without   forgiveness  and repentance for the sin of bitterness will keep the cancer alive.

Reincarnation is an attempt by mankind to bypass judgment—to get around it.

The Word tells us that disease is a curse.   The curse comes from disobedience (somewhere). There is a cause.

Proverbs 26:2 (KJV)  as the bird by wandering,  as the swallow by flying,  so the curse causeless shall not come. 

Proper  medical   care   including  diagnosis   is  needful.    However,   this   is  a   teaching   looking  at possible spiritual  roots  that trigger disorders, dis-ease, and disease.   This information is being offered as a spiritual insight to psychological and biological disease with regard to the etiology [the   study   of   causation,   or   origination]   of   various   diseases   and   must   be   recognized   in conjunction with the healing and/or prevention of these diseases.

31. REJECTING HEALING AS PART OF THE COVENANT FOR TODAY   

1 Peter 2:24 (NASB) and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 

 

Isaiah 53:5 (NASB) But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. 

Psalms 103:3 (NASB) who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; 

Is this what the Word says?

Isaiah 8:20 (NASB)  to the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no light in them. 

No person, no group, no organization, no church, has authority to change/override, or depart from the word of  God.     In whatever respect  or  degree any person,  group,  organization,  or church departs from the word of God, in that respect and in that degree, they are in darkness. There is no light in them.   

32. HATING AND NOT OBEYING INSTRUCTION

Proverbs 5:11-13 (NASB) And you groan at your final end, when your flesh and your body are  consumed;  12  and you say,  "How I  have hated  instruction! And my heart  spurned reproof!  13  "I   have   not   listened   to   the   voice   of  my   teachers,   nor   inclined  my   ear   to  my instructors!

 

Isaiah 28:8-12 (KJV) for all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.  9  Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 

for with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12  To whom he said, this is the rest wherewith you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV) all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 

33. PAST AND CONTINUED INVOLVEMENT WITH OCCULTISM

Psalms 90:12 (KJV) 12 so teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.   (God’s Wisdom)

When we exalt   the  wisdom of   the  gods  (gods  of   this  world)   ‘New Age modalities’,  we are following a mind-set that is an abomination to God because these ways of thinking and actions do not even include Him and  do not match His Word.     [Diviner, astrologer, soothsayer,  false prophet, pharmakeia].

These philosophies are an attempt to bypass the penalty of the curse, which fruit is disease. We attempt to fix ourselves apart from the repentance for sin.

 These modalities are “dead works” which we need to repent of.  (Heb. 6:1)

The first   line of  defense against  occultism  is  knowing the Word of  God,  and putting  it   into practice.  Perfect peace belongs to those whose minds are fixed on the Lord.  (Isa. 26:3)

Some observable characteristics of occult bondage and influence are:  deep confusion, hatred of God, distrust of God, inability to sleep—night torment, night terror, hostility, aggression and conflict,   fear   of   authority,   fear   of   relationships,   impatience,   control   of   others,   suspicion, frustration,   insanity,   depression,   oppression,   tormenting   thoughts,   certain   types   of   pain (especially   in   relationship   to   the   central  nervous   system),   feelings  of   isolation,  out-of-body experiences, feelings of accusation against others and one’s self, division makers and trouble makers, fear, obsessions,  inability to hear God’s voice, falling asleep in church, falling asleep while reading the Bible,  rebellion,  stubbornness (is  witchcraft),  disobedience to God’s  Word

(chronic  activities),   losing   interest   in  attending  church and  reading  God’s  Word,   inability   to develop a prayer relationship with God.

Occultism always offers itself as the real thing when in fact the real thing is obscured and hidden by the counterfeit.  Satan always wanted to be like the Most-High God and will disguise himself in order to delude mankind. 

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NASB) 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
