DMI Fulfillment provides distribution, ful-fillment and warehousing facilities across the country that allow companies like PresenceLearning the ability to store, pick, pack and ship products to their cus-tomers without mistakes providing much confidence in inventory integrity, man-aging returns and personalized packing slips and labels. Seasoned professional account representatives are assigned to each account to assist in all operational and distribution needs.
the CHALLENGE
With traditional therapy, speech and occupational therapists travel
to various towns and schools to provide services to students.
PresenceLearning’s online solution enables licensed therapists
to serve students anywhere in the country using a live, online,
individual communication platform.
The company has experienced
rapid growth, more than doubling
the number of students served
a year ago. The challenge for
PresenceLearning is ensuring that
clinicians and students receive the
equipment for online therapy in a timely manner. In order to meet
the growing demand for online therapy, headsets, cameras and
microphones must be distributed to new clinicians and schools
right away. Aaron Skiles, Vice President of PresenceLearning said,
“It is important that our clients have a seamless integration and are
able to begin serving students immediately.”
PresenceLearning’s previous distributor/fulfillment house was
not able to provide adequate warehousing, and shipping would
routinely take up to 10 days. They were not able to meet Presence
Learning’s growing needs. About a year ago, the team at Presence
Learning realized that they needed to find a new logistics solution.
Enter DMI Fulfillment and Bob Klunk. Aaron was
quickly educated on how DMI works. “With DMI
Fulfillment, we weren’t a small fish in a big pond.
The product and sensitive timeline footprint of the
business was and is essential to our success as a
company and DMI understood this. Bob Klunk took
the time to figure out our business model and how
to become an extension of our business. DMI is a
true partner to the success of our company.”
How did they do it?
The PresenceLearning team visited the DMI facility
in Fresno and forged the partnership onsite at the
distribution center, brainstorming better service
models for their customers. “It was clear that DMI
Fulfillment was going to be able to help us meet our
commitment to properly serve our clients,” said Mr.
Skiles.
Growing quickly –
finding partners that grow with them.
“Things in this business are constantly changing. In
the beginning, the vision was there but we were still
a small company.” Skiles said it occurred to him while
he was visiting DMI that there was something in the
DNA that was similar to PresenceLearning. “They
were always looking to improve and they were really
honest. They were easy to work with. It was apparent
that DMI puts their clients first” said Aaron Skiles.

the SOLUTION
PresenceLearning has significantly improved ship
and delivery times from a 10-day turnaround to a
2-day turnaround. This has led to a 33% increase in
productivity for the company. The busiest time of the
year for PresenceLearning is late summer through
the beginning of the
school year. The second
busiest time is January and
February, the beginning
of second semester.
Shipments during even
busiest times now get to 99% of the territory within
a 2-day timeframe. Based on PresenceLearning’s
distribution of clients, (24 states across the country) it
made sense to use DMI’s St. Louis and Fresno facilities
to provide the coverage and service needed.
PresenceLearning prides itself on being a partner
that their customers trust; and they expect that same
level of service from their vendors. Their previous
logistics provider would
go weeks before returning
phone calls and emails.
Now they have a phone
number and a live person –
Heather Benjamin – to work
with. “Some weeks we have 1-2 orders, and some
weeks we have hundreds. The beauty of it is that the
process and experience remains the same. Heather
is truly an extension of our team,” said Aaron Skiles.
