ish. Volunteer to help at the Parish Picnic and Vacation Bible School. Be an aide in our religious education program. Join the
choir and our Youth Group. Go to church every Sunday. Stay involved! Congratulations on being Confirmed, now use it.

May 10th there will be a May Crowning after the 11:00 AM Mass. Refreshments will be served after the event. Please pray

From the Desk of Father Pauselli I welcome Bishop James C. Timlin to our Parish today, April 12, to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation with sixty six of
our young people. This is a big day in their young lives and I congratulate them and their families on this most special occa-
sion. Thanks to Brittain Banull and all our catechists who worked with our young people to bring them to this day. May the
Lord bless you abundantly!
Thanks to all who made Lent 2015 and Holy Week so special. This is a vey busy time of the year but also a very sacred time
as we remember the Lord’s sacrifice for us all. On behalf of our parish community I am grateful to all who offered their time
and talents to enhance our celebrations in any way. May the Lord bless and reward you abundantly!
The prayer services associated with Divine Mercy Sunday are taking place at a few of the parishes in our area, namely, St.
Ann’s Basilica and St. Lucy’s in Scranton and St. Maria Goretti in Laflin. If interested, please contact these parishes for spe-
cifics about their Divine Mercy celebrations.
I also want to thank all those who remembered me at Easter with cards, monetary gifts, food and prayer remembrances. They
are greatly appreciated. Please be assured of my prayers. The 6:00PM evening prayer will resume next Sunday, April 19. Dur-
ing the evening prayer we remember in a special way all of the sick and the faithful departed. All are invited to attend and
make this prayer a part of your regular weekly routine. Have a great week!
WORSHIP IS THE TANGIBLE EXPRESSION OF OUR LORD’S LOVE FOR US AND OUR RESPONSE TO HIM IN A CONCRETE AND LOVING EXPRESSION OF FAITH.

Selecting New Parish Council Members The first and most important step in the pastoral planning process is
selecting leaders from among our faith community to be the pastoral
planners or the stewards of planning who will serve the parish in
this unique ministry of leadership. Council members serve as a wis-
dom group in a consultative capacity to the pastor. They commit to
being Servant Leaders and accept a shared responsibility to enrich
parish life and bring to fruition God’s plan for the parish.
The Parish Pastoral Council is made up of persons who are not rep-
resentative leaders of designated committees or ministries within the
parish, but who are representatives of the wider parish community.
They are encouraged to focus their attention on the needs of all
members and not a singular group.
This ministry of leadership is a call by the community done in open-
ness and trust to assist the parish in assessing its current life and to
vision the future life of the parish community. When wearing the
“hat” of a council member, you accept the role of a “visionary plan-
ner” looking to the horizon for the future of our parish community.
The commitment will involve one monthly meeting.
Volunteers Needed! Volunteers are needed for the half marathon on Sunday, April 12th. The Minooka Lions are sponsoring a water station at
the Southside Shopping Center and need help. Please call Mari 570-604-3605 to sign up. Perfect for high school students
who need community service hours!
Minooka Lions Fundraiser On Saturday, April 25th, the Minooka Lions Autism Awareness Foundation will hold its 10th annual Autism Awareness
Night from 6-11PM at the Divine Mercy Parish Center. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door or by calling
570-346-2152. All proceeds will go to local autism programs such as the Friendship House Autism Program, Allied Ser-
vices Pediatrics/Autism, Parents Loving Children through Autism, and the Minooka Lions Autism Awareness Founda-
tion. If you are interested in providing a theme basket for the raffle, please contact Michelle Dorunda at 570-342-3583.
If your business or family can provide a service or item for the silent auction, please contact Mari Walsh at 570-604-
3605 or e-mail [email protected].

From the Desk of Bill Drazdowski:
Carpooling to and from Church on the weekends: A new program we are initiating at Divine Mercy is to promote carpooling among our Parish-
ioners to get people, who otherwise would not be able to attend our church because of lack of
transportation, to and from our facility on weekends and for special masses. The Service Coor-
dinating team and I will be in charge of this endeavor and hope it can be an ongoing service to
our Parishioners for years to come. Please contact me at the Parish Office if you are in need of
transportation on a regular basis or if you are willing to transport Parishioners to and from our
services. It is our goal to identify reliable Parishioners in each section of our community to
pick up one or two others who are without transportation. We understand that many people
have special needs that make it difficult for them to be transported without the assistance of
trained professionals, and we will do our best to find ways to find safe accommodations for
you as well.
The Greatest Gift Do you have a family member or neighbor who cannot leave their home to attend Mass
and receive the Blessed Sacrament? Our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are
here to serve your loved ones by bringing them the gift of Christ Himself, the greatest gift
that can be given. If you know of someone we should be serving, please contact Vince
Klingler at 570-205-5716 or [email protected] for arrangements.
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY Men and women who have available time in the morning are invited to participate in Serv-
ing Families and Friends who are grieving. Duties of the greeters are to offer a warm wel-
come to guests and provide the program which will help them take part in the Funeral
Mass. Volunteers may stay for the Mass or leave after the family and friends have been
seated. Members of the Hospitality Committee might be called to help once or twice a
month. Please call Rose Marie Kloss at 570-562-0871 for more information.
Cemetery update: Believe it or not Spring has actually arrived, and with it I want to update everyone on several things with our cemeteries. For
those families that have had interments throughout the fall and winter, we will be leveling these graves and replanting grass
over the course of April as the weather permits. Our goal is to always have our grounds in their very best condition no later
than Memorial Day. In order to help us with this process this year, we kindly ask you not to overflow our garbage cans with
unneeded waste such as excess dirt from old flowers or personal debris. Also, this year on May 10th we will have a special
envelope in your collection packet specifically for cemetery maintenance. Please give to this cause as it allows us to maintain
our equipment and do beautification projects to our grounds each summer. Thank you for your continued support.
