The Thunder Bay Diving Club and Dive Ontario invite you to the 2018 Winter Provincials,

being held December 8th - 10th. As this competition serves as a Dive Ontario trials for C &

D divers to earn a spot at the Cuba Cup in April, we anticipate the top talent from Ontario

and Central Canada to be at their best. Please join us in Thunder Bay, where we’ve been

famous for our hospitality for over 3 decades.

The Thunder Bay Diving Club trains in the Canada Games Complex, which was built for the

1981 Games. The Club formed in 1982, and made an immediate impact on the Canadian

diving scene. Since then, our small club has sent divers to represent our nation at every

major event on the planet.

We have a full facility pool, complete with three 1-metre springboards, two 3-metere

springboards, 5-metre, 7.5-metre, and 10-metre platforms. We also have a roll-out 3-metre

platform, bubbles, sprayers, and dryland facilities consisting of trampoline with spotting rig,

and a dryboard.

The Ontario Provincials are a Diving Canada sanctioned meet, and serve as both a Junior

and Senior National qualifier. National events follow the rules required for divers to qualify

for Canadian Junior and Senior Nationals. We look forward to seeing how the new rules fit

within the confines of a three day meet!

Thunder Bay at this time of year is quietly magical: autumn has ended and the dark veil of

winter has overtaken the region. The air is crisp, but the Canada Games Complex will be

the site of some hot competitions!

All dive sheets are due 24 hours prior to the event using the Canadian Dive Sheet Generator (available online through Integrated Sport Systems http://www.intergrated.net/diving/dive_sheet_generator.html) Please be clear about which level your divers are entered for on the general entries, as well as on individual dive sheets. Dive sheets submitted after these times will be subject to a $25 late dive sheet fee (as per Diving Canada rulebook). No new dive sheets will be accepted within one hour of the posted start time of the event. Changes to the dive sheets must be submitted a minimum of 1 hour prior to the events posted started time. Diving Plongeon Canada 2014-2017 rules will apply to all Open and Age Group events. • x01 and x02 dives are not allowed on 1m or 3m, where x denotes any group

• x02 dives are not allowed in any Open Platform Event

Schedule: A draft event schedule is included in this Meet Package. A revised schedule will be provided after the registration deadline. Events will have 30 minutes to warm-up prior to the start of the event.

Age Requirements

GROUP D Dive Requirements 1. Age specification

1.1. D1 = 10 years old or younger in the year of competition (2018 = born 2008 or later) 1.2. D2 = 11 years old in year of competition (2018 = born 2007)

9.5.1. Final scores will be determined by adding together the scores for the

9.5.1.2. The optional dives without DD limit from the final event

GROUP A DIVE REQUIREMENTS 10. Age specification

10.1. 16, 17 or 18 years old in year of competition (2018 = born 2000, 2001 or 2002)

11.1. FINA DD’s used for all dives

11.2. All dives in any one competition must be of a different dive number

11.4. Girls and Boys Group A 1m and 3m Preliminary Events

11.4.1. Girls and Boys have the same dive requirements

11.4.2. Divers perform ten (10) dives

11.4.3. First five (5) dives

11.4.3.1. DD limit

11.4.3.2. Five (5) groups represented

11.4.3.3. DD limit for 1m is 9.0

11.4.3.4. DD limit for 3m is 9.5

11.4.4. Last five (5) dives without DD limit

11.5. Girls A Platform Preliminary Event

11.5.1. Divers must perform eight (8) dives

11.5.2. Five(5) groups must be represented in the eight (8) dives

11.5.3.1. DD limit of 7.6

11.5.3.2. Four 4 groups represented

11.5.4. Last four (4) dives without DD limit

11.5.4.1. Four (4) groups represented

11.6. Boys Group A Platform Preliminary Event

11.6.1. Divers must perform nine (9) dives

11.6.2. Six (6) groups must be represented in the nine (9) dives

12. GROUP A FINALS

12.1. Twelve (12) divers advance to the finals

12.3.1. Divers must perform four (4) dives

12.3.1.2. A minimum of one (1) dive must be from group 100 or group 400

12.3.1.3. A minimum of one (1) dive must be from group 200 or group 300

12.3.1.4. A minimum of one (1) dive must be from group 5000, group 600 or group 6000

12.3.2. Five (5) groups must be represented over the Preliminary compulsory dives and the Final optional dives

12.4. Boys Group A Platform Final Event

12.4.1. Divers must perform five (5) dives

12.4.1.1. Five 5 groups must be represented

12.4.2. Six (6) groups must be represented over the Preliminary compulsory dives and the Final optional dives

12.5. Final Results for 1m, 3m and platform

12.5.1. Final scores will be determined by adding together the scores for the

12.5.1.1. Dives with DD limit from the preliminary event and

12.5.1.2. The dives without DD limit from the final event

12.5.2. Ranking will be based on the Final Scores for the top 12 and the results from the preliminaries for places 13

and lower

NATIONAL QUALIFICATION GROUP A AND B 1. Divers must achieve the qualification score identified on the Junior Elite National Qualification Standard Chart

1.1. Divers must achieve the standard two times

OR 1.2. Divers must achieve 110% of the standard one time

2. To be eligible to participate in the Junior Elite National Championships

2.1. To qualify for 1m, the diver must also qualify on either the 3m or platform

2.2. To qualify for 3m, the diver does not need to qualify on the other boards

2.3. To qualify for platform, the diver does not need to qualify on the other boards

SYNCHRONIZED DIVING There will be an A/B combined synchronized diving event held on 3 meter and on platform for boys and for girls – 4 events in total. The FINA Rules will be followed for these 4 events (DAG 3.1) with the following additions; 1. All dives must be from the 10 meter for the platform synchronized event.

2. DD minimum for the final 3 dives

2.1. 3 meter event will be a minimum DD of 7.9

2.2. Platform event will be a minimum DD of 8.1
