• In 2015, agriculture grants to 247 families in 20 municipalities

• Unique public-private partnership model developed

• Donors: individual donors from Diaspora, local municipalities, Canadian and Norwegian embassy

DIVAc youtH FunDs

• In 2015, Divac Youth Funds (funds managed by selected young people towards dealing with local youth issues) operating in 11 municipalities across Serbia supported 138 local youth projects

• Unique model of partnership between CSO, local municipality, and local businesses

• In order to make this model organizationally sustainable and even more locally-owned, Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation selected 6 CSO’s that will go through extensive mentoring and capacity building process and run Divac Youth Fund model in the future

In 2015, build 5 courses and 5 Montessori classrooms in public kindergartens

For the 5 year duration of the project, a total of 24 playgrounds in kindergartens that benefit more than 8,000 children across the country

new cHAllenges In 2015 – ReFugee RelIeF

• Over 600.000 refugees have passed trough Serbia over the last 5 months

• Divac Foundation provided 70 tons of food, water, medicines, hygiene packages and winter clothes (jackets, boots, and hats) for over 70.000 refugees

• Fundraising efforst started with American Economy Chamber in Serbia and their members. Foundation immediately involved 10 corporate donors, 100 volunteers and established partnerships with international donors

pRomotIng toleRAnce AnD HumAnIty

In September 2015, Foundation gathered representatives of 4 traditional religious communities in Serbia – Orthodox, Catholic, Islamic and Jewish, who have sent mutual message of humanity and publicly invited people and communities to support refugees.

Action had a great media coverage and great response from the Serbian community, corporate and international donors.

Divac Foundation is investing continuous efforts in improving environment for philanthropy with focus on:

Foundation representatives are taking active part in activities related to the sector development as well on different panel discussions and conferences

Active role in UN Global Compact network in Serbia and in Serbian Philanthropy Forum

excHAnge oF KnowleDgeFunDRAIsIng conFeRence

In April, Foundation has organized fundraising

conference for the CSOs. The aim was to gather and educate

representatives of different CSO’s in order to improve their

fundraising capacities and increase their suistainability.

Conference consisted of lecture from US fundraising expert Jerry Twombly and presentations from 5 national foundations and 2 corporations regarding their approach to fundraising and decision making in grant giving.

60 participants from 23 organizations took part on the

conference.

Conference was free for the participants and has been organized without any budget.

VolunteeRs ActIons

Divac Foundation is investing effort to

organize volunteers and to motivate people

in Serbia to join such initiatives

Volunteering actions: World Charity Day, many activities with corporate sector and partners for refugee relief projects

Foundation and its volunteers have

delivered 70 tons of food and water, thousands

pieces of clothes, blankets, hygienic

packages, etc

engAgIng coRpoRAte sectoR

Trough Global Compact network Serbia, Foundation have initiated several activities for corporate sector. In August 40 employees were engaged in a volunteering action in a home for children without parental care. They have renewed some parts of the building and sport court.

Also, another company donated furniture for two SOS children villages.

ADVocAtIng FoR FAVoRAble legIslAtIVe RegARDIng tAxes

Non-supportive legislative environment in area of tax

deductions for individuals and corporative donors is a huge obstacle for the whole non-profit sector, but also for the

beneficiaries

Together with Serbian Economy Chamber, Nordic Business Alliance and KPMG and an

expert advisor, Divac Foundation have raised this issue with the

government

The whole sector is interested to support this initiative and we

are hoping for some positive changes during 2016

Children’s New Years gifts for 1.000 refugee kids which have entered the country during holidays

Children magazine for over 12.000 kids across Serbia with focus on rural areas and institutions for unprivileged children
