Coeds Still Struggle For Rooms
By CAROLYN BBIMBEBRY With dissatisfaction, petitions,
and heated opinions breaking out over East Campus this week, coeds are struggling to find a new solution to the age old problem of rooming.
Last year's plan, which went inlo effect two weeks ago, has apparently turned out not tc " the answer. When signing started for rising sophomores and juniors, petitions were rushed from one dorm to the next with a slim hope of making some changes in the tlrastic new plan. Harried pajama-clad coeds dashed around frantically trying to get other dissatisfied girls to sign their petitions.
Tuesday night, when the : in Brown House boomed the message that the House closed to further signing up, the eampus came alive with befuddled sophomores and freshmen demanding an answer to problem. The only answer Aycock, and that is where majority of the unfortunate girls
e to be found next year. Biggest gripe of the coe e fact that they were not
i the I rooming
rffeet this year. Rising juniors lid su<sceed in getting preference over rising sophomores in irawing and signing for rooms. This threw the burden of fuss sn the shoulders of next year's sophomores, who were left to hold up the walls of Aycock.
With the unsatisfactory way the rooming situation turned out this year, all East Campus is left with is a hope for a more agree-
eds trudge down to East Duke to sign up for a place more ducive to study . . . and gripe
