Dear Friends in Christ, Jesus made it clear that when we become disciples, our lives are not our own. There are costs, and we weigh those costs. Through the process of prayer and discernment, we decide if we are going to follow the Lord or not. Our Lord was simply honest in telling us to pick up our cross and follow Him. In the Christian Community, praying for the right time has always been part of the formula for an individual’s call to discipleship, or for the Church to embrace a new ministry. Through these past months we have prayed and discerned about ministries to help the Parish. I am grateful for the people who embraced certain time-consuming ministries for the good of the Parish. We continue to pray for a committed Church to further increase discipleship for the Lord and to continue the Church’s mission in the years ahead. This weekend, through the proclamation of Pope Francis and the Universal Church, Mother Teresa of Kolkotta (Calcutta) will formally be declared a saint. What a fine example she is for us on our road to discipleship. Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Fr. Matt

discipleship of St. Vincent. Thank you for your continued generosity.
