• In FY17, OSU Surplus recycled 854 tons, composted 665 tons, and was able to reuse 556 tons of university assets
• In March 2018, OSU Surplus eclipsed $1 million in sales• OSU Surplus has approval from Oregon State Surplus to sell surplus
for other areas in the region, currently selling for ~40 agencies in addition to Oregon State University
• In 2018, Ohio University received an AASHE STARS Silver rating9
• Through OU Surplus, the university was able to recover and reuse 291.95 tons of material in FY16, and 300.68 tons of materials in FY179
• During their annual Rebike event, the university sells bicycles that had been abandoned on campus to students, faculty and staff10
• Purdue Surplus reduced computer e-waste from 76,000 pounds to zero11
• The department also kept over 994,000 pounds of office supplies out of landfills11
• Through departmental reimbursements, the department has returned over $2.5 million back to departments that donated goods from 2011 to 201611
• In fiscal year 2015, Duke Surplus donated 360 computers and 2,831 items of furniture, furnishings and equipment back to departments12
• The program also offers surplus medical equipment to the Global Health PLUS program, which then transfers the items to low resource communities in places throughout the world like Ghana, Bolivia and Nigeria13
