The Company, the Dream

All good projects are based on test-conducting, experience, technical know-how. However, breakthrough projects that exceed the test of time and keep advancing by setting ever-growing standards of excellence need passion, dedication to work and above all, a good dose of far-sightedness.

These are the ingredients that in 1993 gave life to a dream, turning it into a first-class reality on a national and internatio-nal level: this was the beginning of DiveSystem, founded by Paolo Zazzeri and Gioia Ancillotti.

The StructureDiveSystem Company, surrounded by green and silence and just a few kilometers from the sea, is uni-que in its field. It directly oversees project development, production and marketing of all its products, in order to guarantee the highest level of control throughout the different stages.

For this reason, it has resolved to gather all production departments, showroom, warehouse, research areas and training classroom in one single Center of 2.500 m2, to facilitate the continuous and indispen-sable interaction between innovation and tradition.

Consequently, instructors, engineers, university researchers and tailors are constantly in contact with each other in an atmosphere that is taken care of down to the finest detail, and work together on a com-mon project: to ensure the highest standards of quality.

The Pool and the TrainingAll Dive System products do not only undergo thorough testing, but are also subject to meticulous trials, aimed at certifying the highest and most rigorous quality standards.

The Company features the deepest pool in Italy: it is 10 meters and a half deep, and the presence of terraced steps allows trials to be carried out at a pressure that is double the atmospheric one.

Showing incredible foresight by considering training as an indispensable moment in the career of sportspeople, DiveSystem has destined classro-oms within the Company structure to academic activities, while another space entirely built in wood is intended as storeroom for materials used during the practice drills.

The pool is very near the classrooms and the material storeroom so as to optimize time management during ‘full immersion’ training sessions.

Military - Special Forces

DiveSystem is more than ten-year official diving equipment supplier for the major Italian military and elite corps.

DiveSystem’s products have been NATO certified (NCAGEAF 435) this enables the Company to sup-ply its products to the Armed Forces of all countries within the Atlantic Alliance.

Products developed in collaboration and li-stening to the demands of experienced and professional people, more extreme and de-manding conditions that require continuous improvement targets, where both equipment and operators are subjected to extreme con-ditions, in which is not allowed even the mini-mum weakness by either side.

The continuing development improve further and further the limit of our equipment, resul-ting in an increasing safety level for the diver, both military and civilian.

Every DiveSystem’s dry suit is constructed as a tailor-made product:

sewing patterns are created and for each one, contours and lines

are subsequently traced on neoprene. After, it is cut by hand with

scissors, piece by piece, with the same care used when working on

a unique and valuable product, not only for its technical features,

but also for its perfect suitability, its overall beauty, its attention to

detail, such as the adhesives, seams and components, a tailoring

knowledge that can only come from experience.

Quality, styleand tailoring tradition.Proudly handmade in Italy, in DiveSystem.

flying bubbles electronic division

medical lab

In answer to increasing requests of the military and the civilian market, in 2007 DiveSystem decided to establish the DiveSystem Electronic Lab, a in-house laboratory exclusively dedicated to research and deve-lopment.

To produce his computers DiveSystem decided to create an in-house production department beside the R&D (Research and development), by creating an unique department: the DiveSystem Electronic Division.

DiveSystem Electronic Division constantly collaborates with the most important national and international institutes for the continuous im-provement of research in hyperbaric medicine.

“Flying Bubbles” is the name given to the project, first and unique in the world of its kind, promoted by DAN (Divers Alert Network) Europe with the aim to establish the time that should be waited between the last dive and the fly (called “no-fly” time”)

The aim is to monitor the pressure of gas bubbles in drivers during the return flight after immer-sion. For this purpose some DAN Europe researchers will be on board of Neos flights to perform echo graphics tests on those people who will show interest accordingly.

Some iDive computers were customized by DiveSystem Electronic Division in order to measure and log with high accuracy the in-flight cabin pressure. The new iDive, Orca 2 and Furyo 2 diving computers and their interfaces are used in many DAN research projects, including Flying Bubbles project.

All DiveSystem diving computers implement latest guide lines on no-fly time dictated by DAN Re-search.

The iDive, Orca 2 and Furyo 2 with special edition’s chassis “DAN Test Unit” were donated to DAN Europe exclusively for scientific purposes and are not for sale.

ElectronicDivision

DiveSystem Medical Lab is an in-house ambulatory, realized in collaboration with AMSEI (Hyperbaric and Underwater Medical Association) and Extreme Center of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa.

The ambulatory is authorized to issue certification for OTS DMAC / EDTC med with respect of the requirements dictated by the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA), and performs certification in diving medicine for recreational and technical divers.

The ambulatory also performs specific tests and experiments related to the physiology of diving decompression algorithms with the support of DiveSystem iDive, Orca and Furyo computers.

NEUTRAL BUOYANCYThe SUS diving scooters are totally balanced and remain steady wherever you put them, without drag you up or drag you down and giving you the chance to operate totally free.

MANEUVERABILITYThanks to the 2 steering handles, exactly identical in their functions, you can drive the SUS diving scooter alternating your right arm with the left one. This allows you to rest one arm at a time and offers you a big to maneuverability even in narrow or occluded environments, as wrecks or caves

MODULARITYOn the same propulsion system, it is possible to assemble different bodies and different battery packs, increasing the operating time according to the scuba diver’s needs.

COMFORTThe exclusive gradual acceleration system, together with the soft-start system, grants a comfortable journey and a perfect handling of the SUS diving scooter, also in extreme environments.

PERFORMANCEWith its high efficiency engine, the torque regulator and high efficiency propeller puller the SUS is matchless.

Mission G.A.3Egypt - Alexandria 18/19 December 1941

« ... six men changed the face of the War in one night. »(Winston Churchill)

Dsw is proud that Emilio Bianchi, last living Italian Navy operator of G.A.3 mission, accepted the Dsw G.A.3 n° 001/199

C.S. Emilio Bianchi Gold Campaign medal

On 14th December the Submariner Scirè, un-der the command of lieutenant Junio Valerio Borghese, headed straight for the Egyptian coast. The attack was expected for the night between 18th and 19th December.

The three SLC (“Slow speed Torpedo” or “Maia-li”) were piloted by two men of the crew each. They crossed the great defences of Alexandria to head for their targets: the at battleship HMS Valiant , the battleship HMS Queen Elizabeth and Sagona tanker

The Italian raid cost to English as a lost naval battle and was kept secret long. The port’s low floor allowed the battleships to lean on, kee-ping the ships in apparent sailing condition.

At the end of the war, the six “palombari” were decorated with the Gold Medal of Military Valor. The ex-Commander of HMS Valiant battleship, the Commodore Sir. Charles Morgan, himself pins the medals on “palombari” La Penne and Bianchi during the ceremony in Taranto.
