Sailing for scholarships 2019! Dear friends, We are very excited to invite you to our traditional scholarship fundraiser, sailing for UWC Mostar scholarships. It will be the 7th annual trip to remember, learn how to sail, enjoy the Mediterranean, meet Rotarians and friends from around the world, enjoy amazing Greek isles, and do all that knowing you are helping us change someone’s life, as we enable her/him to attend UWC Mostar with our scholarship. When: September 7-14, 2019. Where: Lefkada, Meganisi, Ithaki, Kefalonia, .. [western Greece, Ionian Sea] Yachts: Through a list of selected yacht charter companies who are giving us flotilla discounts, there are several yacht types / categories from which you can choose:

- A type sailing yachts or catamarans which are new: 600 – 1000 EUR per person (for boat and skipper).

- B type sailing yachts cca 10 years old: 400 – 550 EUR per person (for boat and skipper) - C type sailing yachts cca 15 years old: 250 – 350 EUR per person (for boat and skipper)

You are of course also welcome to join the flotilla with your own boat or rent a boat through your own booking agency. Aside from the berth expense on the yacht of your choice, keep in mind that there are additional costs: 40€ per person Rotary donation for scholarship, approx. 200 € crew groceries (food & beverages), diesel and cleaning fees for your boat, etc. Important: every participant needs to bring an item from their home country for the highlight event of the flotilla, “An international auction” where all items are sold in the most entertaining way. All the collected funds (together with 40 € per person donation) goes to UWC Mostar scholarships . In 2018 we raised 1

1 UWC Mostar is an international school, part of the UWC system (United World Colleges) which has 17 colleges around the world. First of the UWC colleges was founded in 1962 with the mission to bring 100 talented students from 100 countries, at the age 16-18, and have them live together and study for 2 years, after which they would go to universities and one day become global leaders with a perspective that we, as people, are all the same and that we have to create a better and sustainable future through our actions. From the first generation of UWC alumni, UWC has educated and created over 60.000 world leaders. Some are now heads of states, entrepreneurs, nobel prize winners, etc. RCBS is strategically supporting and enabling talents from Serbia who are selected in a transparent and world-class selection process to study at UWC Mostar. We are disclosing all information about the candidate and amount when the selection process is done, in May of the following year, in order to avoid potential transparency, conflict of interest, and other challenges. The boat offers available on the pages below are locked for us until 31.1.2019. After that, the charter agencies may increase the prices or book boats to others. So, please, do contact us ASAP, if you are interested in joining, as this is very time and money sensitive. We will expect your applications latest End February. You just send your email to Djordje Hinic at hinicdjole@gmail.com defining your booking: • Number of beds (you will join to other international crew) or • The boat type you would like to book entirely for your crew with remark if you will have your own skipper or we hire you a skipper, too or • The number of persons in your crew, who will join us with your own boat If you are booking the boat directly, we will put you in touch with the charter agency who will provide you with the invoice details within a week. They will ask you to make the advance payment of 40% within 2 weeks of booking and the rest 30 days before the trip. If you are booking the berths only, we will be in touch with you directly to understand your crew and boat preferences and make sure we make the best possible crew fit for you, and also handle the individual down-payments through our Rotary Club. All adults will be asked by the RCBS registration team to make the 40€ donation in cash when they arrive to Lefkada.
