DO NOWImagine you are a tv talk show host. Your show is about philosophy and the Stanford Prison experiment. Work with a partner to list five philosophical questions you might ask. (4 minutes)
TodayWe are working to prepare for the Oprah Winfrey show, which we will “play” during our next class.
Roles: Philosophy expert Former prisoner Former guard Author Audience member
DO NOWWrite your questions from the DO NOW on the board.
DO NOWWith a partner, chose three of the questions on the board and write an answer as if you were an expert on a talk show. Use philosophical language. Support your answers. (9 minutes.)
DO NOWSPEED ROUNDWrite down as many questions as you can think of that an audience might ask Philip Zimbardo about his Stanford Prison Experiment. (90 seconds) Winner gets a prize.
DO NOWWith two partners, chose one of the questions you answered in the last DO NOW to write a dialogue about.
You can be a talk show host, a guest, a prisoner, a guard, etc… Have each person speak at least three times. Use philosophical language.
We will perform these when you are done writing them. (10 minutes)
DO NOWCount off by threes. Mrs. Robin will bring each group their task. You will have eight minutes to complete your task.
