Dividing Fractions Task Cards

6.NS.1

Directions There are a lot of different ways to use task cards.

Here is one way I have found to work well. 1.  Give each student a problem. (Hint: As you pass the problems out you can

give the more complicated problems to higher students and easier problems to lower students without them noticing). They will be in charge of this problem throughout the entire activity.

2.  Each student should work out their problem in the corresponding box on the recording page.

3.  Go around, check and initial each students paper for that problem. 4.  Students will do the following steps to complete the rest:

1.  Stand Up, Hand Up, Pair Up with another student in the class. 2.  Solve each others problems. 3.  They will then check each others answers, coach if incorrect, and

initial that problem on their partner’s paper. They keep their original card.

4.  Stand Up, Hand Up, Pair Up with another student and repeat. Students will need to partner up with each person to complete the assignment. At the end, every student should have every problem solved correctly J
