Is fundraising necessary?

Just collecting district dues will not allow your district to be fully functional.

Fundraising Committee

Establish a fundraising committee within your district.

Budget your year out (travelling expenses, PAPCO, PCOC Cares, Scholarship Foundation, saving reserves, etc.)

Plan your fundraising events a year or two out.

Set aside time to discuss fundraising in your monthly meeting along with your affiliate reports, new business, old business, etc.

Putting together a Fundraising Committee will get more people involved.

District Meetings

Pick the right venue for your district meeting.

Put in effort to make sure your district makes money off of your meeting.

Example: Orange County District gets charged $19.50 per person at Dave & Busters. They get the room at no charge if they have more than 40 people. They charge $30.00 at the door. On average they have 50 people attend their meeting a month, which leaves them $525.00.

50/50 DrawingHalf a deck of cards or pull out all the face cards and joker. San Bernardino/Riverside once paid out $3000.00.

Raffle PrizesAsk participants to bring a raffle prize to the next district meeting and make sure you put the pledges in the meeting minutes. Sell raffle tickets at the door. Being able to charge credit cards at the door will definitely increase your fundraising efforts.

Thinking outside of the Box

Orange County Chair advertised on projection screen during social hour for manufactures, distributors, fumigation contractors, etc. at $300.00 for the year. He also put up the 50/50 amount, next up coming speakers, Board of Director meeting information, etc. and ran it on a continual loop. He brought in $2500.00 that year.

Orange County District asked Target Specialty Products and Univar to purchase a 60” LCD Television during a vendor night and raffle tickets were sold at $10.00. The district sold 76 ticket that night generating $760.00.
