Details of Proposals 1. Amend the Constitution by deleting clause 10(c).
Explanation: Clause 10(c) of the Constitution reads: “A member shall make themselves
conversant with the Child Protection Intervention and Notification Policy provisions as set out
by the Yachting Association of New South Wales.”
There is now no such policy, and now no YA of NSW.
The proposal is to simply delete clause 10(c), and rely on the clause 10(b), which is a general
requirement for members to not discredit the club and to not be offensive, as well as clause
31, which permits the Club Committee to adopt policies (or regulations) which are binding on
members. DAC has a Risk Management Policy, which includes child protection issues.
3. Amend the Sailing By-Laws by adding a new paragraph 30:
“30. A Class Captain may adopt an alternative scoring system and/or handicapping
system to the systems described in paragraphs 5, 6, and 7 (first two paragraphs)
of these By-Laws, for their Class for pointscore championships and/or club
championships for a season provided that the Class Captain can satisfy the
Commodore that the alternative system has the support of a majority of sailors
in that Class and is approved by the Commodore before the beginning of a
season. The Class Captain must ensure all members of that class are notified of
the adoption of an alternative scoring system.”
Explanation: Most classes do not currently use the scoring system described in the Sailing
By-Laws. Most use a low points system similar to that described in the racing Rules of Sailing.
The proposal is to permit class captains to adopt an alternate scoring system, which must be
approved by the Commodore prior to the season. The original DAC system is retained in the
Sailing By-Laws and may still be used by a class.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Another season passes into history with its Nor Easters and Southerly's, the windy days and
the not so windy ones and the days with a bit of everything.
All in all I think we got our fair share of the good and the bad, but do I remember a particularly
nasty westerly as well.
Maybe its because I was among a number of sailors who needed rescuing that day, but what
does stick in my mind was seeing all sorts of people, people who were safe and dry on shore,
people jumping into rescue boats to relieve a dripping wet and probably very cold rescue crew
member, others grabbing spare radios and helping co-ordinate the rescue boats from the
balcony to the most in need out on the water.
Whilst I don’t want it to sound like it was a cyclone we were dealing with, what I saw was a calm
and coordinated response to a sudden Westerly that was stronger than predicted and the
genuine concern members had for one another.
That's a club I’m proud to be a member of and especially honoured to be its President. Thank
you to all who helped out that day.
As always, I would like to acknowledge the terrific work the Coaches, their assistants, Greg,
our Commodore, the starters and rescue crews as well as Linda in the canteen for the work
they do each and every week, and Lissa for organising our fun social events.
DAC continues to be a strong training Club, Trevor and his team continue to bring the best out
of the kids, not only the beginners but the slightly more experienced Juniors as well.
Lissa and Richie have a solid record with the learn to windsurf program, with a number of
graduates joining the main racing fleet each week and Robin is turning people onto the fun of
sailing with his adult training program as well, and I feel confident training will continue to
flourish with these terrific leaders in charge.
As many of you will realise, DAC turns 80 this year, we had a big celebration for our 75th year
and rightly so, this year for no good reason at all, it has somehow managed to slip past without
us fully realising.
It's impossible to recall all the names of the countless people who have come and gone at DAC,
but it is possible, I believe, to sum up the spirit of DAC, from day one through to now, and that
is Fellowship, Leadership and Sportsmanship.
DAC has an undeniable feeling of camaraderie and fellowship, on and off the water.

We have shown leadership by being the first to embrace sailing for people with disabilities and
before that, we were one of the first sailing clubs to welcome Windsurfing and we uphold the
ideals of sportsmanship wherever we go.
Whilst we didn’t mark the occasion publicly this year, these are the foundations of the club that
we can celebrate and be proud of everyday, and if we continue to strongly hold onto these
ideals we will be celebrating anniversaries long into the future.
I would like to congratulate all our Club Champions, Point Score and Stewie Long Cup winners
as well as all those who represented DAC at State, National and International Regattas, not
only do we congratulate you on your achievements but we commend you on the sportsperson
like manner in which you conduct yourselves at these events and elsewhere.
The past season has seen the purchase of new motors and rescue boats, after a process of
investigation and discussion we felt it necessary to upgrade our rescue equipment and will
continue to do so as the need arises.
Some of you may have noticed some minor cracking particularly on the western wall cladding,
Michael Stuart has done an audit of the condition of the club and as such some remedial work
will be carried out to the exterior of the club as well as a possible upgrade to the lift.
Looking forward, I believe we are headed in the right direction as a club, with a good mix of
competitiveness and an open and welcoming spirit, hand in hand with our training program,
keeps us in good stead for the future.
Lastly, I would like to thank the committee for all their efforts, and particularly for their wise and
valuable guidance throughout the past season, and thank you to everyone, for allowing me to
be your 2018/19 Club President.
Thank you and good sailing.

COMMODORE’S REPORT
Dear Sailors, It has been another busy year and it has come and gone in a blur; yet so much has happened in such
a short time. We experienced winds from Calm (zero knots) to Gale (40 knots) but everyone managed
to survive and were able to get some sailing in.
During the season some of the club’s focus has had to be on background issues, not always interesting.
Some of the issues were testing at times but crucial to keeping the club functioning and looking to the
future. I have addressed as best I could the risks I knew and which I could do something about.
The DAC committee have a fiduciary duty to our members and while
Work, Health & Safety (WHS) are not the spiciest of topics, it is vital in my
role as Commodore that I have the appropriate focus and attention to
these key areas of ensuring that sailing activities are as safe as possible.
These issues are not always seen by members, but as a club we must
ensure our procedures and policies are safe and sound and we are
protecting and developing the sailing, and financial interests of the club
and the members.
I am mindful that delivering our sailing, learn-to-sail and sailboard
services, and our first-rate race environment requires a dedicated group
of eager, focused and well-trained volunteers. Also, it is important that I
continue to promote the friendliness of the club.
The DAC Youth team, overseen by Simone, is continuing to develop the sailors into leaders of the future.
DAC has been well represented and successful by our Youth Team in many regattas. Our sailors are
supported by parents who are everyday people doing exceptional things. Logistics like getting sailors to
competitions and regattas whether it is interclub, state, national, or world titles, it’s amazing.
Masterminding the organising, equipping, travel, housing (family, people & boats) so that sailors can
take part and compete under the DAC banner. Thanks to all who serve on committees that organise
and / or conduct regattas. Thank you and well done to all sailors & families.
DAC continue to participate in the Australia Day regatta, and this year the day fell on a Saturday which
was very well supported. Lots of theme dressed boats and crews made for a fun day. Followed up by a
traditional Aussie BBQ and medallion presentations. In March, the first place skippers were presented
with their engraved medallions at a special event at the Sydney Town Hall.
DAC had an excellent turnout at regattas where dedication, skills, competitive spirit and confidence in
their resolve has resulted with equally impressive results. Moreover, the number of siblings who are
keen to get involved in sailing is a tribute to the parents and their older siblings passing down their
infectious enthusiasm. Events held at DAC this season include Rotary Classic, Bic Techno Rippers #1,
Raceboard Series #2, Spiral Invitational, Heron TT, Taser TT, Windsurfer Class State Championships,
and RC Laser Nationals.

Our sailors demonstrated their skills, competitive spirit and showed confidence in their resolve; where
it has been plain sailing. They produced outstanding results, highlights will be in the class reports.
Richie Reynolds & Lissa McMillan have continued, along with Christophe, providing quality training and
passing on their knowledge and experience to their learn-to-windsurf students. Suffice to say that Richie
and Lissa are world-class; well done. Congratulations to all sailboarders and their supporters who have
attended club and other regattas. An “Introduction to Sailing” course was piloted by Robin Pidd and has
resulted in some of his students purchasing a boat and taking up DAC membership. Well done Robin.
Sailing at DAC continues because of our volunteers. The simple acknowledgments they receive at the
Awards night really isn’t enough; again I would like to say thank you. They collectively put in thousands
of hours of work each year; if not for them sailing at DAC would grind to a halt. I value the dedication of
our coaches and would like to say thanks to Trevor, Lyndal, Richie, Lissa, Robin and our other dedicated
instructors. They are instilling lifelong skills into our sailors and make sailing enjoyable and fun.
This year’s “DAC Annual Appreciation Award” went to Manuel Ferreira. Choosing from many nominees
for recognition is always difficult. Manny has given many hours, days, and weeks to the club and when
he is not sailing he is working in a Rescue boat. Thanks Manny for mentoring members and assisting
where you can. This year I again recognise a number of key contributors to the successful running of
DAC with a Valued Service token key chain in appreciation and as reminder of the work they have done
and the work, I hope, they will continue to perform. So, here's to DAC's volunteers, whose dedication
and belief in all our sailors compels them to continue committing their time & effort. So everyone please
remember to say “Thanks” at every opportunity.
To the Class Captains thank you for your help and support over the season and for organising the
catering & cleaning-up of the club championship BBQs. To our Starters Glenny and Rob, thank you for
turning up each week and for your efforts that make our day efficient. Great work as usual from our
Rescue Support Trevor and Rocco and to all the other volunteer skippers & crews.
The social occasions this year continued their successful growth, getting bigger and more lavish. Thanks
to Lissa and Richie and assistants for planning the major functions; Christmas, & Awards Night parties.
These are great occasions for getting together as a club.
To Linda, our canteen manager; thank you for all your efforts each week and thank you for coming back
each year, all your hard work and your welcoming smile.
Without the support of the sailing members we would never be able to continue doing what we do. I look
forward to seeing you on the water, have fun, stay safe and bring on the Nor’easters.
Fair Winds!

OPEN CLASS REPORT
The open fleet in 2018/2019 consisted of three fleets within a fleet, we had the traditional open class
consisting of a mixed variety of boats from RS Aero, NS14, MG14 and an occasional 29er, then came
the Heron and Hansa fleets sailing races within races.
Starting line was always fun with around six to eight boats starting consistently throughout the season,
but then sailing three different courses. We did manage to at least get one race where we combined
open and heron fleets for the Australia Day cup and that based on yardstick was won by Adios (myself
and Jessica) whom represented the club at the Town Hall presentation.
Race results ended the season with Adios winning the club championship and coming a close second
on overall pointscore to David Adams sailing his RS Areo (result coming down to the last race) so
congratulations to David on a consistent year. Hats off to Rob sailing the NS14 coming out and enjoying
the sailing and improving every race.
During the season DAC also hosted the Heron Travellers Trophy on the 27th Oct, with 19 entries with
boats from country NSW and a high level competition including the current state and national
competitors entered the race, DAC had two local boats sailing finishing 4th and 9th as a result of some
of the top visiting sailors not sailing the proper course. Post-race it was revealed that Green machine
was first on handicap.
In the Hansa class, DAC and NSW were well represented at the 2019 Combined Australian National
Championships in April at Koombana Bay Sailing Club, Bunbury WA. Sailing in the Hansa 303 Double,
Sarah & John in Olympic Spirit were the best placed NSW team finishing 4th overall narrowly missing
out of third spot by just 2 points and Nathaniel and Margie placed 6 th. This follows up a successful State
titles with Sarah coming 1st overall and Nathaniel 4th on countback, very impressive and well sailed.

Was a great effort by the teams and by all accounts they had a great time at WA. Many thanks to John
and Margie for their efforts in supporting Sarah and Nathaniel with a huge effort to trailer the boats from
Sydney to WA and back again.
Lastly I wanted to thank our President (Greg M), Commodore (Greg S), all the committee and all
supporters and volunteers for all their efforts throughout the season, by all accounts it was a wonderful
year and we look forward to next season.

TASAR CLASS REPORT
We had 8 boats regularly competing in the 2018-19 season,
similar numbers to the previous year.
Our Club Championship was again won by One Rose, skippered
by Sam Rose and crewed by David Evans, winning 4 of the 6
races. The Mats came second in Banjo with FunkStuff third.
Banjo also won the Pointscore and the Stewart Long Cup.
Congratulations to Slice of Life who was regularly placing well
and took the Short Series Handicap.
The C J Rose Trophy was a closely fought battle with 3 boats on 4 points. Slice of Life ended up with
the silverware after review of the Rule books and discussion with the Commodore.
It was disappointing not to have Mad Man, Snoogle, Bocks Car and Prime Suspect racing with us
(hopefully we see them next season), however we did welcome Usain Boat (Matt & Lucas Peat) and
Slice of Life (James Stevens & Lise Melor). Both new boats were very competitive and seemed to inspire
the rest of the fleet. Racing by the end of the season was much tighter.
TT5 – 30th March
DAC Hosted the 5th Tasar Travellers Trophy on 30th March. 5 DAC and 5 travellers were confronted by
very difficult conditions – 36 knots was observed at the club. Sam jumped ship to sail with Rob Douglas
in Coolit. The visitors were extremely competitive, showing great heavy weather sailing abilities and by
the end of lap 2, 3 of the visitors were well ahead. DAC Dave was chuffed to be beating Rob and Sam
however that didn’t last long and with rising winds all DAC sailors retired except Slice of Life who
valiantly battled on to the finish. Despite the damage, the outcome was very positive and everyone was
keen to repeat the race next season and we encourage all to get more involved with Tasar Association
activities.

LASER FULL RIG CLASS REPORT
The full rig lasers fleet held steady at 5
boats this season with close racing giving
our starters some headaches judging
some photo finishes. Greg Muirhead
sailed consistently in “No Idea” an older
boat proving that you don’t need new-
fangled turbo pack boom vangs to be
competitive. David Shannon also landed
at DAC in the “moon unit” yes there is a
little more mud in Iron Cove than Double
Bay but more fun?
The club championship this year started with last year’s champion taking the first two heats in close
racing, a great start to re-gaining the trophy. Dave Shannon came to the rescue in the third race with
his first win and giving some hope that the clock maybe running down on the dominance of “filling in
time”. Heat 4 went to Steve as well building his tally, Bruce refused to lie down and Steve slipped to 3rd
place in heat 5. Steve put the championship beyond doubt with a win in the last heat securing the trophy
for another year.
Most fastest times came down to the last race with Geoff and Steve on 6 wins a piece, the shoot-out
came around a north east course with the occasional hole in the breeze. Geoff led around all of the
marks and managed to find an Adani size hole on the last leg and see Steve sail past to victory (more
contributions to the swear jar).
In the point score all skippers had wins by the end of the season the maximum handicap was only 5
minutes. Geoff scored points early in spring before most others entered the water, he took the spring
point score by 150 points. The summer session was much tighter with Greg scoring well and chalking
up three wins. Steve won the summer section by 20 points to Geoff with Greg only 10 points back in
third. Overall Geoff took home the point score trophy again this year.
The wildest race was held on the 30th March in a building westerly the full rig fleet was only two at the
start and only one competed a 2nd lap. Speed records were broken on the 2nd run down to the bridge,
not so much sailing as just hanging on. Wise old full rig heads retired to shore to watch the spectacle of
a 4.7 and a radial actually complete the race, well done youngans!

LASER RADIAL / 4.7 REPORT
The Radial fleet, although reduced in size from earlier years, battled our changing weather conditions well, and provided some very exciting racing. The traditional weather patterns of early fierce nor’-easters fading into southerlies with the occasional buster, seem to have been replaced by a wide variation in wind direction and strength, growing increasingly difficult to predict. There were some massive days, particularly the last Saturday in March, with only two Radials managing to finish, and some days in which the wind just mysteriously vanished! The Spring season handicap began well, with most skippers gaining at least one win – Andrew, Jenny, Michael D, Oscar, Matt and Michael S, although the irresistible machine that is Neil’s campaign was clearly beginning to roll. There was also a cameo appearance by Geoff Wilson, who proved that he does not need a large sail to win. Summer saw the return of Thomas, and more of Bronwyn, which made everything much more intense. Winners added to the list above were Thomas, Michael C, Matt and Rick. This means all of the regulars had at least one win, a strong result showing keen competition and a good spread of ability. The Season Point Score was won by Neill Griffith, with Mike Daly second and Mike Stuart third. The Championship series was very interesting. Michael Daly and Andrew Belford were tied with two wins each, until the re-entry of Thomas. His two wins of the final two heats meant that the Championship became a scramble for the minor placings. Andrew just managed to keep ahead of Michael D, with a 20 point lead, then a large gap to Michael S, who was nervously looking over his shoulder at a rapidly approaching Thomas, who was in fourth place. Neil came fifth, then Oscar and Bronwyn, both of these two hampered by missing some heats, but with very creditable (and alarming) speed when they were there. Fastest Times reflect the above results, with Thomas at 6, Mike D at 5, and Andrew at 4. In summary, it was an exciting season with some excellent racing! Finally, a huge thank-you to the starters for their consistent enthusiasm and hard work, and to the rescuers, without whom some of us may well still be stuck in the mud ……

RACEBOARD CLASS REPORT
Once again The Raceboards have had a great season with a large and consistent fleet of 10-15
Sailboarders every Saturday and 16-20 each Wednesday during our Twilight series, including a number
of sailors, who, joined our ranks for the first time from the learn to Windsurf classes.
It's great to see the transition of these sailors from absolute beginners to, towards the end of the season,
having the skills and confidence to get on the start line and get round the course. I would like to thank
Lissa and Richie as well as Jack and Christophe for their training and coaching throughout the year, the
skill and enthusiasm they bring to the training is greatly appreciated, and not only by the students either.

Whilst we all know DAC turns 80 this year, we also have a significant mile stone in The Windsurfer/
Sailboard Class, Wednesday Twilight Series has been sailing Continuously at DAC for over 33 years,
and to the best of anyone’s knowledge, is the longest continuously running Windsurfing regatta
anywhere in Australia and possibly in the world.
In its heyday back in the 80’s up to 100 boards would gather every Wednesday during the Daylight
Savings period and race, whilst we are down this season to more manageable numbers of 20 or so it's
still a fun way to spend an evening in Summer, and a great legacy to be a part of.

Congratulations to all the winners and commiserations to those that didn’t make it onto the podium this
season, often the difference between the leader and the rest is only a point or two, such is the level of
competition and the mixture of names in the results shows that no one dominated the season and the
leaders positions were all up for grabs.
Finally I would like to thank all the volunteers, the starters, the rescue crews, Linda in the canteen as
well as all my fellow Raceboarders, thanks for a great season and I look forward to next year.
Happy Sailing.

LEARN-TO-SAIL
We have had a great time coaching everyone this season. We started out with great weather with
everyone learning lots of new skills before the Christmas break. This year we had a much larger class
than previously with more of the new Opti’s available which meant that our junior sailors could practice
their single handed sailing skills from early on in the season. I think the highlight for most of the group
was sailing around Rodd Island at the end of the season. We look forward to seeing most of the class
attending again next season.
A big thank you to all of the parents who helped with rigging and launching the boats throughout the
year, we hope you enjoyed your time with us as well!

ADULT LEARN-TO-SAIL
For the training two Herons were used, Green machine and our now club Heron boat
Rotary 5 Dock which was generously sponsored by Five Dock Rotary.
The learn to sail training was the Yachting Australian “Discover Sailing” program. The Start Sailing 1
training was conducted in November and December with six adults and one 12 boy. This program is the
entry level for those who have not experienced sailing in dinghies. There was a lot of enthusiasm in the
group and by the end of the course they had all experienced rigging the boats onshore, crewing and
steering while doing the on -water training.
We finished off the training with
a fun day of three short Heron
paddle races. (Not in the YA
program!) I must say there was
a lot of healthy competition
which I believe you need to be a
sailor. The race has now been
named the Golden Duck Award.
The Start Sailing 2 was
conducted in February and
March with four adult trainees.
This course follows on from Sailing 1 with the trainees now learning to steer and skipper the boats in all
points of sailing. Unfortunately there were two days when we had to cancel due to strong winds. This
was our first time in running Sailing 2 so in reviewing the course it needs to be run over a longer period
to develop the skills. I believe four trainees is about the right number based on only having two training
boats and instructors.
Two give added experience I rotated the four trainees as crew in my Heron for the afternoon race.
I wish to thank Clare and Andrew Wong, Mat Rafferty for their assistance in running the first course.
Also a big thank you to Garry Morrison for being the other instructor for the second course and
particularly his experience with Heron sailing. Yes he still can right a Heron after a capsize!
Finally I wish to thank Trevor Larance who is our club’s Principle Training Officer for his support in
running the adult training

LEARN-TO-WINDSURF
Over the past season we conducted four Learn to Windsurf courses. The 8 session Saturday mornings
courses have been held previously and we trialled Wednesday afternoon classes for those with more
flexible work arrangements. We had 23 participants on the Saturday courses and 8 on the Wednesday
ones. The age range of our students is from high school upwards. In the past couple of seasons we
have had good participation from people between 20 and 40.
Retaining people after the course is tricky as although they know the basics of how to windsurf the whole
process of the next step is hard. Understanding what equipment is good to continue with, where to buy
it and how to get bits that fit together to make a useful set is difficult. We have tried to make this transition
easier by starting a hire arrangement where for half a season trainees can arrange to hire the training
gear on Saturday afternoons and Wednesday evenings to allow them to get more skill and familiarity
with equipment before having to buy. We have added a couple of bigger rigs to the range of equipment
that we have to assist with broadening their skills.
Next season Saturday mornings will be on again but maybe we will only run one Wednesday course in
the next season if there is demand. Many thanks to Richie, Lissa and Christophe for making this happen
and providing a feed of new members into the Sailboard class.

TRANSITION CLASS
It has been a great year for the class by any measure
everybody in the class had a great time. The winds at times
were testing with a few days 15 plus knots but everyone
finished the course most days. One or two days with a
testing winds, some capsized but the one thing that shined
through all this drama was the maturity of the sailors
everyone relied on their training and no one lost their
confidence. We even had one day late in the season with
no wind at all and everyone was towed back to the club but
hay that is sailing.
Listed below is the class which I am extremely proud to be their mentor and coach this is a group of very
talented sailors.
Everyone had their good and bad days but there is one sailor who stood out for two things very focused
personality and winning a lot of the races that is Hailie Scarr.
Most persistent sailor is a draw between Harper Taplin and Elizabeth Allan.
Quite a few had such a good year that they have brought boats for next year.
Thanks to the mums and dads for all their support through the year without your help on the Rescue
boats and putting away all the training boats my day would not be so enjoyable I had a great time and
hope you did too.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE REPORT
There was a lot of social activity at DAC this season.
There were two large events which required member payment for entry.
Christmas Party 08 December 2018 132 guests 87/45 $26/$16
Awards Night 04 May 2019 116 guests 87/29 $30/$10
We aim for events to break even. The Christmas Party made a profit of $1140, and Presentation Night
was $16 in the black.

There were also 7 other club and volunteer sponsored events throughout the season:
Start of Season BBQ - Sailboards
#1 Club Championships - Tasar/Open/Heron
#2 Club Championships – Lasers
#3 Club Championships coincided with Christmas Party
Australia Day Regatta - 26 January 2019
#4 Club Championships - Tasar/Open/Heron
#5 Club Championships - Lasers
#6 Club Championships – Sailboards
All events were well-received. It’s good to have different classes take responsibility, and increase the
opportunity for members of different classes to intermingle.
May the fourth had a Star Wars theme, with a quiz and a raffle intermingled with the formalities, which
helped make the night fun.
Many thanks to all volunteers who provided additional catering, staffed the bar, and helped set up and
pack up. I think the level of volunteer support, and the willingness of everyone to help pack up without
event being asked is a measure of the true spirit of DAC.
We were again able to supplement events with homemade catering, whilst keeping prices at an
affordable level for members. We were also able to cater for the wide range of dietary requirements at
the club.
We used TryBooking again this year for both the Christmas Party and Presso, but with the introduction
of Revolutionise, I would recommend trying this format next season to reduce the fees associated with
TryBooking, which were $69.10 for the Christmas Party and $48 for the Presentation night.

RC LASER
2018-2019 has been an interesting year for the RC Laser group at DAC. We have contested one State
Championship in the Class, and two National Championships, with excellent results in each of the
contests.
First up, we ran the 2018 RC Laser State Championships at DAC on 19 August 2018 under what could
only be described as the most extreme of conditions; with a cold and howling westerly wind dictating
that the day was to be lively to say the least. Paul Derwent sailed an excellent set of races for the
conditions and took out the Title from Graham Brown and Noel McPherson. Anyone who was still sailing
at the end of the day deserved a medal.
The 2018 National RC Laser Championships were held at Mawson Lakes in South Australia; and a
small contingent from DAC competed with personal best results in very much milder conditions. After
3 days of competition, Graham Brown sailed into second place, Noel McPherson into ninth and Cliff
Bromiley into 16th place.
We at DAC hosted the 2019 National RC Laser Championships on 25-28 April 2019. This was a break
from the more usual dates sailed later in the winter season – we were planning for more nor’easters to
occur than that which happened; but the competition held over three days was hard fought particularly
for the minor placings. The current Champion of Nations and National Champion Scott Fleming added
another notch to his gun, with Graham Brown, Noel McPherson and Peter Close finishing 3 rd, 7th and
8th. DAC sailors were well spread through the results in a well-received competition. We are looking
forward to next year’s Titles to be held on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

We are maintaining an active and competitive group of sailors, with more focus now on the Thursday
group. We constantly have 10-15 sailing on the day. We still struggle with the numbers on Sundays,
but they are no less enthusiastic. Through the year, we have lost a few sailors, but then we have new
sailors coming into the group to take their place. We continue to sail on alternate Sundays starting at
12.30 p.m.; and every Thursday afternoon starting at 12.30 p.m. as well.
We wish to thank all those in the Club who have supported and assisted us during the year, and to thank
our many RC Laser sailors who contribute to the great sailing we enjoy whenever we are on the water.
We wish to thank Dobroyd Aquatic Club for its ongoing support and assistance.
