20th June 2016 President Report 1. The new roof has been put on thanks to the City of Kwinana, the old asbestos roof has finely been replaced, this may mean we lose the pigeons in the ceiling and the honey in the wall cavity (Bugger we have only talked about removing them for 4 Years) 2. Saturday morning Michael Nella, Lorraine Lucas, Diane Bird and myself attended the Daughters of Destiny grand opening at Baldivis, They are doing an extremely worthwhile service to the community 3. Diane and I attend the Rotary Club of Rockingham changeover (Ray Bath) on Saturday night and a great time was held by all attending 4. We will hold a club forum early in the new year to discuss a signature Rotary Club of Kwinana fund raising event with the view of raising at least a $10,000.00 net profit, please will all members put on their thinking caps about what activity can we carry out to meet this goal some thoughts already Corporate Golf day, Monster Raffle, Debutante Ball etc. 5. We have the opportunity to hold a Sausage sizzle at Bunning’s on the Second Thursday of each month from July 14th to December 8th 2016,please get behind Bob T and support him by adding your name to the roster 6. Project Director Ian urgently requires each director’s and service managers annual reports for the 2015/16 Rotary year, Allowing for the inclusion into the Rotary Club of Kwinana annual report 7. Busy Bee required to clean out the freezers and fridges somehow they were turned off and about $200.00 of meat spoiled and has now been thrown out, They need cleaning Now 8. District Change over Gary Holland Centre 2nd July, see Wendy for details International The international Committee has carried out the following. Our applications for Foundation Global Grants GG 1639026 & GG1640204 have been resubmitted and we are now waiting on the new Rotary Club of Dili Lafaek-Timor, carrying out further training 7th,8th & 9th July and gaining their qualifications to apply or partake in Foundation Global Grants Receive a report from Timor Leste on the School Computer Extract Below Prior to Rotary’s gift, we depended upon seriously out of date computers gifted from Malaysia - Many with Japanese or Chinese key boards, many with faulty keyboards or worse, almost all without working batteries, most slow

- For the first time, have machines which adequately support our programs, in time, TL will become computer literate!

Makes all the Blood, Sweat, and Tears all worthwhile to receive feedback like this, Thanks to all concerned

President Max with Lisa and Peter Fry

Peter Fry married Lisa in 1988, has 3 children, moved to Leda in 1992.

Joined Repco in 1989 worked through many positions and achieved the

position of WA State Sales Manager where he remained until further promotion meant leaving WA,

a move that Peter was not comfortable with.

When an opportunity became available to buy into a new AutoBahn franchise to be situated in Kwinana

Peter decided it could be just right for himself and Lisa.

The store has now been operating for 12 months, Peter is very happy with the results so far, he started

out employing 2 mechanical tradesman and has now employed a third.

Peter’s biggest surprise is the multicultural diversity of his customers where in many cases English is

not the first language and communication can sometimes be a challenge.

Peter’s business philosophy is to provide the very best customer service available, he is proud to say

that he believes he has a strong team around him.

Another plus is that he is able to involve the family, Lisa is an integral part of the team, the kids come in

and help out, it’s great that the family can be around as previously Peter was a 8 till 6pm corporate

worker away from home all day every day.

Already after just 1 year Peter is experiencing repeat business which is very encouraging because this

donates that people are coming back and were obviously happy with the services provided.

President Max thanked Peter and Lisa for their attendance tonight.

Fine Session Sergeant: PP Stephen Castelli

Genevieve: Had to be fined just because Collingwood won.

Bob T & James: Seen to engaged is some clandestine operation putting bags into James’s car.

John W: Unprepared when Max sprung the Loyal Toast on him.

John I: Sent out the Andy Valk financials by email, then claimed he had included a ‘deliberate

mistake’ when challenged on the content.

Brian Mc: Looking like he has received a significant ‘left hook’ from Colleen or shaved with a large

blunt instrument.

Bob T: Had a win in the Footy Tipping, tipped Collingwood to beat Fremantle.

Greg W: Has new neighbours, young guys, he confronted when driving a 4 wheel drive very rowdily

around the fire breaks right next to his house, apparently lectured them for so long when they went to

drive back to their house they had a flat battery.

Stephen C: Fined himself for his new haircut, on a cost saving exercise, facing retirement.

Eric B: Talking while our President was trying to get our attention.

Ed S: Changed seats.

Wendy and Bob T: Welcome along tonight.

Fined all those parked inside the hall grounds, you are all suspects in the ‘who run over the retic’ crime.

Pres. Max Fined for actually wearing his badge tonight, for the first time in living memory.

Polio This Week 21st June 2016

On 24 June, stakeholders of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative

including member states and donors are gathering in Geneva at the

meeting of the Polio Partners Group to review progress and discuss

the trivalent to bivalent oral polio vaccine switch, transition planning

and the financial resources urgently needed to see eradication

through to the end.

The knowledge, skills and infrastructure built to end polio are

helping to make dramatic progress on improving children’s health

more broadly. In this factsheet discover how the eradication

infrastructure is expanding the reach of health services, improving

disease surveillance and building health worker capacity. By

planning now, we can keep the world polio-free and ensure that the

investments made in ending polio have a broad and lasting impact

on children’s health and development, long after polio is gone.

Bruce normally drives his 6 year old to school every day on his way to work. But he's been to his mate's Robbo's birthday barby the night before and got so hammered there that he's

got a massive hangover and decides to chuck a sickie.

His wife Sheila grabs the keys to the ute and drives the daughter to school.

The teacher notices and later in the day during a chat she asks the girl; I see you mum drove you to

school today.

Yes, says the girl, daddy was sick today, it was quite different today.

The teacher says; different? How do you mean different?

Well, says the girl, Mum and I .... didn't see a single tosser, blind bastard, dickhead, moron, Asian prick

or wanker anywhere on the whole way to school today!

A 70 year old millionaire brags at the golf club that soon he is getting married to a gorgeous 20 year old

blonde.

His mate says how the hell did you get a 20 year old sheila at your age, you're bloody 70, did you lie

about your age?

Yes, he admits, I did, I told her I was 90 !!

Bruce's teenage son had just passed his driving test and asked his dad if he could borrow the ute. Bruce was not all that keen on his pisshead son hooning around in his beloved V8 Holden so he set

some conditions;

You bring your grades up from a C to a B average, study your bible a little, and get your hair cut. Then

we'll talk about the ute'

The son thought about that for a moment, decided he'd settle for the offer, and they agreed on it.

After about six weeks his Bruce said, 'mate, you've brought your grades up and I noticed that you have

been studying your bible, but you haven't had your hair cut.

The boy said, 'You know, Dad, I've noticed in my studies of the bible that Samson had long hair, John

the Baptist had long hair, Moses had long hair...and there's even strong evidence that Jesus had long

hair.'

To this his Bruce replied, 'Yes, and did you also notice they all walked everywhere they went?'
